Convicted sex offender allegedly tried to kill woman he followed home from Nashville concert
A convicted sex offender was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attacking a Tennessee woman in her apartment building, police said.
Joequarius Williams, 29, is charged with the attempted murder and robbery of a 25-year-old woman whom he followed as she walked home after attending a Nov. 5 Bridgestone Arena concert, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said.
The unidentified woman told police she was walking home when she spotted a man following her from a distance. He followed her into her building and they both got into an elevator, police said.
Once inside, WIlliams grabbed the woman around her neck and allegedly said he was going to kill her.
"She lost consciousness briefly due to strangulation," a police statement said. "When she came to, the man was on top of her."
When the elevator door opened, she managed to break free and made a run for it, police said. Williams allegedly took her keys and cell phone, which investigators recovered outside the building.
Williams was nabbed after authorities analyzed fingerprints left on the items.
Williams was previously convicted of aggravated assault and attempted forcible rape of a 27-yearold woman from an August 2019 incident at a Glastonbury Road apartment complex, authorities said.
He was sentenced to probation and placed on Tennessee’s sex offender registry. Probation violation warrants are expected to be filed by the state, police said.
Williams remains jailed on a $10.1 million bond.

Sydney Sweeney revealed how she lost more than 30 pounds in seven weeks following the filming of her new movie, "Christy."
The 28-year-old actress underwent a dramatic physical transformation and trained intensely to play the legendary boxer Christy Martin in the biographical sports drama. But afterward, she had a short turnaround to lose the excess weight before filming her upcoming movie, "The Housemaid," and the third season of her hit HBO series "Euphoria."
During a new interview with People magazine, Sweeney explained how she quickly shed the pounds.

"I had to be really strict with myself," she said.
"When I was training, it was really hard to put on all the weight. I was eating so much food. Like, everything you could possibly imagine," Sweeney continued. "And then I was downing protein shake after protein shake and taking a lot of creatine, which just makes you bloat."
The "White Lotus" star told the outlet that she "stopped all of that" to achieve the leaner physique required for the two roles.
"When you stop working out and taking all your protein shakes, you lose muscle super fast," Sweeney noted. "It's the first thing to go before fat. So that, I dropped within two weeks."
Sweeney shared that she adhered to a "super clean" diet and did "a lot of cardio" during the limited window before production on the projects began.
The actress said that her intense preparations for "Christy" might be "the one and only" time that she undergoes a major physical transformation for a role.
However, she said that she was fortunate that her "metabolism works really well."

While Sweeney explained that dropping the weight quickly wasn't "super easy," she noted that she's "been a very active person my entire life."
"Like, I was a super active kid, and I've always kind of just stayed active and always had a good metabolism," Sweeney added. "I can gain weight, but I can lose it too."
In September, Sweeney shared details of her transformation for "Christy."

"I trained for two or three months before [filming]. I had a boxing coach," she said in a video shared on social media during the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). "I had weight trainers, I had nutritionists. I trained three times a day, every day. And then while I was filming, I trained as well."
"A lot of Chick-fil-A – a lot," "Anyone But You" star agreed. "A lot of Smucker's, a lot of milkshakes, a lot of protein shakes."

"But it was incredible being able to completely embody such a powerful woman," she added. "I felt even stronger. It was truly inspiring."
"Christy" tells the story of Martin, nicknamed the "Coal Miner’s Daughter," and her rise from small-town West Virginia to becoming one of the most recognizable female boxers of the 1990s.
The film also explores Martin’s troubled relationship with her boxing trainer and husband, Jim Martin (Ben Foster). Their marriage involved codependency, drug abuse, financial scandal, and physical and psychological violence. Martin's tale is also one of survival as she narrowly escaped with her life after Jim attempted to murder her in 2010.
"Christy" premiered in theaters on Nov. 7. "The Housemaid," which co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, will be released theatrically on Dec. 19. The third season of "Euphoria" is expected to debut in the spring of 2026.

Hailey Bieber is opening up about how motherhood has deepened her spirituality.
The model appeared on one of GQ’s 2025 Men of the Year covers as "Tycoon of the Year." During her interview with the magazine, she said becoming a mother "is a very spiritual experience" and that her faith has grown since welcoming her son.
"I’m somebody who has always been a quite spiritual person. I think your depth of spirituality becomes deeper when you bring life into the world, for sure," she explained. "It is a very spiritual experience and, yeah, I don’t think that’s ever going to change for me."
"I mean, I would always love to evolve the depth of it. But I don’t think that’s something that will ever not be so important in my life and close to my life."

"But I feel much more prepared to do it again, as opposed to how not prepared I felt doing it for the first time," she said. Ilhan Omar fires back after Trump's Constitution dig: 'Unlike you, I can read'
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., struck back at President Donald Trump after he took a swipe at her understanding of the Constitution.
While the two have gone head-to-head for years dating back to Trump’s first term, they have reignited their longstanding quarrel in recent weeks as Trump has suggested she should return to Somalia, where she was born. Omar’s comment comes a day after the White House shared an image on X of Trump waving goodbye through a McDonald’s drive-thru window in 2024, replying to a video of Omar saying she wasn't uneasy about being deported.
On Tuesday, Omar took a jab at Trump in response to a video where he questioned her Constitutional knowledge.
"Unlike you, I can read and that’s why I know what the constitution says," Omar said in a post on X.
Although Trump did not mention Omar by name, Trump took a shot at Omar as he criticized other Democrats like Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas in a Monday interview with Fox News.
"I look at somebody who comes from Somalia where they don't have anything, they don't have police, they don't have military, they don't have anything. All they have is crime," Trump said in the clip. "And she comes in and tells us how to run our country. 'The Constitution says this, the Constitution says that.' The whole thing is crazy."

"I have no worry, I don’t know how they’d take away my citizenship and like deport me," Omar said in the clip the White House responded to, which originally was made on "The Dean Obeidallah Show" in October. "But I don’t even know like why that’s such a scary threat. Like I’m not the 8-year-old who escaped war anymore. I’m grown, my kids are grown. Like I could go live wherever I want."
Trump has repeatedly indicated that Omar should return to Somalia, but told reporters in September that Somalia didn’t want her back.
"You know, I met the head of Somalia, did you know that?" Trump said. "And I suggested that maybe he’d like to take her back. He said, ‘I don’t want her.’"

However, Omar said that the story was not true.
"From denying Somalia had a president to making up a story, President Trump is a lying buffoon," Omar said. "No one should take this embarrassing fool seriously."
Omar's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
When asked for comment about Omar's statement, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital: "President Trump is right."
Omar’s family fled Somalia for a refugee camp in Kenya during the Somalian Civil War in 1991. The U.S. granted her family asylum, and they lived in Arlington, Virginia, starting in 1995. The congresswoman obtained citizenship in the United States in the year 2000.
She was elected to Minnesota’s House of Representatives in 2016 and then in 2018 was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. She is the first Somali–American woman and one of the first Muslim women to serve in Congress.
Pat McAfee defends having Trump on show, says he extended invite to Obama: 'It's the president'
President Donald Trump appeared on Pat McAfee's daily ESPN show on Tuesday, and of course, not everyone was pleased.
Days after McAfee himself broke the news that Trump would attend the Washington Commanders-Detroit Lions game, the president called into his show, which was broadcast live from Parris Island in honor of Veterans Day.
Trump spoke about those who fought for our country, the government shutdown, college football and the NFL kickoff (which he hates) in an appearance that lasted roughly 20 minutes.

The show was broadcast live on YouTube, with many comments showing vitriol toward the president as well as McAfee for having him on. But after Trump hung up, McAfee defended his decision.
"I would like to say, though, for the immediate people that are mad about that happening, it's the President of the United States. It's Veterans Day. He's the Commander-in-Chief. Obviously, if we have the opportunity to talk to him, we're going to. And he is hilarious."

McAfee also said he and the show had reached out to former President Barack Obama after Trump became an option to be interviewed, but Obama was unable to join due to scheduling conflicts.
The appearance on the show marks the latest in what has been a sports-filled presidency. Trump attended the Lions' victory on Sunday just outside the nation's capital. That was his first sporting event since attending the Ryder Cup in September. That month, he also attended the men’s U.S. Open final and a New York Yankees game, which took place 24 years to the day after the Sept. 11 attacks.
The Commanders–Lions game was his first NFL game of the season. He also attended Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, won by the Philadelphia Eagles, and has been to numerous UFC events. He also attended the FIFA Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium.

Nicki Minaj marked Veterans Day with a short message that drew big engagement on social media, thanking America's service members in a post that continues a recent patriotic trend for the rapper.

Bills sign Super Bowl hero Mecole Hardman to practice squad following blowout loss to Dolphins: report
After the Buffalo Bills' shocking blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the team is bringing in a wide receiver with Super Bowl pedigree.
The Bills, in need of a spark from their wide receiver room, signed Mecole Hardman to their practice squad, according to ESPN. Hardman had been on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad but was cut in September.
The Bills did not bring in anyone at the trade deadline to help quarterback Josh Allen on the perimeter, so they pivoted to the 27-year-old Hardman.

In 80 career games, Hardman has 178 catches for 2,302 yards and 16 touchdowns, and the Bills are hoping the Super Bowl LVIII hero can provide a spark.
The Bills dropped to 6-3 with the loss and will look to bounce back against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3) on Sunday.

Suspect accused of killing college pre-med student has a criminal history: court records
The man accused of killing a University of Kansas student in a hit-and-run while she was jogging has a criminal history, according to court documents.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office wrote in a news release that 20-year-old Elsa McGrain was going for a jog on Thursday in Lawrence, Kansas, when someone driving a white pickup truck hit her and fled the area. The suspect was later identified as William Ray Klingler, 36, the sheriff's office told Fox News Digital.
McGrain was hit at around 6 p.m. near Lawrence Regional Airport, but her body wasn't discovered until 3:35 a.m. when a passerby called 911, and was pronounced dead shortly after. Klingler was arrested days later after police solicited tips from the public.
The sheriff's office said McGrain was studying pre-medicine and was expected to graduate in 2026.
Court records reviewed by Fox News Digital show Klingler has racked up at least two DUIs, trying to disable his vehicle's ignition interlock and tampering with ankle monitors. The interlock is a breathalyzer that certain drivers must use before starting the car.
As a juvenile in 2003, Klingler was charged with several crimes, including burglary, criminal damage to property and theft. He was placed under intensive supervision probation for those alleged crimes.
"Our hearts go out to Elsa’s family and friends in this incredibly tragic situation," the sheriff's office wrote.

McGrain was a member of the University of Kansas Chi Omega sorority, which posted a tribute to their Instagram.
"Elsa was the kind of person everyone wanted to be: genuine, kind, and full of light. She noticed the quiet one in the room, checked in on you whether things were good or bad, and was the loyal friend we all strive to be. She had a gift for making everyone around her feel valued and loved," the Chi Omega chapter wrote.
The sorority said McGrain served on the sorority's executive board as house manager, "where she led with grace, compassion, and a servant’s heart."
"Our hearts go out to Elsa’s friends, family, and all those who were touched by her light. Her faith, kindness, and sisterhood will forever remain in our hearts," the sorority wrote.
Klingler hasn't yet been charged but was booked into jail on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter.
Ex-Redskins cheerleader weighs in on Trump's appearance at Commanders vs Lions game
Former Washington Redskins cheerleader Jillian Anderson says she believes that most Americans aren't reflective of the ones who booed President Donald Trump at Sunday's Commanders vs. Lions game.
Still, she wasn't surprised to hear it from local D.C. residents, as a former resident herself.
"I lived in D.C. for 13 years. When I was younger, I kept a lot of my political beliefs to myself because the area is aggressively liberal and at the time, I was more concerned about confrontation. Honestly, I'm not surprised parts of the crowd booed him. That's the same city that has repeatedly elected Mayor Bowser, they clearly don't know what's good for them," Anderson told Fox News Digital, later praising Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who did Trump's signature dance after scoring a touchdown.

"I’m from a blue-collar town in the Midwest, and I relate way more to the Detroit Lions player doing the Trump dance. The past 10 months of accomplishments while Trump has been in office have been historic – he just keeps winning for America. I think the majority of the country agrees, and that liberal crowd isn’t reflective of that."
Anderson cheered on the Redskins' sideline from 2012 to 2014. But she wishes she was there cheering on Sunday when Trump was there.
"I personally would’ve loved to have been working when President Trump watched a game. I guarantee Trump’s presence added a whole new level of energy to FedEx Field. Watching it on TV was exciting, but I can’t imagine how incredible it must’ve been to be on the field playing for him, dancing on the sidelines, or just sitting in the stands, soaking it all in," she said.
"I even saw people doing the Trump dance, including a Lions player. And the flyover by Air Force One, that had to be unforgettable for all those dedicated generations of fans, who are building memories together."

Some Commanders fans at Sunday's game were the subject of controversy after they booed Trump as he read the names of those enlisting in the U.S. military over the team's public address system.The new members of the military were at Northwest Stadium as part of the NFL’s "Salute to Service" festivities ahead of Veterans Day.
The boos came at a time when outlook of Trump in the Washington, D.C., area was impacted by the recent government shutdown. Days before the game, ESPN reported that Trump wants the Commanders' new $3.7 billion stadium project to be named after him.
The White House did not confirm the report, but in a previous statement, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, "That would surely be a beautiful name, as it was President Trump who made the rebuilding of the new stadium possible."
Sunday also marked the first time a sitting U.S. president attended an NFL regular season game since 1978. He was at the 2025 Super Bowl, which the Philadelphia Eagles won over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.
"We are honored to welcome President Trump to the game as we celebrate those who have served and continue to serve our country. The entire Commanders organization is proud to participate in the NFL’s league-wide Salute to Service initiative, recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans, active-duty service members and their families this Sunday," the Commanders said in a statement.

Benson Boone poked fun at himself after receiving a snub from the Grammys.
On Nov. 7, the Recording Academy revealed its 2026 nominees, and Boone didn't make the cut. On Monday, the singer took to his Instagram story to jokingly react to his song, "Mystical Magical," not being nominated for a single category.
"Can’t believe moonbeam ice cream didn’t get a Grammy nom," he said alongside a selfie with his eyes wide. "it’s literally pure lyrical genius," he added of the meme-worthy song.
Boone rose to fame after competing on "American Idol" in 2021. The singer made it to the top 24, but withdrew from the competition before the finale to focus on his own career, even after judge Katy Perry told him he could win the competition singing show.

Boone's reaction came after the Recording Academy announced that Kendrick Lamar would be the frontrunner at the 2026 ceremony. He has nine nods, with Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff and Cirkut shortly behind with seven nominations each.
