Taylor Swift's Alan Jackson tribute backfires as country crowd seemingly erupts in boos
Taylor Swift paid tribute to Alan Jackson with a heartfelt message celebrating the country icon's legendary career, but the emotional moment quickly became overshadowed after video appeared to capture a mix of cheers and boos from the crowd.
The reaction came during Jackson's "Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale" concert, where Swift appeared in a prerecorded video tribute honoring the country legend rather than attending the show in person.
"It's Taylor," Swift began in the video. "I just want to say thank you for your decades of unbelievable songwriting and your performances and the way that means so much to us, the fans."
Swift praised Jackson for his song "Drive." Released in January 2002 as the second single from his album of the same name, Jackson wrote it as a tribute to his father, Eugene "Daddy Gene" Jackson, who died in 2000. The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and remains one of his signature recordings.

Swift's message was met with what appeared to be a mix of cheers and boos, according to a viral TikTok video. "Not the reaction they were expecting I'm assuming," the creator captioned the clip.
"Now do the video showing how they cheered so loudly," one user commented.
Another added, "There was applause, and later boo's [sic]. They booed longer so they can go viral."

Others decided it was insulting, not just to Swift but to Jackson as well.
"imagine booing someone giving a tribute to the person you're AT THE CONCERT FOR they weren't disrespecting Taylor, they were disrespecting Alan."
"Absolutely insulting to her and especially to Alan Jackson," another said.

Swift has long cited Jackson as one of the country artists she admired growing up, and the two have shared several notable moments over the years. One of the most memorable came in 2008, when Swift performed Jackson's emotional hit "Drive (For Daddy Gene)" as part of "CMT Giants: Alan Jackson," a television special honoring his career.
Swift also honored Jackson at the 2011 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony, performing his 9/11 anthem "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" as part of the tribute celebrating his songwriting achievements.

Three people were killed and a dozen more hurt following numerous shootings throughout Chicago over the weekend.
Fox News Digital compiled data from the Chicago Police Department beginning at 5 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
In total, 15 people were shot within the three-day period. The shooting victims range from 17 to 57 years old.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order creating the "Office of Gun Violence Reduction" on Thursday.
He said, "From day one in office, my number one priority has been driving down violence and breaking the cycles of trauma and despair which have disrupted the lives of countless Chicagoans—with this executive order we are bringing together every tool at our disposal to save lives and build safer communities."
Less than two hours after Johnson's executive order was signed last week, Chicago police said two people were killed after an unknown suspect opened fire; the shooting is still under investigation.
"Two male victims were discovered in the rear of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds to the body," the report said.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Gov. JB Pritzker and Johnson on multiple occasions for comment regarding the gun violence in the city and has not yet heard back.
Trump voters say costs are crushing their wallets — but look past president for blame
Supporters attending President Donald Trump's rally on the National Mall acknowledged feeling the pinch from higher gas prices, but they largely declined to blame Trump — instead pointing to the Iran conflict and lingering frustration with inflation under former President Joe Biden.
"My least favorite president ran gas up to about $5 a gallon for no reason, and that was Mr. Biden," said Billy of North Carolina.
Fox News Digital spoke with Americans who gathered on the National Mall Wednesday evening for President Donald Trump's rally kicking off the "Great American State Fair" celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary, where attendees weighed in on whether they are feeling pain in their pockets as affordability concerns loom over the war with Iran and midterm elections in November.
"Affordability has a lot to do with just interest rates that went up the highest in 48 years under President Biden, so it's going to take some time to get those prices back down to where we were before that," said James McNair of Maryland.

"I'm not that concerned about the affordability thing. I think that our president is probably the best businessman to ever be president, and things will turn," said added James’ brother, David.

Many attendees shared that while they recognize gas prices are high, they attribute the recent spike to the escalating conflict with Iran—a development they continue to support.

"I don't think the prices in general have gotten any worse than when Biden was in the administration," said Lisa of Maryland.
Before the war, the national average price of gasoline was $2.98 per gallon. Prices climbed to a peak of $4.56 per gallon in late May before gradually declining to $3.87 per gallon by the end of June.
Lisa and her husband, Matt, both served in the Army and expressed diverging opinions on affordability and Trump’s handling of Iran.
"Prices have definitely gone up and they do get my attention," said Matt of Maryland.
Matt shared that his drill sergeants were warning him of being deployed to Iran back in 1985. "Here we are today in 2026, still dealing with this problem."
"If we're worried about gas prices, we're going to be worrying again and again and again until we get a handle on regimes that just don't share our values," said Matt.

Norma Holm of Indiana also said she believed Iran would eventually have to be dealt with and that it was better to address the issue head-on than leave it for the next generation.
"We are taking it for the team with the gas prices and everything else, but things are stabling, and President Trump, don't underestimate him."
Washington and Tehran agreed to halt military strikes in the region with delegations scheduled to meet June 30 in Doha, Qatar for talks.
Other attendees are hoping that a resolution to the Iran conflict will lead to lower prices.
"As the Iran war comes to an end and the peace deal hopefully gels, we'll see. I think gas prices are already coming down, not tremendously, not where we would like to see, but those things take time," said James of New York.

The tension in the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Forbidden Door main event was palpable. Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament final with a shot at the AEW World Championship on the line at All In.
Ospreay vowed to live up to his dream of competing at Wembley Stadium in London. Strickland was hoping to play the spoiler in order to get the AEW world title back around his waist. The match would be a bloody affair between two of the top stars in the company.

Strickland knew what the gameplan was. He needed to slow Ospreay’s attack down to a snail’s pace and bring the match to him rather than trying to match the agility of his opponent. For the most part, he curtailed Ospreay’s attack. But as the match wore on, the hits got harder, both men were bleeding and one man had his hand raised in the end.
Both men gave it their all. With blood dripping down their faces, Osprey and Strickland stared each other down in the ring. Ospreay had The Death Riders cheering him on at ringside while Strickland had Prince Nana in his corner. It was coming down to the end.

Strickland hit the House Call but the strength in Ospreay’s neck appeared to take the hit. With all his might, Osprey ramped back up and hit Strickland with a Hidden Blade and a lariat Hidden Blade but Strickland kicked out of the pin.
Ospreay hit a Paradigm Shift, a Death Rider and a Tiger Driver. Finally, he was able to get the pin on Strickland. Ospreay is going to All In.
The Death Riders were in shock as they joined Ospreay in celebration in the ring.
If All In was tomorrow, Ospreay would be facing MJF for the AEW World Championship on Aug. 30. There’s still a lot of time for that opponent to change but for now Ospreay has his sights set on MJF.
De Blasio defends socialist 'insurgency' inside Democratic Party, says Trump has become 'status quo'
Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio defended a socialist "insurgency" inside the Democratic Party on Monday, insisting the change ushered in by figures like Mayor Zohran Mamdani is "bluntly needed" and evidence of disillusionment with the status quo.
"We needed a change because [of] what happened in 2024," de Blasio told "America's Newsroom."
"People saw the Democratic Party [as] part of the status quo that they did not like. Ironically, Trump seemed like the guy who was ready to break the status quo. Now the tables have turned. Trump is the status quo guy."
The New York Democrat likened Trump to former President Joe Biden, insisting that both leaders have been guilty of "defending" agendas that many Americans believe have not produced favorable results.
He argued that both presidents spoke positively about their agendas and the economy under their administrations, even as many Americans struggled and felt their needs had gone largely unaddressed.
"He's [Trump is] constantly talking about how great things are when people don't feel great... [he] seems out of touch with the day-to-day kitchen table reality of Americans, and he's doing things that, obviously, people are not into, like the war in Iran," de Blasio said.

De Blasio's remarks come as a group of far-left progressives and self-avowed Democratic socialists emerge victorious in primary races across the U.S.
In New York alone, a trio of Mamdani-backed candidates notched key victories, further signaling the leftward shift.
In Washington, D.C., Democratic socialist Janeese Lewis George defeated a more moderate opponent to claim the Democratic nomination in the race to succeed Mayor Muriel Bowser.
Progressive candidate Graham Platner won a key Senate primary in Maine and will go toe-to-toe against longtime incumbent Republican Sen. Susan Collins in November's midterms.
Democratic socialists have prevailed in other areas, including in Los Angeles, where far-left Nithya Raman will challenge incumbent Democrat Karen Bass in the mayoral race later this year, and in Colorado, where Democratic socialist Melat Kiros is challenging longtime incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette.
Vulture takeover sparks outrage as droppings coat homes, cars and sidewalks
Black vultures are increasingly invading neighborhoods across the United States, bringing foul-smelling droppings, property damage and outrage among residents, according to a new report.
Hillsborough, North Carolina has been ground zero, with countless complaints about the droppings, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The problem is more widespread, however. Black vultures have pushed farther north in recent years, with growing numbers fueling complaints over property damage, livestock attacks and other conflicts, according to the University of Georgia’s Kohl Wildlife Lab.

Experts say warmer winters, easy food sources, and the birds’ ability to thrive around people have all likely contributed to the expansion.
Bryan Watts, director of the Center for Conservation Biology at William & Mary, told Fox News Digital that feeding vultures can attract unexpectedly large numbers of birds.
"Feeding vultures can attract a following of hundreds — and more importantly, can create a bond to the site that is very hard to break," Watts said.
The phenomenon is not limited to residential neighborhoods, he noted. Vultures are often around landfills, community dumpsters and boat ramps where food is readily available.

"Once the birds are fixed to the site, they will often spend large amounts of time loafing," Watts said.
While vultures provide an important environmental service by consuming animal carcasses and other decaying material, their presence can create challenges when large groups gather in one place.
Black vultures have been known to damage property, according to Watts.
"They are attracted to other materials like windshield wipers and car trim, parts of house roofs ... and they will damage those," he warned.

The birds can also behave aggressively toward pets and livestock.
Complaints from residents have included reports of droppings accumulating on homes, vehicles, sidewalks and driveways. Some have described the vultures' waste as foul-smelling and capable of damaging surfaces over time, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The issue has sparked debate online, as many commenters have defended the birds despite the complaints.
"Vultures are incredibly important," one Reddit user wrote. "They are nature’s cleanup crew, and they help keep the world from becoming a much nastier place."

Others argue that vultures often gather in residential areas even when nobody is feeding them.
"We have a ton of vultures living in the pine trees behind our house in South Carolina," another commenter wrote. "None of us feed them."
Some commenters took a middle-ground position, saying vultures play an important role in the ecosystem but that intentionally feeding wildlife can create problems.
"Vultures are amazing animals," one user wrote. "All that said, [people] should not be feeding them."

Texas data breach hits 3M license customers
Buying a hunting or fishing license should feel like one of the safest things you do online. You pick the license, pay for it and get ready for your next trip outdoors. But now, a cyberattack tied to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has put personal information for more than three million license customers at risk.
The agency says the attack hit a vendor that handles the sale of hunting and fishing licenses. Texas Cyber Command detected the incident, and the state says an unauthorized actor may have obtained personal data from customer profiles. That is the part that should get your attention. Even when credit card numbers and Social Security numbers are spared, your license details, phone number and home address can still give scammers a lot to work with.

FBI WARNS MICROSOFT USERS ABOUT PASSWORDLESS SCAM
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says its license system vendor was hit by a cybersecurity incident.
The agency says the investigation found that an unauthorized actor may have obtained data tied to 3,087,721 Texas hunting and fishing license customers.
TPWD did not identify the vendor in its public notice. However, it says it has strengthened access controls for customer profile data and plans to add more security features.
In other words, this involved a state license system connected to millions of people.

That mix of data can help criminals sound convincing. A scammer who knows your name, phone number, home address and license-related details can make a fake call or email feel very personal.
The agency says Social Security numbers, dates of birth and financial information, including credit card details, were not obtained. TPWD also says there is no evidence that customers under 18 were involved or that any specific group was targeted.
Still, this breach should not be brushed off. Driver license information and passport numbers can create serious problems if they fall into the wrong hands.
Why this breach can still put you at risk
You might hear that hackers did not get credit card numbers and breathe a sigh of relief. I get that. But scammers do not always need your full financial file to cause trouble. Personal details can help them impersonate a state agency, a license vendor or even a bank. One message may claim there is a problem with your license account. Another may ask you to "verify" your identity. A fake link can also look official enough to trick someone who is moving fast.
That is where this kind of breach gets dangerous. The more a scammer knows about you, the easier it becomes to lower your guard. A fake message that includes accurate personal details can feel legitimate, especially if it shows up right after a public breach.
TPWD says immediate steps were taken to strengthen access controls for customer profile data. The agency also says it is working with the license system vendor to add more safeguards and enhanced monitoring.
In a statement to CyberGuy, TPWD said, "We recognize the seriousness of this issue and have identified and implemented additional security options to better protect customer information. Many of our staff are hunters and anglers and were affected by this incident. We are committed to working with the license system vendor to implement increased safeguards."
TPWD also said license sales will continue on schedule for August and the next license year, adding that it believes "current and future customer data are not at risk."
That means customers should be able to buy hunting and fishing licenses as planned while the state works through the fallout from the breach.
If you bought a Texas hunting or fishing license, use this breach as a reason to check your accounts and tighten your identity protections.
Affected customers can confirm eligibility for one year of free credit monitoring by calling the dedicated response line at 844-959-7123.
The enrollment deadline is Sept. 14, 2026. The call center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT.
Do not wait for a suspicious charge or strange letter to show up. Breach cleanup works best when you act before someone tries to use your information.

This breach does not appear to involve passwords, but scammers may use exposed personal details to target your other accounts. Use a password manager to create strong, unique passwords. Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for important accounts, especially email, banking and shopping accounts.

Use the official response line, sign up for monitoring if you qualify, freeze your credit and be extra careful with any surprise message about your license or identity. The vendor may have been the target, but Texans are the ones left watching their information.

Sandy Alcantara's dominant stretch makes the Marlins a smart moneyline bet against the Rockies
Baseball is one of those sports where anything can happen. Any given day a bad team can beat a powerhouse. I always advocate for bettors to be extremely cautious when playing big favorites. Just because a Cy Young winner is on the mound doesn't mean we should be betting on them automatically. Obviously, it gives you a better chance to win, but it guarantees nothing. I do think we have a great opportunity with one on the mound today as the Miami Marlins play the Colorado Rockies.
The Marlins have been doing a solid job this season of making it all work out. Despite being in a top market for desirability, the team tends to avoid paying players. They are constantly retooling and don't really want to invest in players. That doesn't mean they have no talent on the roster. Actually, it is quite the opposite. They have a lot of good young talent, and when it clicks, they can make deep runs into the postseason. Overall, they are 44-40 for the season, but they need to learn how to win on the road at 16-23 for the year.
It will be interesting to see if the team keeps their players at the deadline, seeing as how they are above .500. Sandy Alcantara takes the hill tonight, and he will be dangled in trade talks regardless of how well the Marlins are doing. They don't want to pay him, and he is going to look for a good contract. He is 8-4 for the season with a 4.01 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. Those aren't his Cy Young numbers, but they are decent enough. He has also shown flashes of his dominant form. He has thrown five straight quality starts for the Marlins, and his first start of this season was a seven-inning, one unearned run on four hits performance against the Rockies.
The Rockies are in the midst of yet another losing season. There are very few franchises in worse spots than the Rockies and the Los Angeles Angels. They are almost 20 games under .500 at 33-51, but they are surprisingly good at home this year. They are 18-22 for the year in Colorado. I'm interested to see how they act at the trade deadline because there aren't a ton of guys you'd want to go after, and a lot tend to be viewed as having inflated numbers from playing at Coors Field. Their pitching remains a problem and the team has an ERA of 5.47.
Tonight, the team turns to Sean Sullivan, who is 0-2 with an 8.25 ERA in three starts. His first one wasn't terrible as he went three innings against the Athletics and allowed just two hits. He then allowed eight runs to the Chicago Cubs in four innings of work. His third start was against the Boston Red Sox, and this was the first start of his career in Colorado. He went five innings, allowed three earned runs on five hits and five walks. It probably should've been a worse start for him.
The total is one I have mixed feelings about. The 11.5 is a reasonable number, but I think it could be a sweat either way. Sullivan is going to give up some runs, but you just don't know if it will be three or if it will be ten. I think Alcantara will allow just a few runs.
I think the best play is to grab the Marlins on the moneyline. Looking at the team, they are in solid form at the moment, having won four of the past five. I would advise not playing it if it gets much higher than the -140 I've taken it at. We aren't getting the best number anymore, so just be cautious. I also like Alcantara at 5+ strikeouts at -116.

Twelve men walked through "death’s door" on Sunday night at All Elite Wrestling's (AEW) Forbidden Door with two goals in mind.
Mark Briscoe and his five team members were hoping to beat AEW world champion MJF and the five members that had been forced to support him in a steel cage match. If Briscoe’s team won, Briscoe would receive an AEW World Championship match against MJF.

AEW debuted a circular cage to keep all 12 men housed in. The unique setup brought its own type of dangerous fun for each of the competitors. Thumbtacks were introduced into the mix, Kyle O’Reilly used a Nintendo Entertainment System as a weapon, Kevin Knight was shocked at the top of the cage and fell through a few tables and even Lio Rush made an appearance.
It all came down to whether Team Briscoe would be able to conquer the Don Callis Family and MJF. Andrade El Idolo, who was supposed to back MJF, had his own chance to put Briscoe away. But he refused to take orders from MJF and took off his "Team DCMJF" shirt to reveal some gear with some expletives aimed at the champion and Don Callis.

Mercedes Moné wins Owen Hart Women's Tournament at AEW Forbidden Door, earns All In title shot
Mercedes Moné returned to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) to take on the challenge of winning the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament for a second time and earning a title shot at All In.
On Sunday night at Forbidden Door, Moné proved again why she’s one of the best pro wrestlers in the world. She defeated upstart contender Maya World in the final.

World built momentum going into the match after the devastating loss of her brother. She defeated Skye Blue and Athena to get to the match against Moné. But her Cinderella run came to an abrupt end at the hands of Moné.
The fans seemed to be behind Moné as she taunted World at the start of the match. However, the two put on a great performance in front of the crowd in San Jose, California.

World pulled out all the stops – complicated pinning combinations, elaborate hard-hitting moves and even kicked out of Moné’s toughest slams. By the end of the match, the crowd was split on who they were rooting for in the match. Moné was trying not to get caught off guard by some of World’s maneuvers. At one point, World hit Moné with a sunset flip powerbomb onto the floor and a springboard moonsault.
Still, the "CEO" would not stay down.
Moné kicked out of a pin attempt. Moné hit a backstabber into a crossface. She made World tap out.
It’s the first time any AEW wrestler has won the Owen Cup twice. She’s done it in back-to-back years. Last year, she came up short against Toni Storm for the AEW World Women’s Championship.
Now, she’ll have to go up against Thekla should the "Toxic Spider" still be the champion come August.
