Moving along....what a week for the golf industry and commercials. I'm sure you guys have been following the Good Good vs. Callaway drama. Let this serve as a reminder that it isn't hard to make a golf commercial. For example, look at how Chili's made this commercial, or social media content, with PGA golf wife Jena Sims. This is how you make a golf commercial that won't get canceled.
You hire a hot woman. You have her hit a golf ball off a cart barn, everyone laughs, the hot woman smiles, everyone feels great and woke mobs don't even blink.
"At least I look cute," Sims says as she hits one off the barn. Exactly.

⢠Thank you to all of you who took time to subscribe this week to the Screencaps YouTube page. I had no idea so many people would want to hear my take on viral videos, but here we are over 1k and rolling along.
⢠Screencaps Jr. turns 14 today. The best part about this age for me is watching him handle himself in public. Wednesday night, he needed new spikes for cross-country, so I took him to the local running shoe store. When we walked in, I told him to handle the conversation with the clerk, who is a cross-country runner himself. I stayed out of it.Â

One of my biggest goals with my kids is for them to be able to handle themselves in public and have the ability to read a room. He handled himself the other night like a pro. It was fun to watch.
⢠Speaking of running, the road to the Ohio Jr. High State Championships starts tomorrow in Celina, OH. I still can't believe where we're at today vs. a year ago with cross-country. I had never been to a cross-country event. I'd never watched it online. Not a single immediate family member had ever run.
Now? We're pumped up to get on the road and drive 90 minutes to watch a 12-minute race. The hope is that he'll be running sub-12 to start the season. We'll see. There's a sinus cold going through the house. It's time to power through.
God bless those of you who deal with this stuff week after week. I love watching football, but I don't think I could possibly stand to be living inside this world.

Kinsey: Why was Sale's kid shocked? His dad was allowed to go back out and pitch the 9th inning in a 1-0 game while nearing 100 pitches. Sales ended up with 109 pitches. Why is this impressive? Because no pitcher in Major League Baseball has more than one complete game shutout this season. There have been just nine this season.
â Jase asks: What do you think about the NFL discontinuing the Pro Bowl as a game? I'm surprised it took this long. The only All-Star Game I still watch is MLB.
Kinsey: I'm convinced the NFL will replace it with some sort of flag football championship. Don't think for a second the NFL is going to give up that weekend to the NBA. That's not happening. They're cooking up something and with flag football at the 2028 Olympics, I'm expecting them to use this open weekend for their new baby, NFL Flag.
â Chris B. in Florida/North Carolina emails: A few years ago â well into the Commanders' era â I was checking out of a hotel in Baker City, Oregon (thereâs a whole other story, but itâs not relevant to this). The desk clerk, who was clearly Native American (probably Payute or Nez Perce in that area, but I didnât ask) was wearing an old-school Redskins cap. I complimented him on it and his excellent use of irony, and he just thanked me and laughed.
â Philly Ray in MN shares: Your story about the kid needing to raise $600 for school reminded me of my favorite fundraiser. Our neighbor's son played on the high school football team and they sold, and delivered water softener salt before the season started. He even emptied the bags into the softener so he got some extra lifting and saved me a trip to Home Depot (not sponsored). Please get rid of the coupon books, wrapping paper and magazine subscriptions for something most people can use.
Kinsey: The local boys lacrosse team delivers mulch in the spring. This is the first I'm hearing of a water softener salt fundraiser. I'm with you. Provide something we can all use and let's talk business. Or I'll just give cash. The marching band kids come through with a bucket. I'm fine with that.
â 'Sheriff' John in Houston says donate a little more and the benefits are actually pretty good: I think I've written you about this subject before, but this year - my last year of having a kid in school - I explicitly told the football coach and the band director earlier this month that I was making the maximum "family sponsorship" to the respective booster clubs ($500 apiece) and did not intend for my son to participate in the organized begging this year (otherwise known as "fundraising"). Neither party complained and thus far it has been quite pleasant getting to avoid the constant shaming and I don't feel guilty at all.
An interesting aspect - when you make the maximum sponsorship you get all kinds of goodies in return: spirit merchandise, a discount code for more merchandise for family members, your name on the t-shirt, and your name at the top of the membership list that literally is emailed out once a month. When you give in to the begging nowadays you don't get anything in return anymore, not even a World's Finest chocolate bar. I wish I had thought of this sooner.

Soros-backed DA accused of going easy on illegal immigrants gets squeezed by House GOP
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is warning that subpoenas are on the table if county prosecutors accused of going easy on illegal immigrants who commit crimes do not cooperate.
Jordan's committee is investigating district attorneys for so-called "sanctuary jurisdictions" who have been accused of taking immigration status into account when pursuing criminal complaints, even when the alleged crime has nothing to do with the suspect's legal status.
"If we have to, we'll use subpoenas to get the documents that we think they may not be giving us. There's a process we always go through. We ask for things, we ask again, we explain why, we work with their office â in some cases their counsel â and back and forth," Jordan explained in an interview with Fox News Digital. "And then if we have to use subpoenas, we certainly will do that ... but we want to know the facts."
Of particular concern, Jordan said, is Fairfax County, Virginia, DA Steve Descano. Descano was recently thrust under scrutiny after the stabbing death of 41-year-old U.S. citizen Stephanie Minter, whose accused killer came to the U.S. illegally from Sierra Leone in 2012.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said the man had been arrested over 30 times before Minter's killing.
Descano, who has led the Fairfax County District Attorney's Office since January 2020, issued plea bargaining guidance that year saying prosecutors should "consider immigration consequences where possible" and consider "the collateral immigration consequences of the specific crime(s) the defendant is charged with," according to local outlet WTOP News.
Fairfax County is known as a sanctuary jurisdiction, meaning local law enforcement is not bound to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
"This is one of the dumbest policies I've ever heard of. You're going to tell local law enforcement not to work with federal law enforcement when it comes to enforcing federal law?" Jordan said. "And then you have people like Mr. Descano, who are releasing bad guys, and they have a stated policy saying, you know, 'We will look at their immigration status before we make a decision on charging,' and in certain clear agreements and they're releasing guys. You have then you have bad things happen."
He noted Minter's case as an example.

Descano's 2019 campaign for DA notably received hundreds of thousands of dollars from Justice and Public Safety PAC, which boasts billionaire George Soros among its backers.
Fairfax County happens to be a major suburb of Washington, D.C. Jordan argued its proximity to the country's national security epicenter made its sanctuary policies even more dangerous.
"That's definitely a concern that I think probably any American with common sense would have," he said.
But there are other sanctuary jurisdictions his committee would probe as well, Jordan suggested.
"You've got not just Descano, but it looks like Alvin Bragg up in New York, [Larry Krasner] in Philadelphia, so many of these DAs who are doing the same darn thing," he said.
Fox News Digital reached out to Descano's office for comment.
House Dem Debbie Dingell places Trump's Lake Ontario name change in the crosshairs
Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich. declared that she will introduce legislation targeting President Donald Trump's executive order to rename Lake Ontario as Lake America.
"The Great Lakes are a shared treasure that generations of Americans and Canadians have worked together to protect. Thatâs why I'm introducing legislation to keep Lake Ontario as Lake Ontario and block President Trumpâs idiotic order," Dingell declared in a Thursday post on X.
The president's executive order called for updating "the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) to reflect the renaming of the Lake and remove all references to Lake Ontario from the GNIS, consistent with applicable law."
The order also stated that, "The Board on Geographic Names shall provide guidance to ensure all Federal Government references to Lake Ontario, including on executive department and agency maps, contracts, and other documents and communications, shall reflect its renaming."
TRUMP RENAMES LAKE ONTARIO 'LAKE AMERICA' AMID INTENSIFYING US-CANADA TRADE DISPUTE
Trump posted to Truth Social on Thursday what appeared to be the content of a message from U.S. Geological Survey Director Dr. Ned Mamula.
"As of 4:30 pm today the U.S. Geological Survey has officially designated the former Lake Ontario to be renamed as Lake America in all official USGS electronic documents," Mamula noted. "The change will begin occurring in printed documents over the next several days. This change has also been made official in the Geographic Names Information System."
Dingell's post on X linked to a Politico report, which stated that Dingell noted in an interview that she plans to introduce a measure on Monday to nullify Trump's move to change the lake's name.
NEW YORK GOV HOCHUL REJECTS TRUMP'S 'LAKE AMERICA' RENAMING WITH BLUNT MESSAGE
The report linked to a copy of Dingellâs proposed "Hands Off Our Great Lakes Act," which would declare that Trumpâs Aug. 27 order renaming Lake Ontario "Lake America," along with actions taken under it, has "no force or effect."
Fox News Digital reached out to the White House and to Dingell's office early on Friday morning.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney declared in a Thursday post on X, "The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontariâio, which, appropriately, means 'the lake is beautiful, the lake is big'. The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.
"We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms. Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario â then, now and always," Carney said in the post.

On November 17, 1863, Abraham Lincoln signed an executive order fixing the eastern terminus of the transcontinental railroad at Council Bluffs, Iowa. A modest town on the Missouri River became Mile Zero of the infrastructure that built industrial America. By the early 20th century, eight major railroads ran through Council Bluffs, and a farm-state river crossing had become one of the great junction points of the American economy.
A century and a half later, Council Bluffs is Mile Zero again.
In 2007, Google chose this town of 62,000 for one of its first company-built data centers. The company recognized, as Lincoln did, that America's infrastructure runs through the middle of the country. Whatâs also clear today are the extraordinary benefits that flow to the states and cities hosting 21st century infrastructure, such as data centers.

Consider Iowa, where Google has now invested more than $20 billion since breaking ground in Council Bluffs. The investment is ongoing. Last year, the company committed another $7 billion to expand its presence in Council Bluffs and build an entirely new campus in Cedar Rapids.
Google is not alone in committing capital to Iowa. Meta operates one of its largest data center campuses in Altoona. Microsoft has poured billions into West Des Moines. The state that critics once flew over has become the crossroads of the cloud.
SILICON VALLEY IS LOSING THE DATA CENTER FIGHT, RISKING A REPEAT OF A CLASSIC FAILURE
A small but vocal band of pressure groups claim that data centers are big buildings with few workers inside. But judging a data center by the headcount is like judging the transcontinental railroad by the number of stationmasters. The wealth was never in the depot. It was in everything the depot made possible.
Look at what the buildout actually creates. Google is funding a partnership with an entity known as the electrical training ALLIANCE. It was created by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the National Electrical Contractors Association and the partnership will massively expand Iowa's electrical workforce pipeline. Seven hundred apprentices will be trained in Cedar Rapids by 2030.
META OFFERS PAID TRAINING FOR AI DATA CENTER JOBS
These are careers in the skilled trades: electricians, pipefitters, welders, HVAC technicians. No four-year degree, no student debt. A high school graduate in eastern Iowa can walk into an apprenticeship and wire the machines that run the artificial intelligence economy. Construction of a single campus puts more than a thousand tradesmen to work for years at a time. And the ripple effects reach Main Street: Google's presence generated $2.7 billion in economic activity for Iowa last year. That translates to high-paying jobs for Iowa workers throughout the state.
The community dividends are just as concrete. When Google learned that some Council Bluffs students had laptops but no internet at home, it extended its own wireless network to serve them for free. The company has put millions into local schools and nonprofits and funded the city's free public Wi-Fi. It also committed to replenishing 120 percent of the water it consumes, starting with a $1.3 million Missouri River Basin conservation project.

None of this happened by accident. Iowa's leaders â Governor Kim Reynolds, Senator Joni Ernst, local officials in both parties â competed for this investment with low taxes, sensible permitting, and a simple message: build here. Other states chose differently. They held hearings, added conditions, studied the question until the cranes went elsewhere. The capital didn't wait. It never does.

This is the choice now facing hundreds of American communities, because the AI buildout is the largest infrastructure project in our history â bigger in real dollars than the railroads, rural electrification, or the interstate highways.
Lincoln understood, even amid a brutal civil war, that laying the groundwork to bind the country together with iron and steam merited his firm commitment. That same resolve is needed today. The states and cities that welcome the technology companies laying the foundation for Americaâs economic future will, like Council Bluffs, reap the benefits of being at the junction points of the next American century.
Scott Brown on Ruthless: Sophie Cunningham has the guts to challenge men competing in womenâs sports
In an interview with the Ruthless Podcast, Scott Brown, former U.S. Senator and current Senate candidate in New Hampshire, commended Indiana Fever shooting guard Sophie Cunningham for her advocacy on behalf of womenâs sports.Â
"I donât miss a game when the [Indiana] Fever [are] playing," Brown said in an interview released Friday morning. "Sophie Cunningham had the guts to get up and challenge this crazy ideology and put up with that crap."
Cunningham made news earlier this summer when she said that female athletes shouldnât have to compete against biological men. Â
SEN RON JOHNSON DETAILS SENATE FILIBUSTER STRATEGY ON âRUTHLESS'
Brown is no newcomer to the womenâs sports debate. His daughter, Ayla, was a basketball player at Boston College.
"My daughter committed to Boston College at 15,"Â Brown, who served as ambassador to New Zealand during President Donald Trump's first term, said. "[She was a] Gatorade Player of the Year, two years in a row, 2,358 points in high school. And they had men, practice players, coming in and trying to make them better because they were bigger and stronger. To think one of them was going to take my baby's job."
Earlier this month, Brown criticized the Womenâs National Basketball Association (WNBA) in an opinion piece in the Union Leader over its policies regarding transgender athletes.Â
"It's hypocritical," Brown said of the league to the Fellas in the interview. "It's a no-brainer. The WNBA better get their you-know-what together because they're going to lose it all without even blinking."
Brown is currently running for Senate, looking to replace the retiring Jeanne Shaheen.Â
Brown shocked the political world with his January 2010 Massachusetts U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, defeating Martha Coakley in a special election to finish the term of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy.
In the Republican primary on Sept. 8, Brown faces another former senator: John Sununu. Ruthless interviewed Sununu earlier this month.Â
On the Democratic side, Rep. Chris Pappas faces several challengers, including Karishma Manzur."
The general election will take place on November 3rd.

Longtime Republican Al Michaels took a jab at Trump and NFL fans went spiraling out of control
Al Michaels, 81, might still have his fastball. For years, he's been teetering. Believe me, I've spent many a Friday morning writing about how bad Al was on the call the night before.
But during Amazon Prime's one and only preseason game Thursday night, Michaels came out firing â and, naturally, set the internet ablaze in the process.
"That is Lake Erie. We think it is still called Lake Erie ... We're not quite sure at this point," Michaels said during the Patriots-Browns broadcast in Cleveland.

Now, because we live in such a divisive time, fans went nuts over Al's comments last night. Some loved the jab at Trump. Others hated it.
Weirdly, the internet couldn't seem to agree on it. Shocking, I know.
"NFL fans donât want to watch Trump-hating, America-last announcers. Al Michaels must apologize," one fan said on X.
"He should be grateful to live in a country that would pay someone who is barely alive millions to butcher a football game," added another.
"Remember when Bob Costas tried to get political in 2012 about gun control and he managed to piss off pretty much every person and the nation ..." said a third.
Amazing.
Of course, you had the complete other side of the spectrum, too.

That's true. Al would absolutely give us a history lesson on all the great lakes in America (Canada?) if he had the time. Lord knows Bob Costas would've done it whether he had the time or not.
Anyway, I'd chalk it up to a solid start to Thursday Night Football this season. Al Michaels is still making waves at 81, and that's say something after the past few years.

Senator Chris Murphy calls idea mass immigration is putting US at risk a 'fake problem'
U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., argued on Wednesday that the idea that mass immigration puts the U.S. at risk is a "fake problem."
During an interview with Connecticut news outlet the CT Mirror Murphy was asked about the arrests of parents at a bus stop in Danbury by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Murphy said the intent of these arrests was to "terrorize these little kids" before promoting his work to oppose ICE and protect immigrants.
Host John Dankosky then asked Murphy, "Longer term, what can and should be done to solve this problem?"
Murphy argued that President Donald Trump's administration was trying to solve a "fake problem" of mass immigration creating more crime rather than fixing an immigration system that appears to operate "without rules."
MAMDANI SHRUGS OFF DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONCERNS OVER HIS 'ABOLISH ICE' PUSH
"The problem, according to the Trump administration, is a country that has been invaded, a country that is at risk physically because of the presence of people from other countries," Murphy responded. "That is a fake problem. That is not a real problem."
"Nobody likes to hear this," he added, "but immigrants, first generation immigrants and undocumented immigrants both commit crimes at rates lower than natural-born Americans, than people that are born here in this country. So if you want to live in a safe community, you are actually better off living in a community with people that just got to the United States of America. And so we're not seeking to solve âa problemâ of migrant crime."
Murphy conceded that the U.S. immigration system does "frustrate" Americans across the political spectrum "when we have a system of immigration that appears lawless, that appears without rules."
"That you can have your mom or dad or grandmother wait in line for years and years and years and then someone comes across the border who doesn't actually have a legal claim to stay in the U.S. and gets to be here for years. That's the problem we have to solve," he added.
When asked by a listener whether he would dismantle ICE as an institution, he replied that people need to "tear down ICE and rebuild it" arguing that "this version of ICE should not remain or come back if Democrats control the presidency or Congress."
Murphy has drawn scrutiny over his stance on immigration, including past comments stating that Democratic policy has "failed to deliver for the people we care about most, the undocumented Americans that are in this country."
Daniel Di Martino, a Manhattan Institute fellow and Venezuelan-born economist, suggested that while Murphyâs point about immigrant crime levels may be technically correct, demographic differences skew those figures.
"It is true that the average immigrant, legal or illegal, is less likely to commit crime. For example, while according to the census' latest five-year American Community Survey over 2% of [A]merican-born between 18 and 59 years old are imprisoned, only 0.75% of immigrant men are," he began." When we split groups by nativity and race, we see that even non-Hispanic White men are more likely to be in prison than foreign-born men with 1.2% of White men in prison. Black and Native American men lead with the highest imprisonment rate with nearly 6.5% of each of these groups in a carceral facility."

Di Martino noted that crime rates among immigrants also vary by country of origin.
"Among immigrants, it is Hondurans who have the highest imprisonment rate at 1.7% of their men in jail. Mexicans also have a higher imprisonment rate than White men at 1.4%. Europeans, South Americans, and Asian immigrants all have very low crime rates," he said. "Indian men specifically are the group with the lowest imprisonment rate among all large immigrant origins with barely 0.09% of them in jail, likely because the majority of Indian immigrants are high-skilled immigrants on H-1B visas or already have green cards or citizenship through employment."
Beyond demographics, he argued that one key feature skews the number of crimes committed by American-born citizens.
"But the crime gap between immigrants and natives in the United States hides an important fact: Immigrants who commit a crime tend to be deported and thus cannot reoffend," he said. "Since most crimes are committed by career criminals who reoffend after release, non-citizens do not get as many chances to reoffend as native-born Americans. This is a good thing and criminal non-citizens should be deported."

Theo Wold, former assistant attorney general and former White House deputy assistant for domestic policy under Trump, spoke to Fox News Digital about Murphyâs comments.
"There are no reliable statistics showing that illegal immigrants commit fewer crimes â and Democrats are the reason. They have blocked efforts to record and report illegal immigrant crime for decades so they can spout pseudo-statistics like these, made up out of whole cloth," he said.
"Illegal immigration is a real issue for ordinary Americans â both crime and economic displacement. A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security also defended ICE.

The spokesman concluded, "Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, if you break the law, you will face the consequences. Illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S. We will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you whether Connecticutâs pro-criminal illegal alien senator likes it or not."
Micah Parsons' brother defends Josh Jacobs for maybe being guilty of only 'a shove' of ex-girlfriend
Terrence Parsons Jr. is the older brother of Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons and, aside from that, he's known for controversial opinions about the NFL. But on Thursday evening big brother stepped on a figurative landmine.
That's because Parsons Jr. decided to discuss the Josh Jacobs legal situation that is now the top story for the Packers. And it was a disaster.
Jacobs is in the investigative crosshairs of both the Brown County District Attorney and the NFL after being charged with misdemeanor battery on his ex-girlfriend. He's also charged with damaging her phone.

It's a rough situation because, as OutKick reported on Thursday, the DA's office says it has surveillance video from a garage camera of the alleged physical altercation between the running back and the woman.
So, what's the problem for Parsons Jr.?
He apparently doesn't think Jacobs allegedly knocking down the woman and busting up her phone, resulting in the misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property, is that serious.
Certainly not serious enough to cost Jacobs his NFL career.
"A shove?" Parsons typed on X. "Yall gotta relax anger gets the best out of anyone everyone deserves a second chance misdemeanors at that."
Ooof.
Parsons Jr. diminished the seriousness of what Jacobs allegedly did and rightly got ratioed for that opinion.
But the backlash made him sit down, reflect, consider that an NFL player knocking down a female is never a good idea, and then the brother to one of the league's best pass rushers walked it all back.
No he didn't. He doubled down.
"Iâll never be afraid to stand on what I believe in," Parsons Jr., then posted. "yall act like he sucker punched that girl this ainât a ray rice situation never said he was right but it ainât right calling for that manâs career."
This is where it must be stressed that Terrence Parsons Jr.'s opinion does not necessarily reflect that of Micah Parsons.
But Parsons Jr. bills himself as a "media personality," who is well known to Dallas Cowboys fans (and the team) for sharing opinions that make the organization cringe because of who he's related to is his thing.
It would not be surprising if the Packers are not happy with this. This opinion will very likely result in Micah Parsons at some point having to answer for his brother's defense of Jacobs.
Parsons Jr. is right in that he recognizes Jacobs is in deep trouble regardless of whether he is convicted of the two charges that carry up to an 18-month combined jail sentence or not.

The NFL is investigating Jacobs. It can, at its discretion, hand down discipline that could include a six-game suspension for Jacobs violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell can also decide to place Jacobs on the exempt list, which is basically a paid suspension until the matter is decided.
But Jacobs' status is also at risk long-term if the video District Attorney David L. Lasee described in his incident report indeed shows the NFL player allegedly knocking down his ex-girlfriend.
That could potentially put Jacobs at risk of getting the Ray Rice treatment from NFL teams who want nothing to do with the bad publicity of having him on their roster.
Parsons Jr. recognizes that.
And he decided minimizing what Jacobs did to try to help avoid that for his brother's teammate was the way he wanted to address the matter.
Free climber stranded on Georgia rock face calls 911, prompting dramatic rescue by firefighter
A free climber who called 911 after becoming stranded on a Georgia cliff face was rescued Tuesday by a firefighter who rappelled down to reach him.
The climber, who hasn't been identified by authorities, was stuck on the west face of Mount Yonah, a 3,166-foot mountain ridge in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in North Georgia.
According to White County Public Safety officials, the man called 911 at around 7 p.m. to report that he was unable to safely climb up or down the mountain.
Authorities used a drone to locate the man, who was standing on a 20" by 20" ledge approximately 260 feet up the mountain.

White County firefighter Will Roper rappelled down the mountain to reach the man. Drone video showed Roper maneuvering beneath him before securing him in a harness and clipping him to the rope. The climber was then hoisted to the top of the mountain.
The entire rescue operation took about 42 minutes, officials said.
Roper told FOX 5 Atlanta said this was the first time he's had to rescue someone on a mountain.
"I've done a lot with dummies and a lot with other firefighters in training, but that's the first time that I've ever done it, kind of in the heat of the moment with a live subject," Roper said.
"It was a little nerve-racking going over the edge," he added.
Roper said the climber was strikingly calm, telling FOX 5 he jokingly asked him: "Have you been rescued before? You're pretty good at this."
The climber told Roper that he had experience with Mount Yonah but simply picked the wrong route and got stuck.
"I've been on kind of a high since then, just to have the first rescue," Roper said, adding that he was glad to be able to help someone using his technical training.
Popular beach town rejects noise, trash and traffic as it weighs stricter vacation rental rules
A popular Florida beach community is weighing tighter rules for its short-term vacation rentals after full-time residents have raised concerns about visitors' noise, overflowing trash and parking complications.
The proposal under consideration for Pensacola Beach could create a registry for vacation rentals. It could require owners to designate someone who can be reached 24/7 when problems arise, according to reports.
Rhonda Dorfman, president of Pensacola Beach Advocates and a full-time resident of the island, told Fox News Digital that one concern is giving law enforcement a clear point of contact when complaints are made at rental properties.

"The sheriff's deputies have a very difficult time finding out who's in charge here," Dorfman said, noting that calls can involve complaints about noise and underage drinking.
She said many problems are tied to larger vacation homes that can accommodate dozens of guests.
"It's not the three- and four-person families that come out to the beach," Dorfman said.Â
Instead, she said, some homes "sleep 30 or 40 people â and that is where we're getting the problems."
Large groups can also put pressure on parking and trash collection, she said.

"If you have a home that sleeps 30 or 40 people, even if you put five people in a car, that's six cars," Dorfman said.
Trash left outside between guest checkouts and scheduled collection days has also become a concern, she indicated.
"That trash sits out there in the heat. It stinks. It's ugly," she said.
Noise can become another issue at night, with Pensacola Beach's noise ordinance taking effect at 10 p.m., according to Dorfman.

Still, she noted that vacationers come to Pensacola Beach to enjoy themselves during the summer.
"You work 50 weeks out of the year, you save up for your vacation, and you want to have a good time," she said.
"We know you're here on vacation, and we want you to have a wonderful time, but you are in a residential community," Dorfman said.Â

Some Reddit commenters have pushed back against criticism of visitors, pointing to the economic activity that tourism brings to the Pensacola area.

"We don't want to get rid of short-term rentals," she said. "We want our low-density residential communities to still feel like a community."
She said officials are looking at regulations used in other Florida communities, including Gulf Breeze, Anna Maria Island and Panama City, as they consider what could work for Pensacola Beach.
