Lions star Amon-Ra St Brown explains why he isn't fan of playing on Christmas: 'Don't even like it'
While football fans may enjoy some NFL football on Christmas Day, not all players share the same thoughts.
Detroit Lions star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown revealed on his "St. Brown Podcast" with his older brother, Equanimeous, that he isn’t a fan of having to work on the holidays.
The Lions, who play yearly on Thanksgiving Day, will play at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas.

"The two biggest holidays I feel like in the United States, we played on both of them." Amon-Ra told his brother.
"And I don’t even have kids yet. If I had kids, I’d be even more pissed. Like, you can’t be spending it with your family, get to see your kids open gifts. I feel like that’s something that a lot of parents love to see and can’t wait for.
"I don’t even like it, and I’m not even a f---ing father yet."

Playing for the Lions means Thanksgiving Day will always involve football, and Amon-Ra signed a four-year, $120 million extension last year. So, he understands Thanksgiving means work first before the feast.
But, as he said, both major holidays can be tough, especially for those fathers who want to be around their children and families.
It’s an added nuisance for Amon-Ra that the Lions also have to travel for the game.
"Us traveling, it’s like, damn," he told his brother.
Amon-Ra is also dealing with a knee injury following the team’s tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday. He was officially listed as questionable for the game, though he's expected to play barring any pregame setback.
The Lions find themselves in a must-win situation in Week 17 if they want to make the playoffs. While Detroit needs to win their final two games, they also need the Green Bay Packers, their NFC North rivals, to lose their final two games to reach the playoffs.
The situation would’ve been different if the Lions hadn’t had Amon-Ra’s touchdown with 22 seconds left at Ford Field Sunday called back for offensive pass interference.
A few plays later, Amon-Ra was called for offensive pass interference on the final play of the game, when he was able to pitch it back to quarterback Jared Goff, who flew into the end zone for what Lions fans hoped was the game-winning score. Instead, the flag negated the touchdown and the game ended.

Kate Middleton played piano with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, in a sweet mother-daughter duet.
The surprise moment aired on her Christmas Eve "Together at Christmas" carol service as the opening segment.
In the clip, the Princess of Wales sat beside her daughter for a rendition of "Holm Sound" by Erland Cooper.
She shared the moment on the @PrinceandPrincessofWales social media page Wednesday.
"Love and connection through music. A special duet playing Holm Sound by @erlandcooper to open this year's 'Together at Christmas' Carol Service," the post was captioned. "Watch Royal Carols: Together at Christmas on ITVX now."
"At its heart, Christmas speaks of love taking full bloom in the simplest, most human ways," the mother of three is heard saying in the Instagram clip.

Princess Kate wore a dark blue gown, and Princess Charlotte wore a plaid skirt with a blue blouse.

In the clip, Princess Charlotte was joined by siblings Prince George and Prince Louis, adding Christmas decorations with their names handwritten on them to the tree located outside of Westminster Abbey.
Princess Charlotte, Prince George and Prince Louis all coordinated in dark blue and white accented looks.
Prince William wore a dark blue suit, and Princess Kate opted for a dark green calf-length coat.
She ended the clip by wishing everyone a "very happy Christmas."
The clip is part of the "Together at Christmas" special.
The footage included also shows guests arriving for the service Dec. 5 at Westminster Abbey.
Nearly 20 states sue HHS over declaration to restrict gender transition treatment for minors
A group of 19 Democrat-led states and Washington, D.C., filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over a declaration that aims to restrict gender transition treatment for minors.
The lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; its secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.; and its inspector general comes after the declaration issued last week described treatments such as puberty blockers, hormone therapy and gender surgeries as unsafe and ineffective for children experiencing gender dysphoria.
The declaration also warned doctors they could be excluded from federal health programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, if they provide these treatments to minors.
The move seeks to build on President Donald Trump's executive order in January calling on HHS to protect children from "chemical and surgical mutilation."
"We are taking six decisive actions guided by gold standard science and the week one executive order from President Trump to protect children from chemical and surgical mutilation," Kennedy said during a press conference last week.
HHS has also proposed new rules designed to further block gender transition treatment for minors, although the lawsuit does not address the rules, which have yet to be finalized.
The states' lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Eugene, Oregon, argues that the declaration is inaccurate and unlawful and urges the court to prevent it from being enforced.
"Secretary Kennedy cannot unilaterally change medical standards by posting a document online, and no one should lose access to medically necessary health care because their federal government tried to interfere in decisions that belong in doctors’ offices," New York Attorney General Letitia James, who led the lawsuit, said in a statement.
The lawsuit claims the declaration attempts to pressure providers into ending gender transition treatment for young people and circumvent legal requirements for policy changes. The complaint said federal law requires the public be given notice and an opportunity to comment before substantively amending health policy and that neither of these were done before the declaration was released.
The declaration based its conclusions on a peer-reviewed report that the department conducted earlier this year that called for more reliance on behavioral therapy rather than broad gender transition treatment for minors with gender dysphoria.
The report raised questions about standards for the treatment of transgender children issued by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and brought concerns that youths may be too young to give consent to life-changing treatments that could result in future infertility.
Major medical groups and physicians who treat transgender children have criticized the report as inaccurate.
HHS also announced last week two proposed federal rules — one to cut off federal Medicaid and Medicare funding from hospitals that offer gender transition treatment to children and another to block federal Medicaid money from being used for these procedures.

The proposals have not yet been made final and are not legally binding because they must go through a lengthy rulemaking process and public comment before they can be enforced.
Several major medical providers have already pulled back on gender transition treatment for youths since Trump returned to office, even those in Democrat-led states where the procedures are legal under state law.
Medicaid programs in just under half of states currently cover gender transition treatment. At least 27 states have adopted laws restricting or banning the treatment, and the Supreme Court’s decision this year upholding Tennessee’s ban likely means other state laws will remain in place.
Democrat attorneys general from California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, Washington state and Washington, D.C., as well as Pennsylvania's Democrat governor, joined James in the lawsuit.

Watch: Thieves drag ATM through Texas convenience store in Christmas Eve theft attempt
Thieves attempted to steal an ATM on Christmas Eve by dragging it through the front of a Texas convenience store with a stolen SUV and a metal cable, but the machine broke free as they fled, police said.
The White Settlement Police Department posted footage of two suspects towing an ATM through the front glass doors of a 7-Eleven in Fort Worth before driving away.
The failed heist happened just before 4 a.m. Wednesday and may be connected to a string of similar convenience store crimes reported across North Texas in recent weeks, police said.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects as they attempt to determine whether the incident is part of a broader crime pattern.
White Settlement police said in a statement that two men traveled to the store parking lot in the stolen SUV wearing dark-colored clothing with their faces covered.
One of the men smashed the front door with a metal object and attached a cable to the ATM that was already hooked to the vehicle, investigators said.
Officers found extensive damage to the storefront, with debris, shelving and merchandise scattered throughout the store and into the parking lot.

Police said it took two attempts for the thieves to get the ATM out of the store.
The ATM was dislodged from the vehicle as the suspects fled and was later recovered by police.
The black SUV had been stolen in Dallas, investigators added.
Police used license plate readers and city cameras throughout the city to try and locate it about a half-mile from the store.
Former NBA player Sebastian Telfair recounts jail stint alongside Sean 'Diddy' Combs
Sebastian Telfair, a 2004 NBA Draft first-round selection, has faced multiple legal issues over the years.
Telfair was released from prison this week after serving time for a probation violation related to his 2023 NBA health care fraud conviction. The former Phoenix Suns guard served his term in the same federal prison that houses disgraced music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.
Telfair told TMZ Combs is maintaining a positive outlook as he serves his time.

"Diddy's holding it down. He's doing what he gotta do. And where he's at, they're going to help him," Telfair told the outlet.

Earlier this year, a jury found Combs guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution. He was acquitted on more serious charges.
In October, a judge sentenced Combs to 50 months behind bars. He was subsequently transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to a federal prison in New Jersey known as Fort Dix, where Telfair also served his time.
Telfair also noted he "couldn’t imagine how Combs felt" considering the lifestyle he grew accustomed to after his rise to fame. However, the former pro basketball player said he believes this period of adjustment could prove beneficial for the Grammy Award winner.
In October 2021, Telfair was among 18 former NBA players charged with defrauding the league’s health care and welfare benefits plan in a scheme investigators said involved claiming fraudulent medical expenses.
Several years earlier, in April 2019, the former Portland Trail Blazers guard was convicted on one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The conviction stemmed from a January 2017 arrest.
The 40-year-old Telfair is now turning his attention to Ice Cube’s 3-on-3 basketball league, the Big3.
"No one knows this yet, but the contract is signed," he said. "I’m coming for the MVP."

Trump-backed candidate Asfura wins Honduras presidential election
Nasry Asfura has won the 2025 Honduras presidential election, delivering victory for the right-of-center National Party of Honduras (PNH) and shifting the political landscape of Central America.
The 40.3% to 39.5% result in favor of Asfura over Liberal Party candidate Salvador Nasralla arrived after the vote-counting process had been delayed for days by technical glitches and claims by other candidates of vote-rigging. Rixi Moncada, the candidate of the ruling LIBRE party, came in a distant third.
The results of the race were so tight and the ballot processing system was so chaotic, that about 15% of the tally sheets, which accounted for hundreds of thousands of ballots, had to be counted by hand to determine the winner.
Two electoral council members and one deputy approved the results despite disputes over the razor-thin difference in the vote. A third council member, Marlon Ocha, was not in a video declaring the winner.

"Honduras: I am ready to govern. I will not let you down," Asfura said on X after the results were confirmed.
The head of the Honduran Congress, though, rejected the results and described them as an "electoral coup."
"This is completely outside the law," Congress President Luis Redondo of the LIBRE party said on X. "It has no value."
Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated Asfura on X, saying the U.S. "looks forward to working with his administration to advance prosperity and security in our hemisphere."
Initially, preliminary results on Monday showed Asfura, 67, had won 41% of the ballot, inching him ahead of Nasralla, 72, who had around 39%.

On Tuesday, the website set up to share vote tallies with the public experienced technical problems and crashed, according to The Associated Press.
With the candidates only having 515 votes between them, a virtual tie and site crash saw President Trump share a post on Truth Social.
"Looks like Honduras is trying to change the results of their Presidential Election," he wrote. "If they do, there will be hell to pay!"
By Thursday, Asfura had 40.05%, about 8,000 votes ahead of Nasralla, who had 39.75%, according to Reuters, with the latter then calling for an investigation.
"I publicly denounce that today, at 3:24 a.m., the screen went dark and an algorithm, similar to the one used in 2013, changed the data," Nasralla wrote on social media, adding 1,081,000 votes for his party were transferred to Asfura, while 1,073,000 votes for Asfura's National Party were attributed to him.

Asfura, nicknamed "Tito," is a former mayor of Tegucigalpa and had entered the race with a reputation for leadership and focus on infrastructure, public order and efficiency.
His win ended a polarized campaign season, with one of the defining moments of the contest being Asfura’s endorsement by Trump.
"If he [Asfura] doesn’t win, the United States will not be throwing good money after bad," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform Nov. 28.
Before the start of voting Nov. 29, Trump also said he would pardon former President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who once led the same party as Asfura. Hernandez is serving a 45-year sentence for helping drug traffickers.
In the end, the election saw the defeat of centrist former vice president of Honduras, Nasralla and left-wing Moncada, 60, who served under President Xiomara Castro.
Moncada, a prominent lawyer, financier and former minister of national defense, focused on institutional reform and social equity.
Nasralla, a high-profile television personality turned politician, mobilized a base but fell short of converting his popularity into a winning coalition.
He was focusing on cleaning up Honduran corruption. The Honduran presidential race was also impacted by accusations of fraud.
In addition to electing a new president, Hondurans voted for a new Congress and hundreds of local positions.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump spoke with several children on Christmas Eve as Santa Claus made his rounds across the globe, praising "clean, beautiful coal" and referring to one child as a "high-IQ person."
The pair joined the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Santa Tracker hotline from Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, where they fielded calls from kids about what they hoped St. Nick would bring them for Christmas.
One child spoke to Trump about wanting a Kindle, the e-reader designed and marketed by Amazon.

"That's pretty good. You must be a high-IQ person. We need more high-IQ people in the country," he replied.
One 8-year-old North Carolina girl asked if Santa would be upset if she didn't leave him cookies.
"I think he won't get mad, but I think he'll be very disappointed," said Trump. "Santa tends to be a little on the cherubic side."
Trump asked one child in Kansas for a Christmas wish.
"Um, not coal," the child replied.

"Not coal. No, you don’t want coal. You mean clean, beautiful coal. I had to do that, I’m sorry," Trump said.

Trump has frequently referred to coal as "clean" and "beautiful" in an effort to boost its use.
During a call with a child in Oklahoma, he said he was fond of the state, which he won in the 2024 presidential election.
"Santa loves you. Santa loves Oklahoma like I do. You know, Oklahoma was very good to me in the election. So, I love Oklahoma. Don’t ever leave Oklahoma, OK?" he said.
During the same call, Trump talked about tracking Santa.
"We track Santa all over the world. ... We want to make sure that he's not infiltrated — that we're not infiltrating into our country a bad Santa," he said. "We found that Santa is Good!"
Late-night joyride ends in disaster as driver smashes into towering Christmas tree on camera
Video shows a late-night joyride spiraling out of control as a driver raced around a central square in southern Kazakhstan before crashing into a towering Christmas tree and knocking it over.
CCTV footage from the town of Saryagash shows the driver speeding into the largely empty square during the early morning hours and performing tight circular spins, commonly known as donuts, in a Russian-made Lada sedan.
As the driver attempted to complete a second consecutive spin, the vehicle swung wider than before and headed directly toward a 40-foot Christmas tree positioned in the center of the square.
The car continued forward and slammed into the decorated tree, sending it crashing to the ground as lights scattered across the pavement. The impact flattened the illuminated holiday display almost instantly.
The driver sped away, leaving the toppled tree lying flat in the square.
According to The Sun, witnesses said the vehicle’s tires screeched as the driver circled the square, narrowly missing street furniture and festive decorations in the moments leading up to the crash.

The Sun also reported that Saryagash District Police said in a statement they received a report around 3 a.m. that an unknown driver had crashed into the main Christmas tree installed in the central square and then fled.

"Officers carefully studied the recordings from the area using CCTV cameras," police said in the statement. "As a result, the identity of the offender was established."
Police later confirmed the driver was behind the wheel of a VAZ-2105 Lada.
Investigators tracked him down after reviewing the surveillance footage, and his vehicle was subsequently impounded, according to the report.

Authorities said the driver was issued a fine for dangerous driving. In an unusual outcome, police also ordered him to repair the damage he caused to the holiday display.
"The young driver repaired the damaged tree and promised not to commit similar offenses in the future," police said.
NBA draft pick joins Baylor for second half of season in unprecedented move
It’s common for players to announce they are heading to the pros from college — not the other way around.
But a recent report in basketball has fans baffled after Nigerian center James Nnaji, the 31st overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, has committed to play at Baylor.
The 7-foot center will be able to play the second half of the Bears’ season, according to On3 Sports, and will be granted four years of NCAA eligibility.

How is this possible for someone who not only declared for the NBA Draft but was taken in the 31st overall in 2023?
Well, Nnaji never signed an NBA contract. When he was drafted by the Detroit Pistons, Nnaji had his rights moved to the Charlotte Hornets. Then, in the three-team deal for Karl-Anthony Towns, his rights moved to the New York Knicks.

Nnaji never appeared in a regular-season NBA game and decided to go overseas to continue his pro career. He played for FC Barcelona in Liga ACB in Spain. They mutually parted ways in August.
Then, Nnaji returned to the Knicks to play in the Summer League in Las Vegas, where he averaged 3.2 points and 3.6 rebounds over five games.
With the Bears thin in the front court — Maikcol Perez and Justin Bodo Bodo are both dealing with injuries — Nnaji will come in and should play significant minutes for Scott Drew’s team at Baylor.
Nnaji was just 18 years old when he was drafted, and teams liked his measurables with the hopes of developing his talent in the league.
"Nnaji’s measurables in terms of his size and length are impressive, and he’s a big leaper who can finish above the rim, though he does present as something of a project for the Hornets," CBS Sports’ Kyle Boone wrote about Nnaji when he was taken in 2023.
Baylor is 9-2 to start the 2025-26 season.

Cowboys center Cooper Beebe accuses Chargers of making him look racist in controversial post
A Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman took exception to the Los Angeles Chargers’ social media team following a controversial post involving him.
Cooper Beebe, the Cowboys’ starting center, called out the Chargers after Sunday’s loss at AT&T Stadium for bleeping out a call he made on the line, which he believed made him look "racist" to football fans.
Beebe was pointing at Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley and making a call on the line, likely to help his teammates recognize who to block. But the Chargers’ social team, a creative bunch, took it too far for Beebe.

"Literally Said Hole R? That’s our call vs Abby front," Beebe said. "Imagine bleeping out what I said to make me seem racist. You guys are POS @chargers," Beebe quote tweeted the Chargers’ video.
The Chargers captioned their post "lol instant karma" after Henley asked Beebe if he called him a name. Then, Beebe was called for a false start, which Henley believed was instant karma, hence the caption.
Since Beebe’s post went viral, the post and the Chargers’ original video have been deleted from X.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Chargers for comment.
Tensions are high for every team this time of year, whether it’s a team like the Chargers in the middle of a playoff push or the Cowboys hoping to finish strong despite little chance at winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
With their win over the Cowboys and the Indianapolis Colts’ loss on Monday night to the San Francisco 49ers, the Chargers have clinched a playoff berth with a chance at winning the AFC West considering their Week 18 regular-season finale is against the Denver Broncos.
However, the Broncos could win the division if they win on Christmas Day against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Cowboys are eliminated after going 6-8-1 to date. They also play on Christmas Day against the Washington Commanders, and quarterback Dak Prescott and company hope to finish the season strong.
Beebe is in his second year with the Cowboys as their full-time center. He was drafted in the third round (73rd overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Kansas State.
