Trump says he would ‘absolutely’ revoke citizenship from naturalized criminals — if he has the authority
President Donald Trump on Sunday said his administration’s halt on asylum processing in the wake of the deadly National Guard shooting earlier this week could last "a long time," and floated the possibility of revoking citizenship from some naturalized immigrants with criminal histories.
While the administration has framed the asylum freeze as an emergency response to Wednesday’s shooting, the president’s comments to reporters aboard Air Force One suggest the restrictions could evolve into a longer-term approach.
President Trump tied the pause to a more robust stance toward 19 countries he derided as "crime-ridden" and vowed that he would "absolutely" de-naturalize immigrants convicted of crimes — if it is within his presidential authority.
"We have enough problems. We don’t want those people," Trump said, adding that there was no time limit on the moratorium.
TRUMP HIGHLIGHTS FEDERAL LAW GRANTING PRESIDENTIAL POWER TO HALT IMMIGRATION AS CRACKDOWN ESCALATES
"We have criminals that came into our country and they were naturalized," Trump said, vowing that, "If I have the power to do it – I’m not sure that I do, but if I do – I would de-naturalize. Absolutely."
Trump clarified his recent use of the term "reverse migration," saying it means removing people already inside the U.S.
"Get people out that are in our country – get them out of here," Trump said.
LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONDING AFTER 2 NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERS SHOT NEAR WHITE HOUSE
Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national, is charged with shooting two West Virginia National Guard members just blocks from the White House on Wednesday.
U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed, while her colleague, U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains in critical condition. Both Guard members had been deployed to D.C. as part of Trump's crime-fighting mission that federalized D.C. police. Trump said he has invited both Guard members' family members to the White House.
"I said, 'When you're ready, because that's a tough thing, come to the White House. We're going to honor Sarah," Trump told reporters. "And 'likewise with Andrew, recover or not."
Lakanwal faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed in the shooting, charges that prompted the Trump administration to halt all asylum decisions and pause issuing visas for people traveling on Afghan passports.
Broncos secure thrilling OT victory over Commanders behind clutch performances
The Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders’ matchup on Sunday featured several great plays, but the most impactful came in overtime.
It didn’t take long for the Broncos to score. Bo Nix made four completions, including a 41-yard pass to Evan Engram, and then handed the ball off to running back RJ Harvey, who scored from five yards out to take a 27-20 lead.

Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota created some late-game heroics. He found Deebo Samuel on 3rd-and-14 for a 38-yard gain. He connected with Terry McLaurin to bring the game to within one point. With nothing to lose, the Commanders decided to go for two and the win. Mariota dropped back to pass and his attempt to Jeremy McNichols was blocked by Broncos pass rusher Nik Bonitto.
The Broncos won the game, 27-26.
Nix finished 29-of-45 for 321 yards and a touchdown pass. Harvey had 35 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Harvey and Bonito’s overtime heroics were just two of a handful of great plays made during the game.
Nix did his best to pull out all the stops. He helped put Denver ahead before halftime when he threw a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton as he was falling to the ground. He avoided the rush and his calf was about to hit the ground before he fired the ball to Sutton in the end zone.
BRONCOS' BO NIX THROWS TD PASS WHILE FALLING TO GROUND IN STUNNING PLAY
Commanders wide receiver Treylon Burks likely said, "Watch this," before he made his sensation play. Burks received a pass from Mariota in the end zone. He, somehow, made a one-handed catch for a crucial go-ahead touchdown.
It was Burks’ second career touchdown catch and it was one that the Commanders really needed.
Mariota was trying to keep the drive alive with under four minutes to go in the game. He found tight end Zach Ertz open in the middle of the field. The ball was thrown high and Ertz was able to grab the pass and bring it down.
But just as he was going to secure the catch, Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton knocked the ball loose and the pass was incomplete. Washington punted the ball away.
Singleton was playing in his first game since he underwent testicular cancer surgery three weeks ago. It was a big play, but it came just a few minutes too early as Mariota would lead the Commanders down the field to tie the game.
Mariota played as well as one could play in a hard-fought game. He was 28-of-50 with 294 passing yards and two touchdown passes. He also had 55 yards on the ground.
Ertz finished with 10 catches for 106 yards. McLaurin had seven catches for 96 yards.
Denver improved to 10-2 with the win and have won nine straight games. Washington fell to 3-9.

Buying a mattress online is convenient and can offer more benefits than visiting an actual showroom. To help out in your search, here are a few answers to the most commonly asked questions consumers have when buying a new mattress online.
Picking out the best mattress brand will depend entirely on your specific needs, preferences and budget. The brands featured in our guide consistently receive high ratings and are well-regarded for different reasons. Many of these mattress brands offer mattress quizzes that can help guide you to options based on your preferences.
How long your mattress lasts depends on the quality of the mattress and how you care for it. You will know it's time to replace your mattress if you see signs of visible sagging or deep body impressions. Another good indicator signaling that your mattress is likely to no longer provide adequate support is if you consistently wake up with back, neck, hip or shoulder pain that wasn't there before. An old mattress can accumulate dust mites, mold and allergens, leading to increased allergy symptoms.
Choosing the best mattress depends on individual needs and preferences. Side sleepers generally do better with a softer to medium-firm mattress that contours to their body to relieve pressure on hips and shoulders and maintain spinal alignment. Back sleepers may prefer a medium to firm mattress that provides consistent support to keep the neck, shoulders and torso aligned. Stomach sleepers should opt for a firmer mattress to prevent their hips from sinking too far, which can lead to back pain.

First lady Melania Trump decorates the White House for Christmas: 'Home is Where the Heart Is'
EXCLUSIVE: The White House is officially decorated for Christmas with a decor and a theme personally selected by first lady Melania Trump to celebrate the holiday season--"Home is Where the Heart Is."
This is the fifth time Mrs. Trump has had the opportunity to decorate 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for the Christmas season. This year, the first lady’s decor highlights the American spirit of "generosity, patriotism, and gratitude."
MELANIA TRUMP UNVEILS WHITE HOUSE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, THEME FOR 2020
Mrs. Trump has decked the halls of the White House this season with more than 25,000 feet of ribbon; more than 2,000 strands of light; more than 120 pounds of gingerbread; more than 2,800 gold stars; more than 10,000 blue butterflies; and more than 700 feet of garland.
"Every detail of the 2025 White House Christmas decorations was personally selected by Mrs. Trump to honor the heart of America and the theme ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is,’" the White House told Fox News Digital.
The White House has 51 Christmas trees and 75 of Mrs. Trump’s signature Christmas wreaths. The wreaths have classic red bows, and hang outside the windows of the White House.
"The saying ‘Home is Where the Heart is’ resonates deeply with me, especially as I navigate the joys, challenges, and frequent motion that comes with motherhood and business," the first lady told Fox News Digital. "The constant movement has taught me that home is not merely a physical space; rather, it is the warmth and comfort I carry within, regardless of my surroundings."
"This Christmas, let’s celebrate the love we hold within ourselves and share it with the world around us," she continued. "After all, wherever we are, we can create a home filled with grace, radiance, and endless possibilities."
The theme in the East Room is "Home is Where the Heart Is: America, Our Home." The room is filled with patriotic decorations to celebrate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The decor is red, white and blue, along with national symbols including eagles, the Great Seal, roses and oak. On the trees are 56 eagle ornaments to represent each state and territory; along with 250 stars to represent America’s upcoming birthday.
WHITE HOUSE UNVEILS CHRISTMAS DECOR WITH 'SPIRIT OF AMERICA' THEME
"We are deeply honored that America250 is represented in this year’s White House holiday celebration," an America250 spokesman told Fox News Digital. "The decor and concept of the East Room highlights ‘America, Our Home,’ beautifully reflecting the spirit of unity, hope, and shared purpose that defines our nation."
"As we enter a truly historic year leading up to America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, this holiday season offers an opportunity to reflect on what connects us as Americans," the spokesman continued. "It’s also a moment to look ahead with excitement—to the many ways we’ll come together in the year ahead to honor our past, celebrate our present, and imagine our collective future."
Next, the Green Room’s theme is "Home is Where the Heart Is: Family Fun." The room highlights America’s favorite games and activities, with playing cards; Lego portraits of President Trump and President George Washington; dominoes and more.
In the Blue Room, the theme "Home is Where the Heart Is: Where Strength and Sacrifice Meets Home." Decor honors the "beauty, unity, and sacrifices made by Gold Star families on behalf of the United States of America.
The Blue Room decorations feature blue, gold, and ivory, with gold stars to honor Gold Star families; custom lithophane ornaments to depict each state and territory’s official bird and flower; and more. The White House said the first lady chose birds to represent "freedom, hope, and courage," while the flowers symbolize the "vigilance, bravery and steadfast spirit of Gold Star families."
The custom ornaments were designed with AI support and created with 3D printers— a move highlighting the first lady’s emphasis on the importance of AI education and responsible use.
MELANIA TRUMP GIVES TOUR OF 2018 WHITE HOUSE CHRISTMAS DECOR
On the Blue Room tree alone, which is an 18-foot noncolor fir from Sidney, Michigan, there are 420 strands of bulbs—21,000 individual lights; and 3,000 feet of ribbon. That Christmas tree is the official White House Christmas tree.
The Red Room's focus in on the first lady’s "Fostering the Future" effort to support foster children. The room’s decor celebrates her "Be Best" initiative, with more than 10,000 butterflies— a symbol of "transformation and representing the hope that every child will have the chance to grow into their full potential."
"Fostering the Future is a mission the first lady cares about deeply. As we began discussing Christmas decorations, the butterfly emerged as a prominent theme, as it symbolizes renewal, resilience, and new beginnings for the foster care community," Herve Pierre, who is Melania Trump's "creative artist," told Fox News Digital. "It was clear that the blue butterfly was the perfect choice to fulfill Mrs. Trump's creative vision for her Christmas themed Be Best Room."
Pierre has overseen the implementation of her creative vision.
"Incorporating thousands of magnificent blue butterflies in the Red Room creates a vibrant and festive atmosphere that reflects the first lady's style," Pierre said. "This striking color combination captures the essence of the holiday spirit."
The room also features historic cranberry trees—a tradition first introduced in 1975, but which became well-known as former first lady Nancy Reagan’s favorite holiday decoration—her favorite color was also red.
The state dining room’s theme is "Home is Where the Heart Is: A Place to Gather," which showcases the "joy of hosting at home" and the "history of diplomacy at the White House."
The decor in the State Dining Room features custom tree boxes with hand-painted magnolia blossoms, gilded acorns and fruits of harvest. It also features the White House Historical Association’s official ornament, which celebrates the 150th anniversary of state dinners at the White House.
WHITE HOUSE'S 2017 HOLIDAY DISPLAY INCLUDES 53 CHRISTMAS TREES, AND HONORS FOR THE MILITARY
In the room is a gingerbread house showcasing the south portico of the White House. The gingerbread house offers a "unique glimpse into the yellow oval in the private residence of the White House."
The gingerbread house is made of 120 pounds of gingerbread dough, 100 pounds of pastillage dough, more than 10 pounds of chocolate, nearly 80 pounds of royal icing and five pounds of isomalt sugar.
And in the White House’s Grand Foyer and Cross Hall, the first lady highlighted a space as one "Where Love Blooms."
The decor highlights "the love that blooms in our homes, families and communities," the White House said.
The spaces feature a forest of 28 trees in burgundy and gold, decorated with foliage, ribbon, ornaments, and taper candles. The planters are filled with amaryllis, which the White House said represents strength and love—especially around the holidays.
A portion of the White House creche, or nativity scene, is featured in the grand foyer, but the White House said it is undergoing "a much-needed restoration overseen by the White House curators."
The White House will reopen its doors for public Christmas tours on Dec. 2. The tours will feature the White House Christmas decorations on the state floor, and will give visitors the opportunity to "enjoy the beloved annual tradition that transforms the White House into a festive reflection of the spirit, warmth, faith, and hope of the holiday season."
Commanders' Treylon Burks wows NFL fans with incredible touchdown catch
Washington Commanders wide receiver Treylon Burks captivated the NFL world on Sunday night as he made an incredible one-handed touchdown catch against the Denver Broncos.
Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota led the team down the field on a drive that was about to cross the 5-minute mark. On the 10th play, he threw a lob pass to Burks in the corner of the end zone. Burks got his right hand up and caught the football over Broncos cornerback Riley Moss.

Burks came down with the ball for the go-ahead touchdown. The Commanders took a 14-13 lead with the score.
NFL fans’ jaws dropped after watching the play. Burks’ catch was quickly compared to the grab former New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. made against the Dallas Cowboys in 2014.
BRONCOS' BO NIX THROWS TD PASS WHILE FALLING TO GROUND IN STUNNING PLAY
It was those types of plays that Burks was expected to be making routinely when the Tennessee Titans selected him in the first round of the draft in 2022. He was selected No. 18 overall out of Arkansas but his time with the Titans didn’t go to plan. He only scored one touchdown in 27 games.
Burks’ appearance with the Commanders on Sunday was only his third game with Washington. He had four catches for 72 yards with the team coming into the matchup.
The touchdown was Burks’ second of his career. Plays like that will help him make a case to stay on the roster.

Trump says he believes Hegseth '100%' on Venezuelan drug boat strike denial amid allegations
President Donald Trump on Sunday defended Secretary of War Pete Hegseth over allegations he ordered a second strike on a Venezuelan drug boat, saying he believes Hegseth’s denial and would not have supported a follow-up attack if it happened.
The exchange came during a gaggle aboard Air Force One as reporters pressed Trump on claims that Hegseth authorized a second strike that allegedly killed two wounded men after an earlier attack on a suspected drug-smuggling vessel.
Trump repeatedly said Hegseth denied giving such an order. He added that he was aware of the allegation but stressed that Hegseth told him the claim was untrue and that he accepted that explanation without hesitation.
"He said he did not say that, and I believe him 100%," Trump said.
HEGSETH SHARED DETAILS OF YEMEN STRIKES IN SECOND SIGNAL CHAT: REPORT
Reporters asked Trump whether he would have approved a second strike if Hegseth had ordered one, prompting him to again distance himself from the allegation while stressing that he trusted his secretary of war.
Trump said he planned to seek additional information about the reported incident but reiterated that Hegseth assured him nothing improper happened.
"No, I wouldn’t have wanted that. Not a second strike," Trump said.
DEM SEN JOHN FETTERMAN BACKS USE OF MILITARY FORCE TO COMBAT DRUG TRAFFICKING INTO US
Still, he praised the wider campaign targeting drug-smuggling boats, saying the strikes had sharply reduced the flow of narcotics into the U.S. by sea in recent months.
Trump argued the vessels posed a deadly threat and framed the operations as necessary to protect Americans, calling the missions lethal but justified.
"You can see the boats," he said. "You can see the drugs in the boats and each boat is responsible for killing 25,000 Americans."
TRUMP SAYS 'DON'T READ ANYTHING INTO IT' WHEN ASKED ABOUT DECLARING VENEZUELA'S AIRSPACE CLOSED
Trump went to Hegseth’s defense after reports from outlets such as The Washington Post and CNN claimed the U.S. military ordered a second strike on a suspected drug vessel in the Caribbean on Sept. 2 after the earlier attack left two survivors.
According to The Washington Post, the commander overseeing that operation told colleagues on a secure conference call that the survivors were legitimate targets because they could still contact other traffickers for help and ordered the second strike to comply with what he said was a directive from Hegseth that everyone must be killed.
"As usual, the fake news is delivering more fabricated, inflammatory and derogatory reporting to discredit our incredible warriors fighting to protect the homeland," Hegseth wrote on X on Friday.
"As we’ve said from the beginning and in every statement, these highly effective strikes are specifically intended to be ‘lethal, kinetic strikes,’" Hegseth continued. "The declared intent is to stop lethal drugs, destroy narco-boats and kill the narco-terrorists who are poisoning the American people. Every trafficker we kill is affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization."
Fox News Digital’s Greg Norman and Alexandra Koch contributed to this report.
Broncos' Bo Nix throws TD pass while falling to ground in stunning play
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix impressed NFL fans on Sunday night as he completed a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton while he was falling to the ground.
Nix was being pressured by the Washington Commanders’ defense on 2nd-and-10 from the 11-yard line. He stepped up into the pocket as if he was going to scramble, but at the last second, he found Sutton streaking across the end zone.

Sutton caught the pass and the Broncos were able to take a 13-7 lead into halftime.
"One of the things he does so well is extend plays and that was a perfect example," Broncos head coach Sean Payton told NBC’s Melissa Stark at the half. "From the angle he threw that … Look, I think it’s going to be important that we have some balance in the second half to get this running game going."
It wasn’t exactly and offensive explosion from Denver in the first half. Nix was 15-of-24 with 146 passing yards and the touchdown to Sutton. The team only had 39 yards on the ground with Nix accounting for five of them.
JOSH ALLEN SETS NFL RECORD AS BILLS THUMP STEELERS
Seven Broncos receivers had catches while six of them had at least two.
Denver came into the game as one of the top teams in the AFC with a 9-2 record. Nix had 2,421 passing yards, 18 touchdown passes and eight interceptions before kickoff.
Washington was looking to get back in the win column without Jayden Daniels.

'National Lampoon' star Beverly D'Angelo admits she likely gave up 'bigger career' after becoming mom at 49
"National Lampoon" star Beverly D'Angelo reflected on how she likely passed up the chance for a "bigger career" after she became a first-time mother at age 49.
In 2001, the actress welcomed twins Anton and Olivia Pacino with her former partner Al Pacino. D'Angelo, now 73, and Pacino, now 85, were in a relationship from 1996 to 2003.
During a recent interview with People magazine, D'Angelo opened up about prioritizing parenting over acting.
"If I would have been more focused, maybe I would have had a bigger career, but I was focused on my kids, to tell you the truth," she said.
BEVERLY D'ANGELO'S EX DIVORCED HER SO SHE COULD BE WITH AL PACINO: ‘IT WAS A GREAT LOVE MATCH’
"I had them so late, and it was like, ‘Well, been there, done that, let's do this,'" D'Angelo explained.
D'Angelo and Pacino conceived Anton and Olivia, now 25, through in vitro fertilization (IVF), a process that they began in 1997.
"Don't try it at home," D'Angelo joked to People of welcoming her children at 49.
DIANE KEATON'S DEATH LEAVES FORMER PARTNER AL PACINO DEEPLY SHAKEN: 'SHE WAS A WONDER'
The actress also explained that there was a generational divide between herself and the mothers of her children's classmates, noting that they "didn't really have the same references."
D'Angelo's made her career breakthrough in 1980, when she played legendary country singer Patsy Cline in the biopic "Coal Miner's Daughter," earning a Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance.
However, she became a household name after starring as Ellen Griswold opposite Chevy Chase's Clark Griswold in the hit 1983 comedy "National Lampoon's Vacation." D'Angelo and Chase returned for the movie's sequels including 1985's "National Lampoon's European Vacation," 1989's "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and 1997’s "Vegas Vacation."
While speaking with People magazine, D'Angelo explained that she chose a quieter upbringing for her children outside the typical celebrity-focused Hollywood lifestyle.
She recalled that she didn’t realize "National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation" had become a holiday staple until her then 10-year-old children mentioned that "everybody’s talking about" the movie at school.
"I did not raise my kids in that culture," D'Angelo said.
In addition to Anton and Olivia, Pacino is father to two other children. "The Godfather" star welcomed his first child, daughter Julie Pacino, with ex-girlfriend Jan Tarrant in 1989. At age 83, he became a father for the fourth time when he welcomed son, Roman, with his former partner Noor Alfallah in June 2023.

In a candid video that she shared on Instagram in May 2023, D'Angelo remembered falling in love with Pacino after they met for the first time on a flight from Los Angeles to New York in 1996.
"My story with Al began 27 years ago, two artists meeting, falling in love. We lived together for seven years, had two children, broke up, but continued steadily on our journey as co parents – and came to share our lives with a deeper kind of intimacy, honesty and acceptance than a ‘traditional’ relationship would have allowed, (for us at least)," D’Angelo wrote in the caption of her post.

D'Angelo continued to reminisce on her and Pacino’s love and said in 1997 he told her, "I want you to be the mother of my children."
Although D’Angelo pointed out that she "avoided" playing the "role" of mother her whole life, she said she was "deeply in love" with Pacino and was "one hundred percent in."
After their relationship got "complicated," D’Angelo went on to say that the "power" of love for their children was the "basis for resolving any conflicts and creating a new history as co-parents, leading individual lives separately but always intertwined as a family."
"As for me and Al, it is a unique and profound friendship between two artists that endures to this day, through thick and thin, 27 years now of doing it our way, and there you have it," she concluded her video.
Muslim dad, sons allegedly drowned teen over 'Western' lifestyle, refusing to wear headscarf
Dutch prosecutors demanded Friday that a Muslim father and his two sons face up to 25 years in prison for allegedly drowning an 18-year-old family member because they believed her "Western" behavior was bringing shame to the family.
The body of Syrian woman Ryan Al Najjar was found submerged in a lake with hands and feet bound tightly on May 28, 2024, near Joure in northern Netherlands, six days after disappearing, according to authorities. Officials arrested her father and two brothers, then aged 22 and 24, and charged them in connection with her killing, which prosecutors said likely happened on May 22.
"They saw Ryan as a burden that had to be removed," the Public Prosecution Service said Friday. "Just because she was a young woman who wanted to live her own life."
Authorities said her male relatives, who come from what they described as a "strict" Islamic family, allegedly killed her after believing she was "behaving too Western in the eyes of her family." Al Najjar was reportedly targeted after refusing to wear a headscarf in public-like settings.
MOTHER SAYS ALLEGED STALKER WHO KILLED HER DAUGHTER SHOULD BE TRIED AS AN ADULT
"The immediate cause of her death appears to be a live video on TikTok, showing Ryan without a headscarf and wearing makeup," prosecutors said Friday. "The video seriously embarrasses the family, according to their posts, as it does not fit within their traditional views."
"Once the suspects were aware of the video, they started looking for Ryan," the authorities added. "According to the Public Prosecution Service, her brothers visited her in Rotterdam and convinced her to come along to a remote location the night before her murder. She was taken to Knardijk, where their father joined. There she was killed."
Local media NL Times identified the brothers as Mohamed Al Najjar and Muhanad, and their 53-year-old father as Khaled. All three were charged with murdering the young woman, while their father was accused of orchestrating the killing before likely fleeing to Syria, prosecutors said.
CHARLOTTE TRAIN STABBING SUSPECT'S BROTHER SAYS KILLING COULD HAVE BEEN 'PREVENTED'
Investigators say Al Najjar was taken to a remote park where "no one for miles around could have heard her" cries for help. Evidence showed signs of strangulation and drowning, and approximately 60 feet of tape had been used to bind her before she was thrown into the water alive. Prosecutors reported that Khaled’s DNA was also found under his daughter’s fingernails, suggesting he was present during the killing.
"[Khaled] fled to Syria immediately after the murder and left his sons to take the blame. Cowardly," the Public Prosecution Service wrote in a statement Friday, according to NL Times. "Khaled has completely destroyed his family."
Dutch authorities added that extraditing Khaled may be difficult because he married a woman in Syria since Al Najjar's death, the outlet reported.
The Public Prosecution Service has recommended a 25-year prison sentence for the father and 20 years for each of the two brothers.
The court is scheduled to issue its ruling on Jan. 5.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Public Prosecution Service for more information.
