Giants' key defensive tackle tears Achilles tendon during practice, out for the season: reports
The New York Giants lost a key piece of their defensive line for the season on Thursday.
Defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris tore his Achilles tendon during the Giants’ OTA practice, according to multiple reports.
Robertson-Harris, 32, was in line for a big role after the Giants traded star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals earlier in the offseason. He started all 17 games last year and played 56% of the snaps, which was second only to Lawrence among defensive tackles.

Robertson-Harris suffered the injury while rushing the passer in an 11-on-11 period. He went down and immediately grabbed at his leg, according to The Athletic.
The Giants signed Robertson-Harris to a two-year, $9 million contract before last season. He had 35 tackles and three tackles for loss in 17 games last season.

The Giants, whose defensive tackle group was already thin because of the Lawrence trade, will be forced to rely on a mix of veterans and young players. The team signed veterans DJ Reader and Shelby Harris in free agency.
Reader started all 17 games for the Detroit Lions last season and played the run well, recording 28 tackles. Harris played in 17 games, starting five, for the Cleveland Browns last season and recorded 32 tackles, seven tackles for loss and a sack.
Darius Alexander, the Giants’ third-round pick last season, will also be counted on to pick up some of the slack from Robertson-Harris' and Lawrence’s absences. The 25-year-old played in 16 games, recording 20 tackles with four tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
The Giants drafted Bobby Jamison-Travis in the sixth round out of Auburn in last month’s NFL Draft.

Robert Griffin III urges Americans to remember the reason for Memorial Day during visit to Washington DC
This Memorial Day weekend, just like the rest of them, hits home for Robert Griffin III - but this one might be a tad more special.
The son of two U.S. Army veterans, the former Washington Commanders quarterback went back to the nation’s capital as part of his longtime partnership with USAA.
Griffin visited USAA’s Poppy Wall of Honor, a powerful tribute recognizing more than 600,000 service members who gave their lives in defense of our country, each represented by a single poppy, at the National Mall.

"It’s really an opportunity to share their stories. They've actually enhanced the exhibit even more this year by adding stories of the fallen soldiers, so you can walk the exhibit and you can hear those stories that are given from their family members," Griffin told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.
"Because in the military community, a lot of times we do feel like maybe the sacrifices aren’t appreciated as much, or maybe we are forgotten at times for the things that we do for this country. These people who are honored by this wall gave the ultimate sacrifice. So it’s not them that are feeling it — it’s their families.
"To hear those stories from the families is truly important and impactful, and all they want is to not be forgotten. So if we can continue to tell their stories and pay homage to them and honor them, it keeps their stories alive."
Griffin knows that many Americans will take advantage of the long weekend with some poolside barbecues, but he did implore everyone to realize why they are able to do so in the first place.
"I’m not saying it’s not about that. What I’m saying is there’s a reason that we’re able to do that, and it’s because of our service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice," Griffin said. "I just want to be here with USAA and make that known. It’s okay to have fun, but if you have some time, get in a huddle, take a moment of silence, say a prayer, share the stories if you know someone who was in the military who gave the ultimate sacrifice, so that we can keep those stories alive and truly know the reason for Memorial Day is about them. It’s not about us."
Being around veterans all his life, Griffin was able to take some lessons from those who served to the gridiron and in life.
"Yeah, it’s not two-pointed at all. It’s very impactful. With my parents, it was always, ‘Whatever you start, you’re going to finish.’ It’s ‘yes, ma’am,’ ‘no, ma’am,’ ‘yes, sir,’ ‘no, sir,’ and the discipline that it takes to get to where you want to be means that you’re going to have to overcome adversity," he said. "When you talk about the type of mental fortitude you have to have to do something like that — knowing that you may not see your mom again, your dad again, your child, your husband, your wife — it’s truly remarkable, and it just shows you how seriously they take their service and how much they love this country.
"If we can apply that to everything that we do in life, this country is going to continue to grow and continue to be great at the level that it has been. To me, that is what the military is. It is the best of us, and these people deserve to be honored."

Killer who compared stabbing his aunt to carving Play-Doh gets lengthy sentence after courtroom outburst
A California man who brutally murdered his aunt amid tensions over a clogged toilet in their home, and then said the killing reminded him of carving Play-Doh, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison this week following a courtroom outburst directed at his relatives.
In April, Christopher Kaulaity was found guilty of the Dec. 7, 2024, death of Maria Carmen Torrez and to using a deadly weapon during the crime; however, a jury subsequently rejected his insanity claim.
Kaulaity recalled the killing when questioned by investigators, according to court documents.
"It kind of reminded me of when I was a kid again," he said. "Because when I was a kid, I used to carve these Play-Doh figures and use sticks to impale them."

He said he held the knife to kill his aunt "butcher style," mentioning the fictional character Norman Bates from the film "Psycho."
During Wednesday's hearing inside a Bakersfield courtroom, Kaulaity lashed out at the victim’s sister and other family, saying: "I hope you rot in hell with your sister, b----," KGET-TV reported.
The killing occurred at the home where Torrez, 45, lived with seven other adult relatives. A day earlier, a family argument broke out between Kaulaity and his aunt over issues with the single toilet in the residence clogging.

"Over the next 24 hours, tension built in the house and multiple family members warned Kaulaity that if problems continued, he and his adult sister would have to move out," the Kern County District Attorney's Office said.
On the day of the murder, Torrez was walking to the bathroom and passed Kaulaity in a hallway, where she called him a homophobic slur, prosecutors said.
"While the victim was in the bathroom, Kaulaity went to his bedroom where he retrieved pepper spray and a knife. Kaulaity then kicked open the bathroom door, pepper sprayed his aunt 'to blind her,' and then stabbed her repeatedly in her back and neck," according to the DA's office.
After the stabbing, Kaulaity called 911 and said he had just stabbed his aunt to death. Deputies responded and arrested him.
Kaulaity’s sister said her brother wanted to escape the toxic household, had submitted job applications, and had even considered returning to a homeless shelter, the report said.

Maine ballot initiative barring boys from using girls' locker rooms in danger of being blocked
A proposed Maine ballot initiative regarding girls’ sports and sex-segregated school facilities may be blocked from appearing on the November ballot after state officials determined it likely lacks enough valid signatures.
The initiative, called "An Act to Designate School Sports Participation and Facilities by Sex," would require public school sports teams to be based on a student’s biological sex listed on their birth certificate (unless the team is co-ed) as well as separate bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers for male and female students.
According to Maine Wire, Katherine McBrien, a top official in Secretary of State Shenna Bellows’ office recommended invalidating the initiative after finding that the Protect Girls Sports in Maine campaign submitted 67,150 valid signatures, 532 fewer than the 67,682 required to qualify a citizen initiative for the statewide ballot.
McBrien recommended that 12,542 signatures be rejected following a legal challenge to the petition process.
Earlier this year, Bellows' office initially approved the approved the petition, saying it had enough valid signatures.
The approval was then challenged in court by three Maine residents who claimed that thousands of the signatures were invalid because of defects in the collection and certification process, among other procedural violations.
A judge then ordered a second review, resulting in thousands more signatures being rejected, including nearly 2,000 duplicate signatures identified by McBrien.

Bellows now faces the final decision over whether the referendum will survive, though this battle will likely continue in court regardless of her decision on May 26.
While opponents of the referendum are celebrating what they deem "a victory for election laws," supporters argue that voters should decide the issue themselves.
This issue is part of a larger, nationwide battle that has been raging for some time now about fairness in women's sports when it comes to biological males being allowed to participate, as well as whether biological males should be permitted to use female-designed bathrooms and locker rooms.
In a statement sent to OutKick, Protect Girls Sports in Maine principal officer Leyland Streiff said, "Protect Girls Sports in Maine is reviewing the Recommended Decision closely. We are continuing our defense of the Protect Girls Sports ballot measure and will be filing our objections to the recommended decision before the May 23 deadline."
OutKick has reached out to Bellows, as well as Governor Janet Mills, Sen. Susan Collins and Graham Platner for comment. Bellows' office was unable to comment until the final determination is issued.
Limousine Liberal Max Kellerman apologizes to James Harden for comparing him to Trump
Former ESPN host Max Kellerman made headlines this week after criticizing Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden for another disappointing playoff performance by comparing him to President Donald Trump.
"Bringing in James Harden to win a championship is like electing Donald Trump to fix your country," Kellerman said Wednesday on his "Game Over" podcast.
Kellerman is now apologizing for the remark. According to him, comparing any athlete to Trump crosses the line.

"I shouldn’t have said that because it’s not fair to James Harden. I did not mean to insult him publicly in a way that was going to go viral. It was too severe," Kellerman said Friday on his Netflix podcast.

Notably, Kellerman never compared a disappointing athlete to Joe Biden during his disastrous presidency.
As we argued earlier this week, whatever one thinks of Trump politically, he has won the presidency twice. Harden, meanwhile, has never led a team to a championship or even reached the NBA Finals as the primary star. The Thunder reached the Finals in 2012, but Harden came off the bench.
If Kellerman wanted a more fitting analogy, comparing Harden to Kamala Harris, another figure who has never won the big one, would have made far more sense.
More than anything, Kellerman’s Trump comparison served as a reminder of why he became so unpopular during his run alongside Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s "First Take." Kellerman routinely used the platform to lecture viewers about politics while belittling Trump and his supporters.
In 2020, Kellerman claimed Trump voters in the South were "susceptible to very low-quality information, easy to propagandize, and almost immune to facts."
Kellerman, while undeniably talented, has long embodied the image of a limousine liberal. With homes in New York and Los Angeles, he often comes across as someone who views Americans outside elite coastal circles as intellectually inferior simply because they do not share his politics.
According to reports and comments from Stephen A. Smith himself, Kellerman’s increasingly left-wing commentary contributed to his eventual exit from "First Take." Put simply, even Stephen A. appeared to grow tired of the constant political grandstanding.
Kellerman now hosts a Netflix podcast alongside LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul. Judging by the tone and content of the show, it seems aimed less at everyday sports fans and more at the cocktail-party elite crowd Kellerman has spent much of his career trying to impress.
Spurs expected to get favorable whistle in Game 3 after Thunder flopping complaints dominated Game 2
The NBA can't seem to get out of its own way. I've said something along these lines before, but they need to figure out some sort of PR or marketing campaign to help them. Maybe they just need some rule adjustments or enforcement. Whatever the solution is, they have to find a way to get people to appreciate the great games that are happening instead of just talking about the referees and flopping. No series has seen as much of that talk as this one between the Thunder and Spurs.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are seven games away from winning back-to-back championships. Former champions who have accomplished this feat often will tell you that it is harder than getting to the mountain top the first time. The Thunder are still the favorites, and there is good reason. They have a deep team, and it took a historic, double-overtime performance from a freak-of-nature to hand them their first loss in the postseason.
The Thunder tied it up with relative ease in the second game of the series, but most of the narrative was not around how well they played. Instead, it was around how much the Thunder flopped and how dirty they were playing against Victor Wembanyama. These narratives aren't new, but they were certainly highlighted and discussed ad nauseam on shows. This will factor into my handicapping.
The San Antonio Spurs are young, hungry, and confident. That's a dangerous combination, but I think they are still a year away from getting past the Thunder. They have had a fairly easy path through the playoffs. In the opening round, they took on the Trail Blazers, and they won the series 4-1. In the Conference Semifinals, the Timberwolves took them to six games, but even that felt like an inevitable win.
Now, they face the Thunder, a team they beat four times in the regular season. Most of the games weren't even that close. The Spurs like to play defense, they have some outside shooting, and they have Wemby, who might be the best player in the game. Still, this series feels like they had to give their best shot to OKC to take the first game. I'm not saying they need a perfect game to win, but I do think they need some luck or help on their side.
If you search Game 2 on Twitter/X, you'll probably see a long list of flops or fouls from the Thunder. None of those were called. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander probably had at least two or three shots where he wasn't touched and fell to the floor instead of just landing. Isaiah Hartenstein was another complaint from those who watched the game. Hartenstein had a ton of plays where he was caught pulling hair or arms of Spurs players.
Expect the Spurs to get a favorable whistle in this game. They are going to get some of those non-calls against them to be in their favor tonight. I'm backing the Spurs at home -1.5. The home court will be behind them, and I think the NBA has already looked at these clips and will encourage a favorable Spurs whistle. Additionally, bet on under 7.5 points. I'd expect very soft calls on him and for him to be in foul trouble tonight.

Warren torched over ‘my kind of man’ praise for Platner after death-wish post for wounded veteran resurfaces
Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s vocal support for her controversial New England neighbor Graham Platner’s Democratic Senate campaign is raising eyebrows in light of his Nazi-linked tattoo and a slew of resurfaced remarks, including an admission of getting aroused by smelling biocide in Port-a-Johns.
Most recently, Platner was lambasted for appearing to wish the Taliban had killed former Pennsylvania GOP lieutenant governor candidate Teddy Daniels after video of him under siege in Afghanistan surfaced:
"Dumb mother---er didn’t deserve to live," Platner said in a resurfaced social media post about the Purple Heart recipient. "Poor marksmanship on the Taliban’s part…"
On his podcast, Washington-area radio host Larry O’Connor presented a mashup of Warren shouting, "my kind of man," with narration of Platner’s uncovered foibles.

Conservative commentator "Western Lensman" flagged a 33-page letter Warren had sent to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth when he was under nomination consideration in 2025.
Warren questioned Hegseth about a tattoo with a Christian phrase tied to the Crusades — "Deus Vult" or "God Wills It" — and expressed concern about Hegseth reportedly being removed from former President Joe Biden’s inauguration because "fellow servicemembers feel concerned enough about to report as a potential insider threat."
Lensman contrasted that objection to Hegseth’s Christian tattoo with her silence on Platner’s own chest tattoo considered German Nazi imagery.
"It just tells you all the [the left’s complaints about right-wing] White supremacy blah-blah is all performative nonsense," he said.
Bernadette Breslin, a former top aide to Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., offered a side-by-side of Warren crowing about Platner just weeks ago before appearing tight-lipped to Fox News Digital.
"Look how quickly she changed her tune once his baggage started becoming a political liability," Breslin said on X.

The Republican Party’s rapid-response account RNC Research latched onto Warren’s glowing words for Platner and is now using them for second-degree criticism.
When Iowa State Sen. Zach Wahls, D-Iowa City, invoked Warren at an event and said he is "very honored to have her endorsement" in his US Senate bid to fill retiring Sen. Joni Ernst’s, R-Iowa, seat, the RNC posted context about Warren also endorsing the controversial Platner.
"Warren has also endorsed candidates like Graham Platner — who got a Nazi tattoo, praised Hamas' tactics, and said women should ‘act like an adult’ to avoid rape," they said.
Meanwhile, Daniels – who also ran for sheriff of Dare County, North Carolina last year – told Fox News’ "The Bottom Line" that Platner’s comments are run-of-the-mill for what he’s dealt with and that he largely dismissed them.
"I don’t get offended. I’ve been attacked by the left for years," Daniels said.
"This coming from a man whose party has no idea what a woman is, but yet he was online and saw a video of a man and had an emotional meltdown like a 13-year-old girl who just got dumped by her boyfriend – that’s not the type of leadership we need in our government," he added.

Platner has attributed his online behavior to PTSD from Middle East military service and personal depression, saying in a statement that "I’m sorry for this. Just know that it’s not reflective at all of who I am."
"I don’t want you to judge me on the dumbest thing I ever wrote on the internet. I would prefer if people could judge me on the person I am today," the oyster farmer added.
Other Democrats besides Warren have also become tight-lipped on Platner this week, as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York claimed he had not seen the Reddit posts when confronted by a Fox News Digital reporter outside the same Washington, D.C., office building Wednesday that Warren had entered shortly beforehand.
Platner’s sudden spike in controversy now endangers Democrats’ most-coveted Senate seat this cycle, as GOP Sen. Susan Collins seeks to continue her uniquely independent tenure as the last sitting federal Republican in office in all of New England.

Suspect in 'Trump House' owner attack is mentally ill Navy vet, victim's wife says won't survive: reports
The man charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking and critically injuring the owner of the iconic "Trump House" in southern California on Wednesday is a Navy veteran suffering from mental illness, according to a friend, while the victim's wife says she doesn't expect her husband to survive.
Thomas Caleb Butler, 32, is currently being held without bail in the Vista Detention Facility in San Diego County. A friend of Butler's told the California Post that he didn't know why Butler attacked 69-year-old homeowner Kerry Sheron, but that he was taking medication for mental illness.
"This is the guy that plays with Legos and Star Wars stuff," Butler's friend reportedly said.
His medications were failing, and his conditions were deteriorating, according to the friend, and after his time in the Navy, he was unemployed.

The friend also reportedly said that Butler "sits in his room and thinks everyone is coming to get him."
Sheron's property was adorned in American flags and pro-Trump paraphernalia, which for years caused neighbors and residents to sometimes complain about the display. His property has also been subject to vandalism.
Around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Escondido, California police officers responded to reports of an assault at the intersection of East Mission Avenue and Buchanan Street, adjacent to the "Trump House."

They found a man, later identified as Sheron, "suffering from significant injuries," and police said that a bystander who intervened during the alleged attack was also injured.
Butler fled the scene but was tracked down by police shortly thereafter.
Sheron is currently in intensive care, and his wife, Maria Garcia, told The Post that she doesn't expect her husband to survive.

She thinks the attack was politically motivated.
"He tried to kill my husband, you know," she told CBS 8. "It's terrible. I don't know what kind of hate... what heart, the black heart."
"They don't like the flags. I don't know why. I support America. My husband is [a] veteran," she said.
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., called for a "full and immediate investigation" on his X account, adding that President Trump's supporters are "routinely the victims of leftist violence all across the country."

Allin is taking that mindset into New York City. Since winning the AEW World Championship, he’s been on a tear knocking down any challenger that has stepped up to him trying to knock him off his pedestal.
While he’s certainly proven to be worthy of holding the title, he said there’s still more to be done.
"There’s always something to prove," he said. "The biggest thing to prove this Sunday is that match with Max in Seattle wasn’t a fluke win. This Sunday at Double or Nothing, that’s the biggest thing I need to prove at the moment – that it wasn’t a fluke win."
Allin is sure he can beat MJF – in his home state – and take a piece of his hair home, too.
"Make a voodoo doll and torture him for the rest of his life," he said.

Trump administration orders green card applicants to leave the US, apply from their home countries
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on Friday a major shift in immigration policy, dictating that noncitizens in the U.S. who have applied for a green card, or lawful permanent resident status, must leave the country indefinitely — even if they are in the country legally and regardless of whether they have spouses or children with citizenship.
Green card petitioners will then be required to wait for their application to be processed outside the country through consular processing via the U.S. Department of State.
USCIS said it will grant "adjustment of status" only in extraordinary circumstances, on a case-by-case basis.

The Trump administration's position remains that when noncitizens travel into the country via student visas, tourist visas or temporary work status, they are supposed to leave once that term expires and that temporary permission to be in the U.S. should not serve as the first step toward getting a green card.
Officials claim the policy reflects the original intentions of the law, though lawsuits and litigation are expected to follow.
"We’re returning to the original intent of the law to ensure aliens navigate our nation’s immigration system properly," USCIS spokesperson Zach Kahler wrote in a statement. "From now on, an alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a green card must return to their home country to apply, except in extraordinary circumstances. This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes."

Kahler added that when noncitizens apply for a green card from their home country, it reduces the need to find and remove those who "decide to slip into the shadows" and remain in the U.S. illegally after being denied residency.
"Nonimmigrants, like students, temporary workers or people on tourist visas, come to the U.S. for a short time and for a specific purpose," he said. "Our system is designed for them to leave when their visit is over. Their visit should not function as the first step in the green card process.
"Following the law allows the majority of these cases to be handled by the State Department at U.S. consular offices abroad and frees up limited USCIS resources to focus on processing other cases that fall under its purview, including visas for victims of violent crime and human trafficking, naturalization applications and other priorities," Kahler added. "The law was written this way for a reason, and despite the fact that it has been ignored for years, following it will help make our system fairer and more efficient."
Critics of the policy shift argue many overstays have U.S. citizen spouses or children, pay taxes and fill labor shortages and, if removed from the country, will face long processing delays and humanitarian concerns.
It is unclear if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will begin deporting green card applicants.
Maye Musk, Elon Musk's mother, took to X to react to the policy change.
"When I wanted to get my green card, I had to have numerous vaccinations, health tests and a lung x-ray," Maye Musk wrote in a post. "Because I was Canadian, I had to fly to Montreal to have a lung x-ray again to confirm that it’s the same person. However, when the x-ray had to be delivered to me at my friend’s home, the delivery truck was stuck on a bridge because of thick ice. I had to stay an extra day. Nothing was easy. It took another five years before I could get citizenship. Worth it."
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
