Sen Blackburn fires back at Democrats over ‘disturbing’ video urging troops to defy 'illegal' orders
Democratic lawmakers released a video urging service members to defy "illegal" orders. It’s a message Republicans are not taking lightly.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn blasted the clip as "inconceivable," saying it stems from Democrats' hatred of President Donald Trump.
"They have stage four Trump Derangement Syndrome," Blackburn, R-Tenn., said Wednesday on "The Faulkner Focus."
"It is inconceivable that you would have elected officials that are saying to uniform members of the military who have taken an oath to protect and defend, that they would defy the orders that they have been given to execute their mission," she added.
The video was posted by Sen. Elissa Slotkin on Tuesday and viewed over 6.8 million times on X. It also includes Sen. Mark Kelly, Rep. Chris Deluzio, Rep. Maggie Goodlander, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan and Rep. Jason Crow, all of whom highlight their former service in the military and intelligence community.
They claimed that current threats to the Constitution are coming from within the country and directed military members to "refuse illegal orders" that violate it.
'THEY'RE EMBARRASSING US': NATIONAL GUARD PRESENCE IN DC SPARKS FIERY CAPITOL CLASH
"We want to speak directly to members of the Military and the Intelligence Community. The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution. Don’t give up the ship," wrote Slotkin on X.
Blackburn argued the Democrats behind the message are out of touch, saying Americans "want to see respect for the rule of law."
"I find this just so disturbing, that they would say, ‘defy the orders if you do not like the orders,’" Blackburn said.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth also weighed in, posting on X: "Stage 4 TDS."
Several lawmakers featured in the clip have recently introduced legislation aimed at limiting the president’s authority to deploy the National Guard domestically, a response to Trump’s use of the Guard in cities such as Washington and Chicago.
Their proposals would also restrict the president’s ability to take action against narco-terrorists without congressional approval. The White House has been targeting boats linked to narco-terrorist groups in an effort to crack down on drug trafficking.
Vanity Fair declares the end of the old-school movie star, the rise of Hollywood’s ‘vulnerable’ leading men
Vanity Fair’s latest "Hollywood Issue" declares the end of the idealized, hypermasculine movie star, arguing that today’s leading men have ushered in a new era of "vulnerability" and "accessibility."
The annual cover story, titled "The 2026 Hollywood Issue: Let’s Hear It For the Boys!" spotlights several of Hollywood’s biggest male actors, including Glen Powell, Andrew Garfield, Jonathan Bailey, Paul Mescal, Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler. The feature frames them as symbols of a cultural shift away from the industry’s "golden age" male archetype.
"In Hollywood’s golden age, studios turned regular men into secular gods: changing their names, hiding their flaws," opens the cover story, written by author Ottessa Moshfegh.
"The era of the remote matinee idol is over—and the dawn of the almost approachable, appealingly authentic modern actor is in full swing. Meet the new class of leading men," the story reads.
Moshfegh wrote, "They’re still fantasy men, yes, but boyfriend-shaped: accessible, kind, vulnerable, and recognizably human."
MEN ARE CRYING OVER A 1975 SHIPWRECK, AND IT SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT MODERN MASCULINITY
The article argues that the new generation of male stars, often called the "internet boyfriends," is intentionally designed to appear more relatable and emotionally available.
The once-untouchable movie stars, such as Tom Cruise or Marlon Brando, have been replaced by actors who share their feelings and intimate life details online.
"We want to know them, how they feel, what makes them tick," writes Moshfegh.
"We follow their playlists, their breakups, their skin-care routines."
The piece says Hollywood’s version of masculinity is now "expressive and safe," adding that "‘big d--- energy’ doesn’t mean dominance, but presence, sincerity, and authenticity."
But not everyone in the industry has agreed with Hollywood’s softer rebrand. Actor Anthony Mackie, known as Marvel’s new Captain America, has pushed back on the shift. He’s said that traditional masculinity still matters.
MASCULINITY WARS MISS THE POINT – HERE’S WHERE THE REAL BATTLE IS BEING FOUGHT
"In the past 20 years, we've been living through the death of the American male," Mackie said on "The Pivot Podcast" in March.
"They have literally killed masculinity in our homes and our communities, for one reason or another, but I raise my boys to be young men."
Whether audiences view Hollywood’s new leading man as progress or an overcorrection, Vanity Fair’s feature suggests the shift is here to stay.

'Naked' Doritos and Cheetos with no artificial dyes or flavors to hit the market soon, but are they healthier?
PepsiCo is stripping the color — but not the flavor — from two of America's favorite snacks.
In a Nov. 13 news release, the company announced it would introduce a line of "Simply NKD" branded Doritos and Cheetos, which are colorless and made without artificial flavors or dyes.
The new "naked" Doritos will come in the Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch flavors, while the Cheetos will be available in the Puffs and Flamin' Hot varieties.

The snacks will roll out to U.S. stores starting on Dec. 1.
In a statement, PepsiCo Foods U.S. CEO Rachel Ferdinando said that the regular packs of Doritos and Cheetos will "remain unchanged."
"NKD is an additive option, not a replacement, introduced to meet consumer demand," Ferdinando said.
"This move underscores our commitment to flavor leadership, demonstrating that our taste remains strong even without visual cues. As part of our broader transformation, we are expanding choices while still protecting our iconic brands. More choices, same flavor, same brand power."
Hernán Tantardini, chief marketing officer of PepsiCo Foods for the U.S., said that the new snacks may pioneer a "snacking revolution, or a renaissance."

"We are reinventing our iconic — and most famous — brands to deliver options with the bold flavors fans know and love, now reimagined without any colors or artificial flavors," Tantardini said.
Fox News Digital reached out to PepsiCo for additional comment.
Julie E. Health, a registered dietitian based in California, told Fox News Digital that she "loved" the decision and hopes that cereal brands take note.
"As a food expert and mom, I am thrilled to see companies realize they can take out the harmful chemicals and use things like sweet potatoes, carrots and other real food[s] to make snack chips," she said.

"When the biggest snack food companies make a turn toward health, that's a big message to parents and kids alike, and it makes it easier for parents to keep their kids safe."
Stephen Campolo, a fitness trainer and weight loss expert based in Naples, Florida, told Fox News Digital that the new products were "a smart response" to rising worries about hyperactivity and inflammation.
"Less junk in the ingredients is always a win for cleaner eating," Campolo said.

"But let's be real: these are still ultra-processed snacks loaded with refined carbs, sodium and empty calories that spike blood sugar and fuel fat storage."
Instead, Campolo said that the real game-changer for consumers is portion control.
"Stick to one small handful [of the snacks] and pair it with protein like nuts or cheese to blunt the carb crash," he advised.
"Treat them as an occasional indulgence, not a daily staple, and you'll protect your waistline without missing the crunch."
HHS youth gender care report authors defend findings amid backlash from medical organizations, caution risks
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Wednesday released an update to its May review of the evidence and best practices for children and teens with gender dysphoria, which addresses criticisms brought by major medical organizations like the American Psychiatric Association (APA).
The report, titled "Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices," released through the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, was originally published May 1 and commissioned under President Donald Trump's January executive order directing the HHS to "publish a review of the existing literature on best practices for promoting the health of children who assert gender dysphoria."
HHS's review synthesized existing systematic reviews on youth gender treatments and raised "serious concerns" about medical interventions such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries, listing potential risks that include "infertility/sterility, sexual dysfunction, impaired bone density accrual, adverse cognitive impacts, cardiovascular disease and metabolic disorders, psychiatric disorders, surgical complications, and regret."
The updated version identifies nine contributors — physicians, researchers and ethicists — and adds a supplement compiling nine post-publication peer reviews alongside the authors’ responses. It also includes minor corrections for clarity and formatting, as well as conflict-of-interest disclosures.
LEGAL GROUP SUES FDA OVER PUBERTY BLOCKER RECORDS, CITING BIDEN-ERA COVER-UP
Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow Leor Sapir and MIT philosopher Alex Byrne, two of the review's authors, told Fox News Digital that after "a months-long process of peer review" of the central findings of the May report, its core findings — that there is "very weak" evidence to support pediatric medical transition and that the evidence for harms is "stronger" — remains unchanged.
They argued that most existing research on youth gender medicine suffers from methodological flaws and bias.
"With a few notable exceptions, such as the Finnish research, studies in this field are of poor quality and tend to exaggerate the evidence of benefit and underreport harms," they said. "These studies usually come from the gender clinics themselves."
The authors said that even if stronger evidence existed, ethical and diagnostic challenges would remain.
FEDERAL JUDGE STRIKES DOWN BIDEN-ERA TRANSGENDER REGULATION
"There are no randomized controlled trials in pediatric gender medicine," they said.
"Even if there was high quality evidence for a favorable risk/benefit profile, the problem of diagnosis would remain," they continued. "Clinicians are unable to distinguish minors who may have a lifelong struggle with their sex from those for whom the distress is temporary or manageable through less invasive means."
The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) — an organization that provides clinical practice guidelines for treating people with gender dysphoria — the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the APA criticized the May report shortly after its release, claiming it misrepresented the medical consensus and lacked author identification.
In its update, HHS said it invited the AAP, APA, and Endocrine Society to participate in a peer review of the report. Only the APA agreed.
The APA’s review said HHS’s methodology wasn’t transparent enough to take its conclusions "at face value," citing missing author identification and insufficient detail about study selection and analysis.
TRANSGENDER 'TREND' SHARPLY DECLINING ON AMERICAN COLLEGE CAMPUSES, NEW ANALYSIS FINDS
The HHS responded that its process was documented in the report’s appendix and reviewed by two external experts, Dr. Trudy Bekkering and Prof. Patrik Vankrunkelsven of the Belgian Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, who found the methods "robust."
The agency also said the APA overlooked or mischaracterized several studies in its critique.
Sapir and Byrne said they welcomed scientific criticism but called the AAP and Endocrine Society’s refusal to participate "a missed opportunity."
"The AAP and Endocrine Society are strong supporters of pediatric medical transition and have led the medical community and the public to believe that these interventions are well supported," the authors said. "American children and their parents deserve the best possible care, and it’s unfortunate that prominent medical associations have consistently refused to address scientific criticism of their positions."

"We welcome criticism, especially from clinicians who support pediatric medical transition," they continued. "Because the AAP and Endocrine Society did not agree to take part, we decided to reply to two already-published critiques of the report, written by leading figures in the field of gender medicine. We explain why these critiques are full of fallacies and mistakes: people can read our replies and make up their own minds."
They also rejected claims that their review was politically motivated.
"Accusations of political motivation are a deflection," they said. "We are a politically diverse group, including Democrats. The process for writing this report was independent, from start to finish, and our only loyalty was to the principles of evidence-based medicine. The review is there for all to see and scrutinize, and it speaks for itself."
In a press release, National Institutes of Health Director Jay Bhattacharya hailed the report as a "turning point for American medicine."
"The evidence in it meticulously documents the risks the profession has imposed on vulnerable children. At the NIH, we are committed to ensuring that science, not ideology, guides America’s medical research," he added.
The AAP did not return Fox News Digital's request for comment.
A spokesperson for the Endocrine Society told Fox News Digital the organization did not participate in the HHS review because it was unclear about the peer review process but shared that it "supports access to evidence-based health care" for transgender youth.
The society said the HHS report emphasizes mental health care for this population, which is an "essential part" of the Endocrine Society's Clinical Practice Guidelines, but cautioned that decisions must be made holistically and individually, because "puberty-delaying medicine or hormone therapy could be a crucial part of their treatment plan and necessary to preserve their health."
It noted that such interventions are rare and that "fewer than 1 in 1,000 U.S. adolescents with commercial insurance received either treatment during the five-year period from 2018 to 2022," according to a January 2025 study from Harvard. The spokesperson noted that the 2017 Endocrine Society guideline recommends against puberty blockers or hormones in prepubertal children.
"The widely accepted view of the professional medical community is that medical treatment is appropriate for transgender and gender-diverse teenagers who experience persistent feelings of gender dysphoria. Medical studies show that access to this care improves the well-being of transgender and nonbinary people," a spokesperson added.

Teen suspect in custody after Howard University homecoming shooting leaves 5 wounded: police
Authorities have arrested a teen suspect in connection with a shooting at Howard University’s homecoming in Washington, D.C., last month.
Kaevaughn Dudley, 17, was taken into custody on Friday, Nov. 14, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). He is charged with five counts each of assault with intent to murder while armed, assault with intent to kill while armed, aggravated assault while armed and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and is being tried as an adult, police said.
The arrest stems from an Oct. 24 incident at Howard University’s Yard Fest event, in which nine men – dressed in black clothing and some wearing face masks – were observed walking in the area surrounding the campus, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the District of Columbia.
Officials allege the larger group encountered a second, smaller group of individuals – including a 13-year-old victim – and began yelling, "What’s up with ya’ll?" to which the other group replied, "Nothing," before continuing to walk away.
Shortly after the encounter, surveillance footage captured Dudley allegedly "walking several paces away from the victim’s group" before firing several shots at them using a handgun, according to officials.
Dudley allegedly struck five individuals, including the 13-year-old, before fleeing the scene, authorities said. Three adult males, one adult female and one juvenile male were injured in the shooting.
Officers who were already in the area to patrol the homecoming event reportedly heard the gunfire and responded to the scene immediately. They located five gunshot victims and subsequently transported them to a nearby hospital.
Officials also initially arrested two 19-year-old suspects immediately after the shooting for carrying a pistol without a license, but ultimately determined the pair were not suspects in the investigation, according to MPD.
While none of the victims attend Howard University, one individual is a Morgan State University student and is paralyzed from the chest down after being shot, according to authorities. The female victim remains in the hospital, MPD said.
Additionally, investigators recovered three handguns at the scene, including a privately made firearm Polymer 80, a Smith & Wesson SD9 2.0, 9mm and a Glock 19 9mm.
Howard University did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
Detectives ultimately combed through numerous surveillance cameras and hundreds of hours of footage to identify Dudley as a suspect in the shooting.
Dudley was located and taken into custody without incident by members of MPD’s Criminal Apprehension Unit on Friday, Nov. 14, according to the DOJ. He is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 18.
Fox News Digital was unable to immediately locate an attorney representing Dudley.
Mamdani backs candidate who called 9/11 ‘a terror attack that a couple of people did’
New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is backing a candidate for a state assembly seat who once described 9/11 as a terror attack that a "couple of people did."
News that the incoming mayor was backing Aber Kawas, a longtime Palestinian American activist, was revealed by a member of his mayoral transition team during a closed-door Democratic Socialists of America meeting in Manhattan last week, according to a NY Daily News report.
"[Mamdani] told me that while he has tremendous respect for everyone in this race, he has said that he will support Aber in whatever she pursues," top political advisor to the Mamdani transition, Sam McCann, said during the meeting, according to the newspaper.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Mamdani and has attempted to reach out to Kawas.
MAMDANI FORCED TO CLARIFY RELATIVE INVOKED IN VIRAL ISLAMOPHOBIA ANECDOTE AS QUESTIONS SWIRL
Since 2010, Kawas has been an organizer in the city's Arab and Muslim communities, the New York Post reported. She is reportedly trying to garner support from the DSA for a run in the 34th Assembly District in Queens.
That seat is being vacated by Assemblywoman Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, who will challenge Queens state Sen. Jessica Ramos, the Post reported.
Kawas has been linked to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has been accused of having ties to Hamas. On Tuesday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a proclamation designating CAIR as a foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organization.
"The system of capitalism and racism and white supremacy… and Islamophobia, have all been used to colonize lands, to take resources from other people and so this is a long trajectory and were just seeing the manifestations of that continuation with 9/11," she said in one unearthed clip posted on social media.
"The idea we have to apologize for a terror attack that a couple of people did and then there is no apology or reparations for genocides and for slavery… is something I find reprehensible," she added.
Charlotte-based NASCAR powerhouse bolsters ICE operations with dozens of vehicles
An arm of 15-time NASCAR Cup Series championship team Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) recently signed a contract with ICE that included the purchase of more than two dozen Chevrolet vehicles, according to multiple reports Wednesday.
Hendrick Motorsports Technical Solutions, the advanced manufacturing arm of one of auto racing’s most popular teams, underwent a refresh earlier this year and opened a 160,000-square-foot facility as a standalone business entity on the main Hendrick Motorsports campus in Concord, North Carolina – just over the Cabarrus County line from Charlotte.
The $1.5 million contract signed in October called Hendrick Motorsports "uniquely positioned to fulfill this requirement within the necessary timeframe, having confirmed immediate availability of vehicles that fully meet ICE’s specifications."
ICE originally authorized $2.25 million for the agreement, but the agency and motorsports company settled at a more conservative $1.5 million figure.
RAM PARTNERS WITH KAULIG RACING AS FACTORY TEAM FOR 2026 CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES COMEBACK
That funded 25 Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs to "enhance [DHS’] Title 8 operations in anticipation of surge staffing requirements" from FY-2026 through FY-2029, according to a copy of the contract viewed by Fox News Digital.
Hendrick Motorsports did not respond to a Fox News Digital request for comment, but a Hendrick Motorsports Technical Solutions spokesperson said in a statement to Charlotte’s CBS affiliate that the Chevys were provided to ICE unmodified and the sale was completed in full.
The contract was noncompetitive, as HMS informed the feds that they would be able to fulfill the full order immediately, and the contract cited an "urgent and compelling need" for the vehicles in explaining that aspect of the deal.
KAULIG RACING, RAM UNVEIL UNIQUE FREE AGENT PROGRAM FOR 2026 NASCAR TRUCK SERIES
The technical solutions arm of HMS was first established in 2019 and has made deals with several large-scale partners, including General Motors’ military subdivision.
In announcing their refreshed technical solutions arm in January, Hendrick Companies President Marshall Carlson said HMS founder Rick Hendrick’s vision "has always been about building for the future."
"He recognized Hendrick Motorsports Technical Solutions can be a leader in advanced manufacturing, serving customers with ultra-high requirements. His commitment ensures our team is prepared for long-term growth and success."
Hendrick driver Kyle Larson of California, piloting the #5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet, was named the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series champion earlier this month at Phoenix, narrowly beating veteran Joe Gibbs Racing star Denny Hamlin of Virginia and his #11 Progressive Insurance Toyota.
Hendrick driver Chase Elliott of Georgia was again named NASCAR’s most popular driver for 2025, with a reported 56% of fans supporting the #9 NAPA Chevrolet.
Elliott also won the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series championship.
HMS’ first four Cup Series championships were collected by now-company Vice Chairman Jeff Gordon – as he drove the #24 DuPont Chevrolet to top honors in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001.
HMS’ other current drivers in the Cup Series are Alex Bowman of Arizona in the #48 Ally Chevrolet and William Byron of North Carolina in the #24 Axalta Chevrolet.
IDF strikes Hamas 'terrorist targets' across Gaza following reported ceasefire violation
Israel’s military said it "began striking Hamas terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip" on Wednesday following the latest reported ceasefire violation.
"Earlier today, several terrorists opened fire toward the area where IDF soldiers are operating in Khan Younis. This action constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreement," the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
"In response, the IDF began striking Hamas terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip," it added, noting that no Israeli troops were injured in the incident.
"IDF troops in the Southern Command remain deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any imminent threat," Israel’s military said.
NETANYAHU CALLS ON NEIGHBORING NATIONS TO JOIN ISRAEL IN 'EXPELLING HAMAS' FROM REGION
The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect on Oct. 10.
The IDF also said Monday that it struck "terrorists operating in a Hamas training compound in the Ain al-Hilweh area in southern Lebanon."
"The compound was used by Hamas terrorists for training and exercises in order to plan and carry out terrorist attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel. Prior to the strike, several steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians," it added.
UN SECURITY COUNCIL BACKS TRUMP'S GAZA PEACE PLAN
The same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on neighboring nations to join in the Jewish state's fight to expel Hamas out of the region.
"Israel extends its hand in peace and prosperity to all of our neighbors and calls on them to normalize relations with Israel and join us in expelling Hamas and its supporters from the region," Netanyahu's office wrote on X.
The statement follows the United Nations Security Council's (UNSC) endorsement of President Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza. The council adopted the plan, which would end the war and deploy an international stabilization force, on Monday.

Teachers union president angered by Trump's effort to dissolve Department of Education, calls it 'illegal'
The president of the National Education Association (NEA) on Tuesday issued a stern warning about President Donald Trump’s latest moves to shutter the Department of Education.
"Donald Trump and his administration chose American Education Week, a time when our nation is celebrating students, public schools, and educators, to announce their illegal plan to further abandon students by dismantling the Department of Education," NEA President Becky Pringle said in a press release.
The NEA is the largest teachers union in the country that has over 2.8 million members.
THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN EXPOSED THE BIGGEST LIE IN EDUCATION
Earlier on Tuesday, the Trump administration announced that the Education Department signed a series of interagency agreements to shift power from some of its offices and programs to other federal agencies as it works to dismantle the federal department.
The Department of Education formed interagency agreements (IAAs) with the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services, the State Department, and the Department of the Interior to co-manage or take a growing role in managing certain offices and programs, according to a background call with the media.
TRUMP BEATS DEMOCRATS ON EVERY ISSUE. NOW, HE SHOULD SCHOOL THEM ON EDUCATION
"Not only do they want to starve and steal from our students — they want to rob them of their futures. Nothing is more important than the success of our students, and America’s educators and parents will not be silent as Trump and Linda McMahon turn their backs on our students, families, and communities to pay for billionaire tax cuts," Pringle said.
"Ensuring a brighter future for our children should be a top priority for any administration, but this administration is taking every chance it can to hack away at the very protections and services our students need," she continued. "Just last week, they went to the Supreme Court to avoid feeding families. And they’re still pushing to gut healthcare programs."
Secretary of Education Linda McMahon fired back on X, "'Stealing from students'? No. Opening up opportunity for more money to flow directly to students. ‘Robbing their futures’? Crazy. Have you seen our nation’s reading and math scores recently? ‘Neglecting the responsibility to educate our children’? Please. You know @usedgov doesn't educate a single child. If you’re upset about breaking up the bureaucracy that has failed, you should take a look in the mirror."
TRUMP DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ROLLS OUT LATEST STEP TO EXPAND SCHOOL CHOICE NATIONWIDE
Earlier in the year, the Department of Labor absorbed some of the ED's workforce programs as part of Trump’s broader effort to eliminate the department.
In March, McMahon laid off half of the department's workforce as part of the Trump administration's broader reduction in government efforts.
The Department of Education referred Fox News Digital to McMahon's X post when reached for comment.
