SEC lawyers, Lane Kiffin and Death Valley: College football’s Week 1 is set for for fireworks
The appetizer that was week zero in college football certainly delivered in a time of desperation for fans across the country wanting just a taste of what is to come this season.
But after seven long months of waiting, the main course finally arrives this week, headlined by Clemson’s trip to Baton Rouge for a Saturday night showdown in Death Valley — and Lane Kiffin’s LSU debut.
Trust me, I understand fans are sick of hearing about the ongoing court battles between athletes from the 2022 class and the SEC.
But there is another fight brewing in Baton Rouge on Thursday morning that will draw plenty of attention.
When plaintiffs in the Louisiana case added the SEC to their amended complaint over the weekend, taking aim at Conference commissioner Greg Sankey for his part in enacting new guidelines approved by member schools, it was only a matter of time before this route was taken by attorneys.
Now, before LSU takes on Clemson on Saturday, a courtroom will be the setting for the latest round between class of 2022 athletes and the NCAA.
On Sunday night, OutKick asked the SEC about being added to the case, which the conference then provided a statement noting they would be inside the Baton Rouge courthouse in order to argue their case.
"The order entered against the SEC and Commissioner Sankey is a temporary restraining order, not a final ruling on the merits, the conference noted. "The SEC and Commissioner Sankey are prepared to contest the allegations in the plaintiffs’ petition at Thursday morning’s hearing and defend the SEC’s rights as a voluntary association to fulfill its mission to its member institutions.
In the meantime, the SEC and Commissioner Sankey will continue to comply with the Court’s order. Following the hearing, the SEC will carefully review the Court’s decision and determine the appropriate next steps"
What does that final sentence mean?

Well, if an injunction is granted for the athletes in this case and some of those athletes take the field on Saturday night for LSU against Clemson, or listed on Friday's final roster report, the SEC would then have to make a decision on how to enforce their own rules pertaining to athletes with NFL ties.

I don't think many of us, myself included, expected Bill Belichick to lead his North Carolina team to a win over TCU in Ireland. But, I'd also say that it's hard to take away a lot from that one game, besides the fact that Sonny Dykes is desperately missing quarterback Josh Hoover after he transferred to Indiana.

Also, how about Memphis going to Las Vegas and upsetting UNLV? Monster win for Charles Huff, which left Dan Mullen complaining about his own fans starting the 'wave' while his offense was on the field.
Yes, this actually transpired, Mullen was upset.

Now, looking ahead to a jam-packed schedule this week, it all starts in Atlanta on Thursday night, as Deion Sanders will roam the Georgia Tech sidelines in primetime.
Here's a look at which games I've got my eye on this week.
We have spent seven months talking about Lane Kiffin leading LSU out of the tunnel at Tiger Stadium, and it finally comes to fruition Saturday night in Death Valley.
Expectations are sky-high across Louisiana, and nationally, for this LSU team. But this is also a measuring-stick game for Dabo Swinney and Clemson. Can he lead the Tigers into one of the sport’s most hostile environments and leave with a victory?
Predictions are coming later this week, but that is a tall task for Clemson.

Here we go. The Fighting Irish will face the Badgers at Lambeau Field to begin what should be a season that ends in the College Football Playoff for Notre Dame.

After a lackluster showing against New Mexico State this past weekend, Florida State better figure out how to contain SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings.
If it doesn’t, this could be the beginning of a stretch that puts Mike Norvell’s job in serious jeopardy over the next two months.
Go ahead and get all of those chores done now, or figure out how to get out of an event planned by your family or significant other.
College football is officially back, and I can promise there will be an upset this weekend that Vegas isn’t predicting.
It might not be the strongest slate of games we’ll see all season, but nobody had better be complaining about a five-day stretch of action over Labor Day weekend.

Pittsburgh youth football coach loses his mind & fights opposing coaches, Maria Sharapova at the beach & Flair
If Monday Screencaps seems a little off, it's because I am working at about 55% this morning after coming down with whatever these kids brought into this house from school. I'm talking down for the count Saturday night. That led into a brutal Sunday with all the symptoms that comes with this crap.
But, it's not enough to call in sick. Uncomfortable? No doubt. Bad enough to pass up pumping out an edition of America's Best Daily Column, as named by the readers? No.
In better news, I can report that Screencaps Jr. has officially broken the 12-minute mark in his cross country career. In Saturday's race, he went 11:45:30 and finished 6th out of 238 runners. That's 30 seconds off his previous personal best. Jr.'s team finished first and our top runner clocked a 10:49.60, which was two seconds off the school record. It looks like they'll have a pretty good season.

In other youth sports news, did you see this unhinged youth football coach lose his mind this weekend in Pittsburgh? "Its the 4th quarter, we're down 7-0 with 3:00 min left with the ball and a chance to tie the game, then this happens," the video uploader, Ryan Crux, wrote on Facebook. "The coaches are (100)% blame for this loss after they forfeit smh. Never thought i would have to protect my son from youth football coaches but here we are."
You know what we didn't see at cross country this weekend? Drama. There wasn't a single mom yelling "Get the kids!" at the invitational.

We were fortunate enough to receive a flyer from Screencaps Jr. over the weekend announcing the 8th grade D.C. trip. Guess how you find out the dates and the cost? Yep, you have to scan a QR code that opens up a website that then wants you to authorize cookies on your phone.

I didn't agree to the cookies, but I did find out that the $1,500 includes hotel for three nights, bus trip, admissions and "All Meals (unless otherwise stated).
If that price seems high, have no fear. WorldStrides, who organizes the trip, promises that it will provide families with "shareable Facebook links students can send the friends and family" to beg for money.

FIRST ON FOX: Texas becomes testing ground for new defense against attacks on America’s water systems
FIRST ON FOX: The Trump administration is launching "Project Watershed 250" Monday, Fox News Digital exclusively learned, deploying American artificial intelligence and cybersecurity tools to protect Texas water systems from cyberattacks in a pilot the administration plans to scale nationwide.
"Project Watershed 250 is another example of President Trump putting American families and communities first. President Trump is relentless in his work to secure our critical infrastructure against our most determined adversaries," National Cyber Director Sean Cairncross told Fox News Digital. "President Trump has cemented America’s leadership in AI security and innovation and is now bringing those exquisite tools to local communities and utilities in Texas and ultimately, across the nation through the launch of Project Watershed 250 – a scalable cyber water pilot program."
The Trump administration is bringing federal, state and private-sector cyber defenses together in a six-month Texas pilot aimed at finding vulnerabilities in water systems before adversaries can exploit them — while testing whether the model can be expanded across the country.
The program will connect Texas water utilities with U.S. cybersecurity companies to test their existing defenses and strengthen vulnerable systems using private-sector cyber and artificial intelligence tools, a White House official told Fox News Digital.
The program will use "red-teaming" to stress-test water utilities’ networks, identify weaknesses hackers could exploit and then strengthen those systems with cybersecurity tools, according to a White House official.
TRUMP LAUNCHES GOLD EAGLE TO HUNT CYBER FLAWS WITH AI
Dragos CEO Robert Lee said that U.S. water infrastructure faces active, documented threats, particularly at small utilities that often lack strong cybersecurity defenses. Lee said Watershed 250 will help get technology, training and support to those vulnerable systems before an attack occurs.
"There is nothing more important to Texans than clean, reliable drinking water. Project Watershed 250 puts federal, state, and private-sector cyber defenses behind our utilities at no cost. The White House, the Texas Cyber Command, and industry now work from the same playbook," said Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
A White House official, however, said the program is not in response to recent cyberattacks that targeted more than 30 Minnesota water systems, though the incidents underscored vulnerabilities in local infrastructure.
"However, these recent attacks have reiterated the need for this modernization and focus on water systems," said the White House official. "Critical Infrastructure protection has long been a priority for ONCD and President Trump and this effort has been in the works since last year."

"Few things matter more than the safety of the water Americans drink, and this is a powerful example of how open-weight AI models, built in the U.S. and running on a utility’s own systems, can help keep communities safe," said Becky Sosnov, Reflection AI head of corporate affairs.
CHINA-LINKED HACKERS INFILTRATED US GOVERNMENT NETWORKS BEFORE FBI TAKEDOWN
"Microsoft applauds the administration’s leadership in strengthening the cybersecurity of America’s water infrastructure and is proud to support the Project Watershed 250 effort in partnership with the Office of the National Cyber Director, the State of Texas, and Texas Cyber Command," said Microsoft US Public Sector president Chris Barry. "By bringing together Microsoft’s cybersecurity expertise, threat intelligence, and AI-powered security capabilities, we aim to help water utilities strengthen their resilience against evolving cyber threats and develop scalable approaches that can enhance the security of water systems nationwide."
The push comes as the Trump administration races to build out U.S. data centers to fuel the AI boom, putting more attention on the water and power needed to keep them running.
The pilot program builds on Trump’s June executive order on Promoting Advanced Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Security and his Cyber Strategy for America released in March.
Is the US already losing to China on innovation, logistics and rapid resupply?
It has been said that "An Army Marches on its Stomach." True enough. But even the task of quickly and properly feeding hundreds of thousands of military personnel to keep them battle ready, comes down to some form of logistics, innovation and speed.
The recent "controversy" involving USS Abraham Lincoln during its 250-plus day deployment serves as a timely example of that truth. To be sure, many of the accusations made regarding the lack of food and low morale among the sailors were exaggerated by some commentators who harbor a strong dislike of President Donald Trump and were seeking to use the long deployment as a way to embarrass the president and his administration.
That acknowledged, there also is an element of "Your side, my side and the truth somewhere in the middle" associated with the resupply and morale issue connected with USS Abraham Lincoln.
Logistics, innovation and rapid resupply do matter. Be it food, basic staples, weapons systems, or medical supplies. All politics aside, at the very least, the resupply issue surrounding USS Abraham Lincoln — no matter the actual severity — can serve as a very valuable lesson going forward.
"Watch the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves," — a phrase often attributed to Benjamin Franklin — most especially proves true with our military. If the logistics chain breaks or dramatically slows down at the bottom, the warfighting — and winning — capability at the top will suffer… or fail.
AMERICA FACES A CRISIS IN OUR MILITARY ARSENAL THAT TRUMP IS RACING TO FIX
What constitutes a "penny" for our military? Meaning, what is something which may seem so insignificant and tiny that it never enters the mind of the civilian population — or worse, our "decision makers" — but could prove a game changer for the military if either exponentially innovated and put into action, or because it aged out, failed or was made irrelevant by the technology implemented by our adversaries?
A recent conversation with a general opened my eyes to just one such "penny" that is off virtually everyone's radar screen. That being a rivet. The simple rivet. Ironically, about the same size as the penny we need to "watch" if we hope to grow our wealth.
INNOVATION IS KEY TO AMERICA STAYING A SUPERPOWER. BUT IT IS MISSING AN ESSENTIAL PIECE
More specifically, the general outlined the constant and increasing need to replace old rivets in military (and commercial) aircraft. To be honest, rivets, and more specifically, their replacement on aircraft never entered my mind in all my years until the general informed me not only how vital it was to the maintenance of our fleet and military readiness, while also stating they had fortunately identified a state-of-the-art technology which can do it 15 times faster and more efficiently via robotics.
"What’s the big deal," some might understandably ask until one stops to realize that there are collectively hundreds of millions of rivets on military and commercial aircraft which either age out or crack. Faster, cheaper, better and safer is a real advantage. A technology the general informed me, the People’s Republic of China is already employing with its exponentially advancing AI and Robotics platforms.
INSIDE CHINA’S AI ‘WOLF PACK’ DRONES BUILT WITH TAIWAN CONFLICT IN MIND
Aside from their innovation in rivet replacement, a recent peek into just one of China’s robotic advancements was referenced on this site under the headline: "Chinese humanoid robot breaks Usain Bolt's 100m dash record at 9.39 seconds." Li Yanfeng, an education worker and a Beijing resident who witnessed the record-breaking robotic feat said in part: "At first, I wasn’t very accepting of artificial intelligence. I was even a bit resistant to it, because of the possibility that it might replace or displace humans. But now that I see this development is unstoppable, I decided to come and take a look."
The Chinese educator spoke the one word which should strike fear into the hearts of all those in charge of safeguarding our national and economic security: "Unstoppable." That one word should — and must — force our decision makers to ask the most critical question of all regarding this topic: "Is the United States losing the innovation, logistics and rapid resupply war to China in our military and commercial sectors?"
Fortunately, it appears that question is being asked across the U.S. national and economic security spectrum. As mentioned in the piece, "The U.S. has stepped up scrutiny of robots from China, which makes the majority of the world's humanoid robots."

To this point, President Donald Trump's Federal Communications Commission (FCC) stressed in part: "I welcome these Executive Branch national security determinations, and I am pleased that the FCC has now added foreign-produced advanced robotics and power inverters to the FCC’s Covered List. Following President Trump’s leadership, the FCC will continue to do our part to secure America’s critical supply chains and, with today’s action, the FCC is acting in lock step with our national security agencies to do just that."
"Critical supply chains." Be it the replacement of rivets; prompt resupply of food or logistical materials; or actual robots performing any task faster, cheaper and more efficiently than U.S. citizens, our nation can’t afford to fall behind China when it comes to the innovation which drives these endeavors.
To that end, we had better watch the innovation "pennies" so our national and economic security "dollars" can protect us all.
NASCAR race includes half the field wrecking, furious drivers & Hollywood actor ripping a 'leftist, woke' move
Monday Morning Pit-Stop is a weekly NASCAR column that runs on OutKick.com and Fox News Digital. If you're looking for a normal NASCAR recap, go check out insufferable ESPN ... assuming they still know NASCAR exists.
Well ... that's all she wrote for the NASCAR regular season. Just like that, it's playoff time. Or "Chase" time. Whatever they're calling it nowadays.
The longest season in sports now enters a 10-week race to the finish. We start in Darlington, and end in Miami. Daytona, meanwhile, takes a long, well-earned rest until next February.
Ryan Preece, somehow, won Saturday night under the lights. He entered the race a billion points below the Chase cutline, needed a win — and some luck — to get in, and ... he got the win, and some luck.
First NASCAR Cup Series win of his career, too. First real one, anyway (he won the Busch Clash earlier this year).
"Daytona almost took my life," Preece said, referring to his nasty Daytona spin(s) a few years ago that led to the speedway removing the grass on the backstretch. "Or ended my racing career. It could've. We were inches away from something, possibly, really bad happening."
Well, this certainly beat the heck outta that! Well done, Ryan. We'll dive in here in a bit.
Of course, that's not all from a pretty loaded Daytona weekend.
I've also got a wild wreck on the final lap, drivers being accused of wrecking other drivers, one driver going airborne, and Tom Cruise. That's right.

Well, we're not really gonna talk about him. Instead, we're gonna check in with old Days of Thunder teammate, Randy Quaid, who seems excited for the sequel!

Never mind! This one's easy. If the race was yesterday, I'd start with Preece winning or Ricky Stenhouse (allegedly) hooking Ryan Blaney. But that was two days ago at this point. You guys have seen a lot of it already.
What you haven't seen, though, is Randy Quaid (Cousin Eddie!) losing his everloving mind on Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway.
For those who missed it, Tom and Anne announced over the weekend that 'Days of Thunder' would be moving forward with a sequel, set for release in 2028 when we're all getting ready to vote for JD Vance (or Marco!).
Cruise was at the track Saturday night with enough security for a president, by the way.

That's Tom in the white in the middle, with three guards leading the way, three more to his right, and one to his left. He had two escalades waiting for him beyond that gate. I've only ever seen a security presence like that at Daytona when Trump's in town. Wild.
Anyway, Tom was NASCAR's big get this weekend, and he attended the driver's meeting before the race. I don't know what he said because I wasn't invited (not complaining, trust me), but I do know he respected Kyle Busch like any true patriot:

Someone who doesn't quite get what's going on is Randy Quaid, who played team owner Tim Daland in the original 'Days of Thunder.'
There's been no official word yet, but it sounds like Randy was NOT invited back this time around:
"Anne Hathaway is a leftist, woke, horrible choice for DAYS OF THUNDER NASCAR audience who are MAGA," Quaid posted via X shortly after the news broke Saturday.
"The sexy older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole. That’s the casting that would sell the idea. Ryan Preece won Saturday night after surviving an overtime restart and finish that included the rest of the field exploding behind him down the backstretch.
NASCAR chose to wait during the first set of wrecks on throwing the yellow, but eventually threw it when Ricky Stenhouse sent poor Ryan Blaney into the fence.
It may be unpopular, but ... I think NASCAR made the right call to A) wait, and B) finally throw it when they did:
Look, I hate that these races usually end under caution nowadays. Hate it. It angers me every single time, especially when the 500 ends under yellow.
That race, in my opinion, should only be allowed to end under green.
But I get this one. NASCAR tried to let them run to the finish after the first crash. They couldn't keep sitting on their hands when the rest of the field started imploding a few seconds later.
The Blaney hit looked hard. They weren't gonna let him sit there for another 30 seconds while the leaders raced to the finish. They just couldn't do that, for obvious reasons.

Pro wrestlers have been clear with their rabid fans – be polite, respectful and refrain from being weird when seeing them in public.
WWE star Paige had to make that clear once again.

Last week, she fired off a warning on X about those seeking her autograph at an airport.
"Airport scalpers are morphing.. Had someone waiting for me as I was getting off the plane at the gate of my connecting flight with like 30 pictures.. I’m easy going with this stuff but pulling up to my gate is f—ing weirdo behavior," she wrote. "Don’t do that."
Paige caught up with TMZ over the weekend and detailed the incident further.

"A lot of people in sports and anywhere really, or like any kind of celebrity, there'll be people wait to the airport like a bunch of pictures ready for you to sign," she said. "They want to sell it eventually. I’m usually pretty chill about it, honestly. I'm like, whatever, take my signature, I’m good. But this guy bought a ticket to go through to meet me at my connecting gate. So, he knew my flight, he knew where I was connecting through and he knew what time I was landing which is so f---ing weird.
"It's too far. So he's waiting outside for me and he has like 30 pictures and I'm like bro this is really strange. And he's like, ‘I know it's weird.’ And I'm like, yeah, bro, like, ‘get the f--- away.’ I don't think it's the airlines fault. I think it's someone maybe working for the airline or someone working in the airport that's like telling these people exactly where we are. And I'm like, we have meet and greets. We tell you where we're going to be at the arenas. That's different, too. Come to the arena. Come to, you know, a meet and greet, but like don't turn up at my hotel. Don't turn up at my connecting day. And don’t even turn up at the airports because a lot of wrestlers hate that."

Melinda French Gates stuns festival crowd, pledges to match Olivia Rodrigo's fundraising for $20M haul
Olivia Rodrigo introduced Daisy Chain Fields festival attendees to a surprise guest with a huge heart.
After revealing that her inaugural music festival raised $10 million for various women-focused nonprofits, the "drivers license" singer revealed a shocking fundraising update.
Before her headlining set at the event in Irvine, Rodrigo announced that Melinda French Gates would match every donation to the dollar, for a grand total of $20 million fundraised.
Rodrigo, who announced her first female-driven festival in June, told the crowd that she was "grateful" for each of the booked acts who performed "for free" throughout the day as she celebrated her initial $10 million fundraising effort.
"I really believe that giving women the tools to decide their own futures and live healthy lives free of violence and discrimination is the most effective tool we have at changing the world for the better," Rodrigo said. "And I don’t know many people who represent that idea more than Melinda French Gates."

The former Disney Channel actress admitted that Gates was "one of the most inspiring women I've ever met," while championing her dedication to "empowering women and girls that might have otherwise been forgotten."
"She's generous and brave and has done so much good in this world, and I’m totally floored because, as well as being in attendance here tonight, she’s pledged to double every dollar that we made here today to a grand total of funds being donated to $20 million," Rodrigo told the crowd. "I'm so grateful!"
"Look at what you have done," Gates told Rodrigo after joining the "good 4 u" singer on stage. "Look at what you created!"
"What I love about you is that you know that real power is not up here on stage, it's with everybody there, all of you," Gates continued. "When women and girls come together to dream and to lead, we change the world."
The former wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates added, "And, so long after the lights go down from this festival, the organizations doing this work will keep doing it because you all are here, so thank you for being here and thank you, Olivia."
During a press conference Friday before the festival, Rodrigo announced the multi-million figure raised for specific, women-focused nonprofits.

Aaron Donald reveals wife's advice that helped him make decision to come out of retirement and re-join Rams
Aaron Donald detailed the conversations he needed to have with his wife before he decided to come out of retirement and re-join the Los Angeles Rams for the 2026 season.
Donald signed a one-year, $20 million deal to bolster a defense that already includes Myles Garrett, who the Rams acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Browns in the offseason.

While Erica Donald posted on X, "I let him out of the house y’all," the brooding NFL defensive lineman told reporters he had to make sure his wife and household were good with him going back onto the field.
"I think my wife played a huge part of me making this decision period because if the wife wasn't happy, it wasn't going to get done. I got to make sure that the household was good, the kids were okay with it all," he said. "Then having the hard conversations, figuring things out, what I wanted to do. If I was to do it, how would we do it?
"My wife was on board. She said, 'If you want to do this, (I'm) with (you) 100%,' and there were days when I was like, 'I don't know.' She talked to me enough to be like, 'You want to do this. Don't make no decisions faster than what you need to make a decision. Take your time.' She played a huge part of me figuring this out because it really wasn't an easy decision. It took a lot of hard work, a lot of long conversations with a lot of different people, but I felt good enough to make the decision to come back and do this."
Donald said he was on the fence about actually coming out of retirement.
He said he spoke to Rams head coach Sean McVay almost every day to give him updates on where he was at about possibly coming back.

"To be honest with you, it was on and off for a while, but I think we knew this decision about two weeks (ago). I knew the world was saying all types of different things and nobody knew what was going on, but I knew for two weeks," Donald said. "Then, I talked to Sean every single week, damn near every day. We stayed in contact. I gave him all my updates, how I was feeling, how things were going. I know he got annoyed with [media] asking all the questions in camp every damn day. I felt bad for him at that point, but I was doing everything I needed to do to give myself peace of mind and see if I can do it.
"(There) wasn't (any) rushing. I just wanted to take my time and make the right decision because once you choose to come back, you’re all the way back in. You can't be halfway in, you (have to) be all the way in it. I had to get to that point where I felt like I'm 100% committed to playing football again because the last two years have been amazing. Building things that I've been building, working on what I've been working on, working from home, and jumping back in the fire playing football again. So, I really had to sit back, think about it, not just from the physical aspect (but) from the mental aspect as well. Everything just played out how it played out and we're here now."
Donald retired after the 2023 season. He was a Pro Bowler in each of his first 10 years with the Rams and was a First-Team All-Pro selection in all but two seasons. Donald was on the team when the Rams won the Super Bowl in 2021.
He has logged 111 sacks and 543 tackles in 154 career games.
Nevada casino on brink of closure reopens to lure tourists fed up with Las Vegas prices
One month after a Nevada casino narrowly avoided closure and reopened its doors, the ironic destination is expanding its comeback — betting that lower prices and fee-free resort experiences can lure travelers frustrated by high prices in Las Vegas.
Primm Valley Resort & Casino's July 22 reopening marked a dramatic turnaround for the town of Primm, which had been on the brink of losing its last operating casino-hotel and 344 jobs earlier this summer.
The Primm family struck a last-minute deal with Las Vegas-based Terrible's to operate the properties, averting the planned closure.

Primm Valley Resort & Casino reopened 17 days after Terrible's assumed management control.
"We're off to a great start," Cory Clemetson, president of Primm's landowning group Primm South Real Estate Company and grandson of town founder Ernie Primm, told Fox News Digital.
The company president pointed to the reopening of the pool and steakhouse, along with what he described as a positive response to the changes.
Clemetson said Primm is also aiming to offer travelers a more affordable alternative to Las Vegas.
The property is operating without resort fees and matching previously earned rewards tiers for returning customers as it works to bring longtime visitors back to Primm.
"I think right now in Las Vegas, one of the hot topics is ... people feel that private equity companies in general have taken away what's made Vegas great as a more affordable vacation by charging parking fees, resort fees," Clemetson said.
"Your overall ability to have a much more affordable vacation and have a great experience feels like it cost you three or four times that today," he said. "Primm is trying to reposition that and get back to attracting people."

But affordability is only part of Primm's appeal, according to Clemetson.
He said nostalgia remains a major draw for longtime visitors.
"Primm has a special place in so many people's hearts, not just Nevadans, but neighboring states and people throughout the country that have come to Las Vegas or have taken a trip out there," he said.
"[People] don't want to see [the properties] go away, and they don't want to see them deteriorate in a way, especially the way that was being formulated by the previous operator," Clemetson added.

More changes could soon be on the way, he indicated.
Table games could return to Primm Valley "pretty quickly," while another of the town's shuttered casino resorts, Buffalo Bill's, could eventually make a comeback, he said.

"I think eventually you'll see Buffalo Bill's here open, probably sooner rather than later," he said. "They're working on that, and so there's excitement."
Beyond the immediate changes, Clemetson pointed to the planned Southern Nevada Supplemental Airport near Primm as a major factor in the town's longer-term future.
"In the next 10 years, there's going to be a second major airport that will be built within a mile and a half of Primm, Nevada," he said.

"And that will give Primm a strategic advantage that it's never had," he said.
"With the right vision and the right strategy, we think that Primm can even potentially be better than it ever was, and it has a chance to do that," he added.
