Jay-Z's innocent comment to designer sparked infamous elevator clash with Beyoncé's sister
The infamous elevator fight between Jay-Z and Solange Knowles, the younger sister of his wife Beyoncé, is back in the spotlight again as a fashion designer exposed the reason for the highly-publicized clash.
In May 2014, a surveillance video leaked from the Standard Hotel in New York in which Solange was seen physically attacking Jay-Z in an elevator with Beyoncé standing beside them. The video was published by TMZ and numerous rumors swirled about why Solange had violently confronted her brother-in-law after the trio attended the 2014 Met Gala.
During a new interview with the Daily Mail, Oscar G. Lopez claimed that Solange became enraged after witnessing an interaction between Jay-Z and fashion designer Rachel Roy, who has been accused of having an affair with the rapper. Lopez, who created Roy's 2014 Met Gala gown, said that Solange was offended after Jay-Z praised the dress.

"I think that Jay complimented her about the gown and Beyoncé's sister felt that it was not proper, so it was a kind of a drama there," Lopez said.
In the video, which did not have audio, Solange was seen kicking and punching Jay-Z as a bodyguard attempted to restrain her. Jay-Z was not seen retaliating against Solange but instead raised his arms to block her blows and backed away from her into the wall of the elevator.
Meanwhile, Beyonce stood still in the corner of the elevator and did not intervene.
Within hours of the video's release, the incident made international headlines and dominated social media.
Lopez told the Daily Mail that the widespread coverage of the incident helped boost his business. He explained that Roy was "late" to the event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and missed being photographed on the red carpet in the gown that he made for her.
However, Lopez recalled that "the dress was all over the news" following the scandal.
"Any press is good press," he said. "It's good that people talk about you."
"Sometimes you benefit from a scandal, not even being part of it in a very direct way," Lopez continued. "Let's just call it a collateral damage. It was meant to be."
He went to tell the Daily Mail that he and Roy laughed about the speculation that she was having an affair with Jay-Z. Lopez said that they thought the rumors were "so silly" due to Roy's previous marriage to Jay Z's former friend and Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash.

Roy and Dash were married from 2004 to 2009. The two met while she was working at Rocawear, the clothing brand created by Jay-Z and Dash. Roy began her career as an intern at the company before rising through the ranks to become Creative Director for Rocawear women’s line.
Immediately after the elevator incident on May 5, 2014, Beyoncé and Solange left the hotel together in one vehicle while Jay-Z departed separately. A week later, TMZ published the surveillance video and the Standard Hotel announced that they had launched an investigation into the leak.
On May 14, the hotel confirmed that an employee had been fired for leaking the video.
A day later, Jay-Z, Beyonce and Solange broke their silence in a joint statement to the Associated Press.
"There has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident," the But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it," they wrote. "Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."
"The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false," the statement continued. "At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."
In 2017, Jay-Z addressed the incident with Solange during an appearance on the "Rap Radar" podcast.
"We had one disagreement ever. Before and after we’ve been cool," he said. "She’s like my sister. I will protect her. That’s my sister, not my sister-in-law. My sister. Period."
The "Empire State of Mind" singer noted that siblings fight.
"I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life," Jay Z said. "It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space. But it ain’t nothing."

Meanwhile, Roy poured fuel on the speculation of an affair between herself and Jay-Z after Beyonce alluded that the rapper had been unfaithful in her album "Lemonade," which was released in April 2016.
The album featured the song "Sorry" which included the lyrics, "He only want me when I’m not there. He better call Becky with the good hair.’’
Roy later posted a photo of herself on Instagram, writing, "Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens."
After an outpouring of online backlash from Beyonce's fans, Roy deleted the post and made her Instagram account private.
She later wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind."
Roy directly denied that she was the woman behind the infamous lyric in an interview with People magazine.

"I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest. My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that," Roy told People. "There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors."
In his 2017 album "4:44," Jay Z admitted to cheating on Beyoncé and expressed his remorse. He also referenced his alleged mistress "Becky" in his song "Family Feud," which featured the lyrics, "Let me alone Becky."

On the same album, he also referred to the elevator incident in his song "Kill JAY-Z."

In an interview with David Letterman in 2018 for his Netflix show, "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction," Jay-Z explained how he and Beyoncé had overcome their marital issues including his infidelity.

Toddler among 21 victims in pepper spray, robbery attack at London airport
Police arrested a 31-year-old man Sunday at a London airport following a robbery in which 21 people — including a 3-year-old child — were pepper-sprayed and required medical treatment, officials said.
The morning incident happened at Heathrow Airport’s parking garage when a group of four men stole a woman’s suitcase in an elevator and sprayed an irritant at her, the Metropolitan Police said.
"A woman was robbed of her suitcase by a group of four men, who sprayed a substance believed to be pepper spray in her direction," Commander Peter Stevens said in a statement, adding that passengers in the elevator and surrounding area were also affected.
Police said the suspects then fled the elevator following the incident. They appeared to be three young men dressed in all black with their heads covered, The Associated Press (AP) reported, citing a witness.
Video captured a swarm of officers rushing to the scene of the assault, visibly carrying large firearms as they navigated the multi-story parking garage.
Authorities said the victim and the suspects knew each other, and investigators are not treating the case as a terrorism-related incident.
"At this stage, we believe the incident involved a group of people known to each other, with an argument escalating and resulting in a number of people being injured," Stevens said.

"We are not treating this incident as terrorism," he added. "I understand the public’s concerns and would like to thank those in the area for their cooperation this morning."

Ambulance crews treated victims at the scene and transported five to the hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to the authorities.
The incident led to hours of travel delays for passengers arriving at and departing from the airport, the AP reported, but operations have since returned to normal, according to the airport in a post on X.

FBI’s renewed push in DC pipe bomb case shows how fresh eyes can change a stalled investigation
Federal agents searching the Virginia home of Brian Cole Jr., accused of planting pipe bombs in Washington on Jan. 5, 2021, carried out a step-by-step operation this week that indicated investigators have re-energized a case that had seen little movement for years.
Cole was arrested in Woodbridge, Virginia, last week after federal investigators identified him as the suspect accused of planting the pipe bombs on Jan. 5, 2021, near the Capitol complex, the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC). His arrest marked the first major break in a case that had been largely dormant for years.
Retired FBI special agent Jason Pack, who previously helped lead Evidence Response Teams, told Fox News Digital the search followed the standard sequence used in explosive investigations, beginning with hazard clearing before evidence work. He said the careful pace shows investigators treating the case as if it had just happened.
The operation began with the standard safety sweep used in federal explosives investigations.

"Federal agents are following a deliberate and familiar sequence as the search of the Woodbridge residence continues," Pack said. "The presence of explosive ordnance disposal technicians, bomb techs and specialized K-9 teams indicates that the first priority is safety."
He explained that investigators must first clear the property of possible explosive hazards to protect personnel and preserve the scene before they can begin collecting evidence.
One of the clearest indications of the work underway came from the metal paint cans agents carried out of the home.

Pack said metal paint cans are a preferred method for collecting and transporting suspected explosive material because they limit contamination and protect volatile samples. The cans also allow forensic laboratories to analyze residues, components and chemical signatures that might connect a device to a specific individual or technique.
Once the scene is declared safe, evidence teams can move inside the home.
FBI Evidence Response Team members, guided by a federal search warrant and its attachments, typically handle the next phase of the search and use those documents to determine what they are authorized to seize.
Those categories include explosive components or precursor chemicals; tools or materials used to construct destructive devices; electronic devices such as phones, hard drives and laptops; records, notes or digital communications that could show planning, motive or knowledge; and items that confirm identity, occupancy or control of the residence.
In this investigation, agents are looking for evidence that establishes intent, capability and any links to the explosive devices planted on Jan. 5, 2021.
Once the evidence is collected, it moves into the long analytical phase of the investigation.

Any electronics seized will undergo digital forensics to recover communications, searches or location data that may reveal planning or coordination. Laboratories will also examine residues or components to determine whether they match the devices used at the Capitol complex, the RNC or the DNC.
Pack said the search in Woodbridge shows the FBI is treating the investigation as if it had just begun, which he said can "change the entire trajectory" of the case.
"I have been the fresh set of eyes on cold cases, and I worked them as if the crime happened that morning," he said. "The initial investigators often do excellent work. A new perspective simply asks different questions and sometimes spots the detail that finally brings the guilty to justice."

Pack said the U.S. Attorney’s Office is responsible for obtaining the warrants and court orders that move an investigation from suspicion to proof.
"When the immediate danger has passed, older cases often end up folded into the stack of files handled by overworked Assistant United States Attorneys who are already juggling emergencies of their own," he said. "That can slow down warrants and subpoenas, not because anyone is dragging their feet, but because they are drowning in urgent matters."

The same pressures hit FBI agents, Pack said, as new threats emerge each day and older cases get pushed back while "investigators run to the sound of guns."
"There are only 12,000 FBI agents in the world, and that small group is responsible for handling every threat that comes our way," Pack said. "When leadership pours fresh resources back into a case, the whole machine turns forward again. Sunlight finds what shadows hide, and a second look often makes all the difference."
Cole had his first court appearance Friday after being arrested the day before and charged with transporting an explosive device in interstate commerce and with maliciously attempting to destroy property using explosive materials.
He has been speaking with investigators and reportedly admitted to planting the devices and expressing doubts about the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, a source close to the investigation told Fox News.
Marine who was killed in vehicle training accident at California base identified
The Marine Corps revealed Friday that the Marine who died Wednesday in a Southern California training accident was 21-year-old Tanner F. Rubio.
Rubio, a private first class, was killed in a "tactical vehicle mishap" in the afternoon at Camp Pendleton in San Diego County, according to officials. He served with the I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF), the largest Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) in the Corps.
Rubio was a native of Dixon, California, who joined the Marine Corps in January 2025, officials said. He trained for frontline combat as an infantry rifleman and served in a battalion within the 1st Marine Regiment of the 1st Marine Division, one of the Marine Corps’ main combat units.
"The tragic loss of Pfc. Rubio is one felt across the 1st Marine Division," Maj. Gen. Thomas Savage, commanding general of the 1st Marine Division, said in a statement. "He will be sorely missed, but his honorable service to his country will not be forgotten. All of us at the Blue Diamond will keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers."

His death was not related to Steel Knight, an annual training exercise that began Monday on the base, officials said.
State Sen. Catherine Blakespear, whose district includes Camp Pendleton, previously described the accident as "tremendously upsetting" and emphasized the sacrifices Marines make to protect the nation.

"Our Marines put themselves in harm’s way every day even on home soil during routine training so that our nation remains safe. Representing Camp Pendleton and these service members is a true honor and hearing of this is tremendously upsetting."
"I will be closely monitoring the investigation into this accident. In this difficult moment, I extend my condolences to all who are mourning within the Camp Pendleton community."

Omar compares Stephen Miller's migrant rhetoric to Nazi descriptions of Jewish people
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., compared White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller's remarks about migrants to the way Nazis described Jewish people during an interview on Sunday.
CBS host Margaret Brennan asked Omar to respond to a statement Miller made about migrants. He wrote on social media, "No magic transformation occurs when failed states cross borders. At scale, migrants and their descendants recreate the conditions, and terrors, of their broken homelands."
Omar said it was "White supremacist rhetoric" before comparing it to Nazis describing Jewish people.
"It reminds me of the way the Nazis described Jewish people in Germany. And you know, as we know, there have been many immigrants who have tried to come to the United States who have turned back, you know, one of them being Jewish immigrants. We know the way that people were described who were coming from Ireland, Irish immigrants," Omar said.
"We know the way in which people were described back then, when there were Italian immigrants. And to me, you know, we're, we're, yes, of course, ethnically Somali, we are in this country as Americans, we are citizens, we are a productive part of this nation, and we will continue to be," she added.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
President Donald Trump has disparaged the Somali community in Minnesota due to the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme in the state. As of November 2025, more than 75 individuals have been charged in connection with the scheme, according to federal prosecutors.
Some of the individuals are part of Minnesota's Somali diaspora, which is the largest in the U.S., though the ringleader of the scheme is not.

Omar responded to Trump's statements about the Somali community during the interview on Sunday.
"It's disgusting. It's completely disgusting. These are Americans that he is calling garbage. And we feel like there is an unhealthy obsession that he has on the Somali community, and an unhealthy and creepy obsession that he has with me. I think it is also really important for us to remember that this kind of hateful rhetoric and this level of dehumanizing can lead to dangerous actions by people who listen to the president," she said.

Omar was pressed to explain how the fraud got so out of hand in Minnesota during a recent interview on CNN.
"I think what happened, um, is that, you know, when you have these, kind of new programs that are, um, designed to help people, you're oftentimes relying on third parties to be able to facilitate. And I just think that a lot of the COVID programs that were set up — they were set up so quickly that a lot of the guardrails did not get created," Omar said.

The royal family has had quite an uphill battle the past couple of years.
In February 2024, Buckingham Palace announced that William's father, King Charles III, had been diagnosed with a form of cancer and was undergoing treatment. A "separate issue of concern" was identified during the monarch's "benign prostate enlargement" procedure at the London Clinic. The king continues to undergo treatments.
Middleton announced she had been diagnosed with cancer in March 2024, two months after she underwent planned abdominal surgery. She revealed her cancer was in remission in January.
During an episode of Apple TV+’s "The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy," Prince William got candid about the cancer diagnoses that rocked his family.
"We’ve been very lucky. We hadn’t had many illnesses in the family for a very long time. My grandparents lived until they were in the high nineties," Prince William said in the clip, referring to the late Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth.
"They were the vision of fitness, and stoicism, and resilience, if you like. So we’ve been very lucky as a family," he continued. "But I think, when you suddenly realize that the rug, if you were, the metaphorical rug, can be pulled from under your feet quite quick at any point."
"You maybe think to yourself, 'It won’t happen to us, we’ll be OK.' Because I think everyone has a positive outlook, you’ve got to be positive," he added. "But when it does happen to you, then it takes you into some pretty not-great places."
More recently, King Charles announced that Prince Andrew would be stripped of the "Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew" due to the allegations made against him in connection with Jeffrey Epstein.
He is now known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and is no longer a prince.

According to royal experts, Charles remains deeply troubled by how ex-Prince Andrew’s controversies continue to cast a painful cloud over both his family and the monarchy he leads.
"During Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph Parade, King Charles was particularly emotional, shedding a tear while standing in silence," British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital.
"He was withered and withdrawn, with one able to observe the toll the Andrew nightmare had taken on him. He appeared to be somewhat resolute. He is also known to be wanting to double down on duty, rather than anything verging on a shallow or frivolous celebration."
"While Andrew, of course, will always remain his brother, now that he’s a private citizen, the king is likely to further publicly distance himself," Fordwich shared. "We won’t be seeing Andrew at any birthday festivities. He’s actually made it worse for himself due to his pride and pervasively privileged attitude, thinking he’s still entitled."

Expert reveals 'likely' reason behind Chernobyl’s mysterious blue dogs after viral photos
There may be a surprising reason behind the mysterious blue dogs that were recently spotted roaming the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Photos taken earlier this year showed several dogs with bright blue fur wandering the site of the 1986 nuclear disaster in Ukraine, fueling widespread speculation online, including theories of radiation exposure and mutations.
However, a scientific advisor for the organization that cares for the strays says those ideas could not "be further from the truth."
"The blue dye likely came from a tipped over port-a-potty where the dogs were rolling around in the poop, as dogs are prone to do," Timothy Mousseau of the University of South Carolina was quoted saying on the Dogs of Chernobyl Facebook account.

Mousseau noted this behavior is similar to how some dogs are drawn to cat litter boxes.
"The blue coloration was simply a sign of the dog's unsanitary behavior!" Mousseau said. "As any dog owner knows, most dogs will eat just about anything, including feces!"
Despite the social media speculation, the dogs' blue fur does "not reflect any kind of mutation or evolutionary adaptation to radiation," he added.
Dogs of Chernobyl, the program that cares for the roughly 700 dogs in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and is affiliated with the nonprofit Clean Futures Fund (CFF), first shared images of the blue-tinted dogs in October.
At the time, the group had been unable to capture the animals to determine the source of their unusual coloring.
"We are on the ground catching dogs for sterilization, and we came across three dogs that were completely blue," Dogs of Chernobyl posted to Instagram. "We are not sure exactly what is going [on]. … We do not know the reason, and we are attempting to catch them so we can find out what is happening."

Many dogs were left behind following the Chernobyl nuclear plant explosion, when more than 120,000 evacuees were told to leave immediately, according to CFF.
"The evacuees were not allowed to bring anything that they could not carry, and their pets had to be left behind," the CFF website notes. "They were told they would return in 3 days, but they were never allowed to return. Their pets became abandoned."
Timothy Mousseau did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
Marjorie Taylor Greene spars with '60 Minutes' host over 'accusatory' questions
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., briefly sparred with "60 Minutes" host Lesley Stahl over what she claimed was "accusatory" behavior from the journalist.
Greene gave her first sit-down interview with Stahl since announcing her resignation from Congress last month. During the segment, Stahl and Greene spoke about the Georgia lawmaker's apology for taking part in "toxic politics."
"I would like to say humbly, I‘m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics," Greene told CNN in November. "It’s very bad for our country, and it’s been something I’ve thought about a lot, especially since Charlie Kirk was assassinated, is that we, I’m only responsible for myself and my own words and actions, and I am committed, and I’ve been working on this a lot lately to put down the knives in politics."

"But you contributed to that," Stahl asked Greene Sunday. "You. You, you were out there pounding, insulting people."

"I know you're accusing me, but I'm smiling," Stahl responded.
"You're accusing me," Greene said. "But we don't have to accuse one another."
The two continued to go back and forth, with Greene repeatedly insisting that Stahl should also acknowledge her own contribution to toxic politics.
"I don't insult people," Stahl said.

"You just, you do in the way you question," Greene said. "And you are, you're accusing me right now."

Greene shocked the political landscape last month when she revealed she would leave Congress Jan. 5. Many believe her abrupt exit was the result of her soured relationship with President Donald Trump.
