Mets, Rangers agree to swap All-Stars Brandon Nimmo and Marcus Semien in blockbuster deal: report
The New York Mets and Texas Rangers reportedly agreed to a trade involving a couple of All-Stars on Sunday to kickstart their offseason.
The Mets will acquire second baseman Marcus Semien, while outfielder Brandon Nimmo will head to the Rangers, according to ESPN.
New York’s middle infield will feature Semien, a three-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glover and Silver Slugger, and Francisco Lindor.

Meanwhile, the Rangers add some veteran presence to a young outfield in Texas following a mediocre 81-81 campaign in 2025.
For the Mets, it is an interesting move considering Nimmo being a homegrown product who signed an eight-year deal reportedly worth $162 million in December 2022 to remain with the team long term. Nimmo was also the Mets’ longest-tenured player and a fan-favorite.

Semien, 35, is still owed $26 million per season for the next three seasons. However, does Nimmo’s departure put New York in the running for top outfield talent like Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger?
The Mets certainly know how to make splashes in this Steve Cohen Era, most notably Juan Soto joining the team on an MLB-record deal this past offseason.
That said, the Mets also have two key free agents — closer Edwin Diaz and first baseman Pete Alonso — who fans would love to see back in orange and blue next season.
For the Rangers, Nimmo joins an outfield with solid young talent, including Wyatt Langford and Evan Carter.
Nimmo has spent all 10 seasons of his career with the Mets, his latest seeing a .262 average with a .760 OPS over 155 games. The left-handed hitter has slashed .262/.438/.802 with 135 homers and 463 RBI over his 1,066 regular-season games with New York over those 10 seasons.
Meanwhile, Semien is coming off a year with a .230/.305/.364 slash line with 15 homers and 62 RBI over 127 games. While it has been some struggle at the plate, Semien provides great defense at his position over his 13 years in the league, which included time with the then-Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays.
With the Winter Meetings set for Dec. 8-11, both teams could be gearing up for a busy offseason after this blockbuster move.

Giants star slams team's decisions late in loss to Lions
Malik Nabers, the New York Giants’ sidelined star wide receiver, unleashed on his team in a since-deleted social media post following their overtime loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Nabers appeared to take issue with the team’s play-calling in the fourth quarter when the team opted to go for it on fourth down up three points. The Giants turned the ball over and the Lions drove down the field and tied the game on a Jake Bates 59-yard field goal.

"Sometimes I think they (be) making us lose on purpose!" he wrote on X. "Cause it’s no way, bro you throw the ball instead of runnin it to make em burn 2 timeouts?? Then you (don’t) kick the field goal??? Then they have to go down and score!!! Football common sense!!!! Am I missing something?"
Nabers deleted the post, but not before NFL media and fans alike took a screenshot.
The drive in question saw the Giants run 14 plays for 86 yards without yielding any points. Jameis Winston’s pass to Theo Johnson in the end zone was incomplete.
Detroit got the ball back and Jared Goff led the team on a 13-play, 53-yard drive. Bates kicked the game-tying field goal. The Giants didn’t have an answer and the game went into overtime.
The Lions ran one play in overtime and scored a touchdown. Goff found Jahmyr Gibbs, who took the ball 69 yards for the go-ahead score. New York couldn’t match it and the Lions were able to hold on for the 34-27 win.
Nabers has been out of action since he suffered a torn ACL on Sept. 28 in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Giants are now 2-10 on the year and are officially eliminated from playoff contention.

British teen says urine, glue chucked at him while trying to carry on Charlie Kirk's legacy in UK
A 17-year-old British conservative activist known as "Young Bob" online says he has received death threats and has been violently attacked while championing Turning Point UK’s message.
Thomas Moffitt’s latest ordeal erupted on Nov. 20 at the London School of Economics (LSE) after he was invited by the university’s Conservative Society to discuss the need for socially conservative values in Britain.
"We were invited on to speak about socially conservative values. Within about an hour, people were taking pictures with us, some people were genuinely debating in good faith," Moffitt told Fox News Digital.
"Then afterwards, outside of that hour frame that we had some decent discussions, we had a bunch of masked-up activists, firstly, trying to steal our materials, and then secondly, trying to protest with a megaphone."

He said angry demonstrators also mocked the death of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a central figure in conservative youth politics, while trying to remove the group from campus.
"In their eyes, it must have just been seen as them trying to commit some sort of humiliation ritual," Moffitt added. "We’re trying to continue Charlie’s fight here in the U.K."

He called the protesters' chants "a very demoralized way of essentially mocking the death of a great man."
Kirk, who founded TPUSA in 2012 to mobilize young conservatives, was shot and killed earlier this year while addressing an audience on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Over time, Kirk's outreach has inspired international chapters, including Turning Point UK and Turning Point Australia.

Kirk previously spoke in Britain at events such as the Oxford Union, encouraging conservative student activism abroad.
Moffitt, who has been part of Turning Point UK for two years, said that violence and intimidation have followed the chapter's activism from the start.
"Throughout the duration of reporting for TPUK and doing stands on abortion, transgenderism and migration, we’ve had bottles of urine chucked at us, glue chucked at us, cans of beans chucked in my face," he said.

"On several occasions in Speaker’s Corner, which is sort of this free marketplace of ideas where you discuss about religion and politics, a man had a knife, threatened to kill me… I’ve had physical assaults, I've had people kick in my head, I’ve had people on social media threaten to kill me."
Despite the hostility, Moffitt remains determined to expand Kirk’s movement.

"We saw that, really, we can start to import what the U.S. was very successful in terms of preaching and evangelizing young people into conservatism," he said.
"I think that we should take this momentum and opportunity and kind of grow out TPUK," he continued, saying Kirk "would have loved to see the format that he made popular in the U.K."
"We must continue the fight regardless of what country we’re in, because the West needs conservatism," he added.
"If I were… ever able to have the opportunity to speak to Erika [Kirk], I would firstly give huge admiration towards her husband on the formula and ideas that I [drew] great inspiration from," Moffitt said.
Southern universities reportedly see massive influx of Northeast students seeking sunshine and Greek life
Students from the Northeast are heading South in record numbers, drawn by universities where sunshine, football and Greek life define campus life.
Rather than chasing the Ivy League dream, many students are now opting for schools in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), which consists of 16 schools including the University of South Carolina (USC), the University of Alabama, the University of Mississippi and the University of Tennessee, The Sunday Times reported.
Between 2014 and 2023, SEC colleges saw a 91% increase in undergraduate students from northeastern states, according to The Sunday Times, citing government data.
USC alone is up 90% over that same period.
USC hit a record this year with more than 40,000 students. Out-of-state enrollment has jumped 58% over the past decade, largely from the Northeast, as the school's student body has grown 46%, according to The Sunday Times.
The largest pipelines are from North Carolina, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, The Sunday Times reported.
"All my friends are from [New] Jersey, [Philadelphia], New York, Maryland," Sean Carroll, a 21-year-old USC senior from New York, told The Sunday Times. "People always ask me, ‘was it a culture shock?’ but there’s so many people from the north that you don’t even realize you’re in South Carolina. It’s just so trendy."
Carroll, a member of USC’s Chi Psi fraternity, said only ten of its 200 members are from south of Virginia.

"Northern fraternities hang with northern fraternities, southern with southern," Carroll told The Sunday Times. "Even the tailgate lots are divided."
Meanwhile, Cameron McManus, a high school senior from the Washington, D.C., suburbs, recently told Fortune Magazine he had been eyeing Clemson University, USC or the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after seeing TikTok and Instagram videos featuring sports, Greek life and warm weather.
"You can be outside all months of the year," McManus said.
Since 2019, applications to Southern colleges have risen 50%, compared to less than 30% for schools in New England and the mid-Atlantic, Fortune Magazine reported, citing Common Application data.

The rise stems from the growing appeal of Southern schools and tougher competition for the nation’s most elite universities, as students now apply to more colleges than ever, according to Fortune Magazine.
As competition intensifies, some Southern states have moved to preserve access for local students. Clemson’s acceptance rate has fallen from 52% to 38% in a decade, The Sunday Times reported.
North Carolina now caps out-of-state enrollment at 18%, while Texas offers guaranteed admission to its public universities for the top 10% of high school graduates, according to The Sunday Times.
USC, SEC and a spokesperson for the New England Board of Higher Education did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
Archaeologists retrieve first treasure items from $20B 'Holy Grail' shipwreck off Colombia
Archaeologists in Colombia have retrieved the first items from the fabled San José galleon, a wreck known as the "Holy Grail of shipwrecks" due to its sheer amount of treasure.
The galleon, which sank in the Caribbean Sea in 1708 during an attack by a British fleet, has been the subject of intense scrutiny and international disputes since it was discovered in 2015.
The shipwreck is believed to contain about 11 million gold and silver coins, along with emeralds and other valuable cargo. Its treasure is worth as much as $20 billion.
The San José was carrying chests full of jewels and gold coins when it sank on its way to King Philip V of Spain.

On Thursday, Colombia's culture ministry announced that archaeologists have recovered a porcelain cup, three coins and a cannon from the site.
Pictures released by the government show President Gustavo Petro marveling at the ancient bronze cannon that was retrieved, which has remained in remarkable condition.

The recently-announced artifacts represent just a fraction of what the ship was carrying when it sank over 300 years ago.
Colombia and Spain have both claimed ownership rights to the treasure. Colombia is in arbitration litigation with Sea Search Armada, a group of U.S. investors that claims it discovered the wreck in 1982.
The wreckage's exact location has been kept a state secret, and it lies nearly 2,000 feet deep in the sea.

Petro's government has affirmed that the deep-water expedition is focused on research, not treasure hunting.
Though the San Jose galleon remains the world's most valuable known shipwreck, other notable maritime discoveries have surfaced in 2025.
This summer, a group of marine experts determined the exact location of Captain James Cook's HMS Endeavour, the ship used to reach the eastern coast of Australia.
In June, officials unveiled the deepest-recorded shipwreck in French waters, off the coast of Ramatuelle. The ship still retained ancient cargo, including well-preserved porcelain.

Jameis Winston has play of the year candidate after insane touchdown catch-and-run despite Giants loss
The New York Giants may have fallen to the Detroit Lions in overtime, but quarterback Jameis Winston is a strong candidate for Play of the Year, and you’ll never guess what he did.
Winston, the journeyman quarterback who has started the past two games for New York with rookie Jaxson Dart in concussion protocol, showcased some Giants trickery on the opening drive of the matchup in Detroit. He received a pass back before launching a 39-yard touchdown to Wan’Dale Robinson to get on the board first.
But that wasn’t even the best trick play called by interim head coach Mike Kafka, as the fourth quarter saw a play where Winston scored a 33-yard touchdown of his own, and he needed to show off some impressive jukes in the process.

The play occurred with 12:16 left in the fourth quarter, when Gunner Olszewski took the ball from Winston, who started a run down the left sideline. Olszewski was looking his way, but he didn’t immediately throw it. He had to wait before throwing a strike to Winston, who had a defender on him.
But instead of just going down, Winston shimmied, threw a stiff-arm, and stayed on his feet to allow himself a walk-in touchdown. It was an incredible play for the 31-year-old, as the Giants went wild during the touchdown celebration.
At the time, it was a massive score for New York, as it gave the team a 10-point lead over the Lions following the extra point. Many believed this game would be a blowout because the Giants had been struggling at 2-9 entering the game.
But Winston and the Giants’ offense held a 20-17 lead at halftime and again early in the fourth quarter.
GIANTS USE TRICK PLAY TO SCORE EARLY TOUCHDOWN VS LIONS
The aforementioned Robinson finished the game with 156 yards on nine receptions, while Theo Johnson (77 yards) and Tyrone Tracy Jr. (68 yards) also had big games through the air. Winston threw for 366 yards on 18 completions and also found Isaiah Hodgins for a touchdown grab in the first half.
But the Lions’ offense is a hard one to tame, especially No. 0 in the backfield.
Jahmyr Gibbs was the main reason for the Giants’ loss, as the Lions’ superstar running back had a whopping 219 yards on the ground with two long touchdown runs, while hauling in 11 passes for 45 yards and a score as well. It was a three-touchdown game and 264 total yards from scrimmage, and Amon-Ra St. Brown added 149 yards on nine grabs with his own touchdown for Detroit.
The game eventually went to overtime after Jake Bates nailed a 59-yard kick to tie it at 27 apiece with a few ticks left in regulation. Then, Gibbs needed just one play to go 69 yards past the Giants’ defense into the end zone to take the 34-27 lead.
Winston and the Giants got their own possession in overtime, moving the ball into Lions territory, but it was all for naught after Aidan Hutchinson sacked the quarterback on fourth down to end the game.
The Giants fell to 2-10, while the Lions improved to 7-4, despite the scare Winston and company gave them on Sunday.

Jasmine Crockett calls out Marjorie Taylor Greene for resigning from Congress amid Trump feud
Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, reacted on Sunday to news that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., was resigning from Congress and slammed her Republican colleague for quitting amid harsh criticism from President Donald Trump.
"You know what? Honestly, I was like, you've got to be kidding me. You're on the other side of the president for one week, and you can't take the heat. Imagine what it is to sit in my shoes, to not only be on the opposite side of him, but to have people like her who are constantly fanning the flames of hate, and imagine what those threats look like when you literally are someone like me," Crockett told anchor Jake Tapper on CNN's "State of the Union."
Trump withdrew his endorsement of Greene earlier this month and called her "a ranting lunatic." Greene, who had been a staunch ally of the president, recently broke with him on the Department of Justice releasing files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, among other issues.

Tapper noted that Greene's push to release the Epstein files — which resulted in Trump calling her a "traitor" — seemed to be where the split between the two began.
"Listen, he's upset with [Rep.] Thomas Massie, and so he's gone after him. He's upset with [Rep. Lauren] Boebert, he's upset with any Republican that actually signed the discharge petition," Crockett responded, in reference to Trump attacking House GOP members who were in favor of releasing the files. "But somehow, they were able to weather the storm," she added.
"This really speaks to the fact that Marjorie, who has been an instigator of a lot of this hate that we see as it relates to the MAGA movement. It's just interesting that I don't know if she really fully understood how bad she was making it for other people," Crockett continued. "And now that they’re doing it to her, I just got to say, well, why is it that everyone else is able to stand, and you can't?"

Greene announced her resignation in a lengthy statement posted to X on Friday, citing her growing disillusionment with Washington politics and blasting what she called a corrupt "Political Industrial Complex," that she alleged uses Americans as "pawns in an endless game of division."
"Americans are used by the Political Industrial Complex of both political parties, election cycle after election cycle, in order to elect whichever side can convince Americans to hate the other side more," Greene wrote. "And the results are always the same — nothing ever gets better for the common American man or woman."
During an interview on CNN last Sunday, Greene apologized for taking part in "toxic politics," and expressed hope that she and Trump could make up.

Greene's office did not immediately return a request for comment.
Shedeur Sanders delivers bold message ahead of first start with Browns
Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a bold message for fans and teammates before he took the first snaps of the game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Sanders made his long-awaited first NFL start on Sunday against the Raiders. He was moved up to No. 1 on the depth chart after Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion in Week 11.

He spoke to CBS’ Tiffany Blackmon before he stepped onto the field.
"I’m who they been looking for," Sanders said with a smirk.
Sanders talked about the opportunity to finally get his first career start, too.

Sanders and the Browns started on offense first and punted on their first drive. On the second drive, the Browns were set up in Raiders territory. The team only used running back Quinshon Judkins on the drive. He eventually scored on a direct snap from 8 yards out.
The former Colorado standout got his first taste of NFL action last week against the Baltimore Ravens.
He was 4-of-16 with 47 yards and an interception.

Manhunt launched for convicted 'Slender Man' stabber who cut off monitoring bracelet and fled facility
Authorities have launched a manhunt for Morgan Geyser, the Wisconsin woman convicted in the 2014 "Slender Man" stabbing, after she cut off her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet and fled a Madison group home Saturday night, police said.
The Madison Police Department announced Geyser’s escape in a social media post on Sunday.
"Morgan Geyser was last seen in the area of Kroncke Dr. around 8 p.m. with an adult acquaintance. Her whereabouts are unknown as of Sunday morning," the department wrote. "The Madison Police Department was notified of her disappearance Sunday morning.
"A recent image of Geyser, captured on security video from this past month, is attached below. If you see her, please call 911," police added.
In 2017, Geyser pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide in the violent stabbing of Payton Leutner, but claimed she was not responsible due to her mental illness.
She told investigators she tried to kill Leutner to please the horror character Slender Man and was ultimately found not guilty by reason of mental defect.
Geyser and her friend, Anissa Weier, were 12 when they lured Leutner into a wooded park during a sleepover in May 2014. Geyser, encouraged by Weier, stabbed Leutner 19 times.
WISCONSIN GIRL, 15, SENTENCED IN SLENDER MAN STABBING CASE
Leutner miraculously survived the attack.
Geyser has been in custody at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute for the last seven years.
She was initially sentenced to 40 years in the psychiatric hospital and was permitted to ask the court to consider her conditional release every six months.
Police told local outlet WMTV that Geyser was staying at a group home in Madison before she disappeared.

Deion Sanders shares emotional moment with son, Shedeur, before Browns rookie's first NFL start
All eyes are on Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders as he makes his first NFL start against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon.
A pair of those eyes include his Hall of Fame father, Deion Sanders, who was spotted at Allegiant Stadium as his son walked the tunnel out to the field with the Browns.
They shared a father-son moment, where they inaudibly spoke to each other as Coach Prime had a big smile on his face, tapping his son’s helmet.

Then, Shedeur Sanders gave a quick speech to his teammates before running out onto the field.
"The work’s already been done, bro. We already worked for this s—. You feel me? It’s us. Let’s do it. I believe in y’all. Y’all believe in me. Let’s do it," he said.
Sanders hyped up the crowd as he ran out onto the field in Las Vegas and started to take it all in. From there, it was time to warm up.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski made the announcement that Sanders would be starting for his team on Sunday, as Dillon Gabriel is in concussion protocol. Gabriel, who Stefanski went with over Sanders after the trade of Joe Flacco, did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
Though Gabriel was able to practice on Friday, he was ruled out with Bailey Zappe being named Sanders' backup.
Snaders made his regular season debut this past week in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens, where he didn’t have the best outing. The Colorado product threw for only 47 yards on 4-of-16 passing with an interception thrown.
But Sanders had very limited first-team reps during practice last week, and he was thrown into the fire against an aggressive Ravens defense in the 23-16 defeat. However, Sanders had the full week of practice with the thought that he would start, and now that opportunity presents itself against a 2-8 Raiders team.
The Browns’ quarterback position is wide open, and now Sanders, who was a fifth-round pick after many believed he would be gone on night one in Green Bay, has the chance to cement himself as Cleveland’s guy for the remainder of the season.
