PSG Champions League victory causes chaos in Paris, with 45 arrested and fires set across city
At least 45 people were arrested in Paris on Saturday after celebrations over Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League victory descended into chaos, with fires set, businesses vandalized and crowds clashing with police.
Police detained dozens of people as crowds gathered across the French capital following PSG's victory.
Large crowds gathered near the Arc de Triomphe after the match, with some fans setting off flares and blaring car horns, according to reports from The Associated Press.
Police worked to contain thousands of people gathered along the Champs-Élysées.
According to authorities, a group of individuals attempted to storm a police station in the French capital late Saturday.
The Paris police prefecture said some people vandalized shops, set fires and torched vehicles during the unrest.
A bakery and a restaurant were damaged during the disturbances, police said.

Authorities also said a crowd briefly blocked the main ring road surrounding the city before police dispersed the gathering.
One police officer was injured, according to police.
As of 10 p.m. local time, police had arrested at least 45 people.
Celebrations erupted across Paris after PSG defeated Arsenal in a dramatic Champions League final, securing one of the club’s biggest achievements on the European stage.
Violent celebrations also followed PSG's previous Champions League triumph. After the club won the title last year, 201 people were injured in Paris and more than 500 arrests were made across France.

The Oklahoma City Thunder took on the San Antonio Spurs Saturday night to decide the Western Conference title, after a back-and-forth series that has seen both teams leading at various points.
But Game 7 was closely contested, with the Spurs outlasting the defending champion Thunder to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals and set up a rematch with the New York Knicks from the league's 1999 championship series. San Antonio won that title in five games.
The Thunder-Spurs Game 7 marked the 160th winner-take-all game in NBA history and the fifth this season.

Victor Wembanyama led San Antonio with 22 points and seven rebounds in the 111-103 victory. Two-time reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a team-high 35 points for Oklahoma City.
The Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years.
In late April, New York trailed Atlanta 2-1 after back-to-back one-point losses in Games 2 and 3 of their first-round series. The Knicks are 11-0 in playoff games since, winning almost all those games by blowout.
No matter who wins this Finals series, it'll be the eighth different franchise to win a title in the last eight seasons — extending the longest such stretch in NBA history.
Toronto won in 2019, followed by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, then Milwaukee in 2021, Golden State in 2022, Denver in 2023, Boston in 2024, Oklahoma City last year, and now either New York or San Antonio will be added to that list.
No defending champion has even made a repeat trip to the NBA Finals since Golden State won in 2018 and returned in 2019.
Entering Saturday, the Spurs had not reached the NBA Finals since winning the 2014 championship, defeating the Miami Heat in five games.
Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals is scheduled to tip off Wednesday in San Antonio.

California neighborhood on alert after bat found near sidewalk tests positive for rabies virus
A rabid bat found near a California neighborhood has prompted health officials to urge residents to avoid contact with wildlife and seek immediate medical attention if they believe they may have been exposed.
On May 26, a bat was found near Palo Verde Common in South Fremont, close to a sidewalk and "within reachable distance of pedestrians and animals," the Fremont Police Department said.
Alameda County Vector Control confirmed Thursday that the bat tested positive for rabies.
The agency said it is investigating the incident but noted there are currently no known human or animal exposures linked to the bat.
Residents in the area have been notified about the incident and the risks associated with rabies exposure, officials said.
"Rabies is a fatal disease caused by a virus that affects the brain and nervous system," police said in a news release.
"It is preventable if the exposed person or animal receives a series of rabies vaccine shots as soon as possible after exposure," the release added.
Authorities advised anyone who may have touched or been bitten by the bat to contact the Alameda County Public Health Acute Communicable Disease Program at 510-267-3250 and seek immediate medical attention.
Officials also warned residents to avoid contact with bats and other wild animals that may carry rabies.
Animals commonly associated with rabies include skunks, foxes, coyotes and raccoons.

"Unvaccinated dogs and cats are considered to be at medium to high risk of contracting and potentially spreading the rabies virus," police said.
"If you find a sick or dead animal, do not touch it," the release continued, adding that unusual animal behavior should be reported to Fremont Animal Services or the Alameda County Public Health Department.
Authorities also warned residents not to handle bats found in homes or yards.
Officials recommended several preventative measures, including keeping pets vaccinated against rabies.
Residents are also encouraged to keep pets confined to their property and remove outdoor food sources that may attract wildlife.

National anthem 'standoff' between Rays and Angels players leads to pregame ejections at Tropicana Field
The Los Angeles Angels rolled past the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. But the game was overshadowed by a pregame incident that resulted in three ejections before the first pitch was thrown.
The third-base umpire tossed Angels reliever Brent Suter and Rays pitchers Steven Wilson and Manuel Rodríguez from the late-afternoon game at Tropicana Field. The ejections stemmed from what appeared to be a "standoff" over the pregame national anthem.

Moments after "The Star-Spangled Banner" concluded, Suter remained standing near the third-base dugout. On the opposite side of the field, Wilson and Rodríguez stood near the first-base dugout alongside Rays mascots.
All of it unfolded with Drew Rasmussen ready to take the mound and Angels leadoff hitter Zach Neto standing in the batter’s box awaiting the first pitch.

The umpire eventually indicated that all three players involved in the pregame incident had been ejected. The game ultimately got underway as scheduled.
Suter pitched in Friday’s series opener between the Angels and Rays. It was unclear before Saturday’s game whether he would be available to pitch on consecutive days.
Rodríguez and Wilson have yet to make their season debuts. Rodríguez continues to recover from elbow surgery, while Wilson has been sidelined by lumbar disc inflammation.
The Angels went on to win 14-3. The Angels and Rays will meet Sunday afternoon in the series finale, with the three-game set tied at one game apiece.

Charter bus driver who allegedly caused crash killing 5 in Virginia charged with involuntary manslaughter
A charter bus driver has been charged after he allegedly caused a fatal crash in Virginia that left five people dead.
Jing S. Dong, a Staten Island, New York-based driver and non-English-speaking naturalized citizen from China who obtained his commercial license in 2024, has been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and has additional charges pending, the Virginia State Police said on Saturday.
Dong allegedly slammed into an SUV in front of his E&P Travel bus in the southbound lane of Interstate 95, causing that driver to crash into another vehicle around 2:35 a.m. Friday in Stafford County.
A teenage girl and young boy, who were in the car ahead of the one the bus hit, died along with their parents after their vehicle caught fire.

A woman who was in the SUV immediately in front of the bus, was also killed.
The family has been identified as Dmitri Doncev, 45, his wife Ecterina, 44, their 13-year-old daughter, Emily and 7-year-old son, Mark, all of Greenfield, Massachusetts.

The woman was identified as Priscilla R. Mafalda, 25, of Worcester, Massachusetts.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that traffic was slowing southbound for an upcoming work zone. A bus, operated by E&P Travel and heading from New York City to Charlotte, N.C., failed to slow for traffic and struck a Chevrolet Suburban," police said in a news release. "The Suburban was then forced into an Acura SUV as well as additional vehicles. The bus struck additional vehicles as well."
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on Friday revealed that Dong is a naturalized U.S. citizen from China and does not speak English, which is against federal regulations for bus drivers who must be able to speak and understand well enough to do their job safely.
"Unacceptable. This is exactly why we are holding states’ accountable, enforcing the rules of the road, and cracking down on drivers who can’t speak English," Duffy wrote on X. "If you can’t be properly trained, read our road signs, or communicate with law enforcement, you have no business driving a bus."
Duffy added that the Transportation Department is investigating, "New York licensing records, training documentation, and the driver's history. Any company, trainer, or school that contributed to putting an unqualified driver on the road will face intense scrutiny."
Trump floats replacing 250th anniversary concert with massive MAGA rally after artists pull out
President Donald Trump on Saturday floated the idea of hosting a massive MAGA rally to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary after numerous artists pulled out of a planned concert this summer.
In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump suggested scrapping the Great American State Fair’s Freedom 250 concerts. He also took aim at a federal judge who on Friday ordered that his name be removed from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
"We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain," Trump wrote.
"Cancel it, just like I canceled my involvement with the failing and unsafe to be in Kennedy Center, because a Highly Conflicted, Crooked Federal Judge, said that I should not be allowed to spend my time and money in order to MAKE THE CENTER GREAT AGAIN, actually, far greater than it ever was before!" he continued.

The comments came as several artists backed out of performing at the Great American State Fair, a large-scale national celebration planned on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., stretching from the U.S. Capitol to the Washington Monument.
The event is scheduled to run from June 25 through July 10, 2026, as part of the nation’s America 250 celebration.
Earlier this week, Freedom 250 organizers released a list of performers slated to appear at the event, but several artists later withdrew, including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MC, Morris Day and The Time, and C+C Music Factory.

Other performers, including rapper Vanilla Ice, have said they are "honored" to participate.
In a separate social media post Saturday, Trump suggested he could replace the concert with a major speech after several artists got "the yips."
"I understand Artists are getting 'the yips' having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate 'Artists,' and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!" Trump wrote.

Trump said he was considering delivering the speech and holding a rally June 24 to kick off the festivities.

Freedom 250 later announced that Trump would, in fact, deliver a speech ahead of the Great American State Fair.
"As the visionary behind the Great American State Fair, we are excited to announce that President Trump will personally kick off this historic celebration on Wednesday, June 24 in an opening ceremony celebrating America’s 250th birthday," Freedom 250 spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez wrote on X.

LGBTQ press conference at track meet involving trans athlete descends into chaos, police summoned
Chaos erupted between "Save Girls Sports" activists and pro-LGBTQ activists outside of a California championship track meet involving a trans athlete, as multiple police officers were summoned to the incident.
A press conference, organized by the local California LGBTQ advocacy groups Pride at the Pier and Rainbow Families Action, began outside of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) state championship in Clovis, where trans athlete AB Hernandez is looking to win state titles in three girls' jumping events.
Hernandez's mother, Nereyda Hernandez, and other LGBTQ activists spoke in support of the trans athlete.

Near the end of the press conference, a group of "Save Girls Sports" activists showed up and engaged in a heated verbal confrontation with participants in the LGBTQ press conference.
Clovis Police Department vehicles were parked in the vicinity, and multiple officers came to oversee the confrontation when the shouting began.
Eventually, the confrontation dissipated without any direct intervention by police.
The Clovis Police Department declined to comment to Fox News Digital.
Prominent California "Save Girls Sports" activist Beth Bourne, who led the counterprotest, spoke to Fox News Digital after the incident.
"I just wanted to share my signs... and just talk about how not only is this unfair to the girls competing in sports, but it's also unfair to the athlete, to AB Hernandez, to lie to him about his biological reality," Bourne said.
Pro-LGBTQ activist Daisy Gardner addressed Bourne in an interview with Fox News Digital.
"I hope that she is able to learn and educate and open up her heart and heal with her family," Gardner said of Bourne.
This year's CIF state finals has been overshadowed by controversy related to Hernandez's presence for the second year in a row.
At last year's state finals, opposing protesters showed up, and one pro-transgender activist was arrested on charges of allegedly assaulting a "Save Girls Sports" activist with a trans pride flag.
Senate candidate Graham Platner sent explicit texts to multiple women while married, wife says: report
Graham Platner, the Democratic candidate looking to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins in Maine, exchanged sexual texts with several women after marrying his wife two years ago, according to a report.
Platner’s campaign confirmed the text exchanges to Politico following a report from the Wall Street Journal that claimed his wife, Amy Gertner, told a campaign aide about the texts after he launched his senate bid as they began looking into potential political liabilities.
Gertner discovered the messages months after the couple married in 2024, the WSJ reported.
She made the private revelation before Platner held a campaign rally last year supported by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., but the aide decided the texts were a private matter for the couple, the campaign said, according to the newspaper.

Gertner said in a statement to the Journal: "I confided deeply personal details about my marriage to someone I considered a friend. I trusted this person with the most private chapter of our lives — the early days of our marriage before any campaign was on our mind — and I am deeply hurt by her betrayal and the invasion of our privacy."
She added that she and her husband: "Did the hard work that marriage requires. We went to counseling. We were honest with each other in ways that weren’t easy. And we came through it, not in spite of how much we’ve been through, but because of how much we love each other and the life we’ve built. Our marriage today is stronger than ever before."
Gertner added, "I know who Graham is. I know the man I married and the husband he has been to me on the best and the worst days of my life. That hasn’t changed, and it won’t."

Platner, an oyster farmer and veteran who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, has also faced a number of controversies before this, including a since-removed tattoo that resembled a Nazi symbol, and past controversial comments on Reddit minimizing sexual assault and making crude remarks about masturbation and a deleted post where he claimed a wounded soldier "didn’t deserve to live."
Despite all this, a recent poll from the University of New Hampshire showed Platner holding a 51% to 42% lead among likely Maine voters.
Platner is considered the presumptive Democratic nominee after Maine Gov. Janet Mills dropped out of the race in April.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Platner’s campaign for comment.
Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., reiterated his support for Platner on Saturday.
"I am proud of @grahamformaine for having the character to stand up against the war in Iran, against genocide, and against an unfair & lopsided economy," he wrote on X. "I am proud of him for having a vision for a new deal for our time. Excited to campaign with him June 5!"
Collins has called Platner too extreme for Maine.
"I believe that will be the conclusion of Maine voters," she previously told Fox News Digital. "But, obviously, I don't take anything for granted."
Platner, in a Fox News Digital interview a week later, argued, "What's radical is somebody like Susan Collins, who, for decades now, has made sure that we pass policies that are going to help corporations and billionaires to the detriment of working people, supporting over and over and over again, illegal and insane foreign wars."
NYPD investigating after surveillance video captures group entering sewers through manholes
Police in New York City are investigating after several people were caught on surveillance video this week going into the sewer via a manhole and emerging hours later.
"Earlier today, authorities conducted a thorough investigation following reports of unauthorized individuals inside the sewer system on McDonald Avenue," the NYPD said on social media. "The NYPD and other agencies have completed their sweep, confirming the area is safe and free of hazards."
The people were seen entering the manhole around 11 p.m. on Thursday in the Flatbush neighborhood in Brooklyn and reemerging around 2 a.m. on Friday, according to PIX 11-TV.
Another group was seen going into a manhole on another street and coming out around the same hours, the station reported, citing police.

The police don’t yet know who the sewer explorers were or what they were up to.
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection also did its own inspection, telling Fox News Digital: "DEP has inspected the sewer infrastructure at this location and found no damage to the system."
The spokesperson warned, "Entering the sewer system is both illegal and extremely dangerous. Sewers can contain numerous hazards, including noxious and potentially deadly gases, unstable surfaces, flooding risks, and confined spaces. For these reasons, members of the public should never enter a pipe, drain, catch basin, manhole, or outfall."

The singer's most recent full-length album was released in October 2024, and featured many big hits, such as "Cowboys Cry Too" and "Baggage." A deluxe addition of the album was released in March 2025.
