Knicks center Mitchell Robinson seems to be fired up about playing Game 3 in front of President Trump
There's no question that, to put it mildly, President Donald Trump tends to divide the room.
That will be the case when he rolls into Madison Square Garden on Monday for Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks.
However, there's at least one player who seems to be a little fired up about the prospect of playing in front of the commander in chief.

A TikTok started making the rounds, joking that Knicks center Mitchell Robinson will be playing extra hard with Trump in attendance.
It's a great video, but it turns out that is what Robinson — a 2018 second-round pick out of Western Kentucky who has spent his entire career with the Knicks — has planned.
He commented on the video and basically said it was on the money.
Man, flag emoji and everything.
He is fired up.
It seems like it would be hard not to be, whether you're a fan of the president or not.
You're already playing on the biggest stage the NBA has to offer (yes, it's still bigger than the in-season tournament) for one of the most popular franchises in the league in one of the most talked-about Finals matchups in years.
As if that isn't enough to garner some attention, let's add the President of the United States to the equation.
There's a correct response in this situation, and it's to be fired up like Robinson is.
What you don't want is a player who gets nervous with all of this attention or goes, "The president is here? Well, then I'm going to let him know how I feel about ICE," because you want players focused on the game and not scoring political brownie points.
As for how Trump will be received by the fans at MSG, well, that's anybody's guess.

'Jumanji' actor James Handy's girlfriend's son charged with murder after actor found stabbed to death
James Handy's girlfriend's son has been charged with murder, after the actor was found stabbed to death outside his home in Tarzana.
According to a press release from the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, Michael Gledhill, 44, is facing up to 26 years to life in prison if he is convicted as charged.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney, Nathan J. Hochman, issued the following statement: "This is not how anyone's life should end, stabbed in the chest and left dying in the front yard of a home. The victim, James Handy, deserved to live out his later years enjoying what he had worked so hard for and enjoying it with those he loved and cared about."
The statement continued, "Like all murder victims, his life mattered and the person who inexplicably and violently took it must be held accountable for his actions."

The press release stated that Gledhill was charged with one count of murder with a special allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon, a knife.

Handy, an actor known for various roles in films like "Jumanji" and "Top Gun: Maverick," was killed early Wednesday morning. According to police, a 911 caller stated: "I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin."
When officers arrived, they found Handy, 81, unconscious in the front yard suffering from a stab wound to the chest. Authorities said Handy was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to investigators, Gledhill flagged down officers as they arrived and told them he was the person they were looking for.
Police said Gledhill lived at the residence with his mother, who was Handy’s girlfriend.
Gledhill was arrested and booked into the Van Nuys Jail on a murder charge. Bail was set at $2 million.

Popular cruise line’s bikini crackdown could surprise passengers at island ports
Carnival Cruise Line is cracking down on bikini wearing at a popular South Pacific destination, reminding passengers that local dress code expectations may be stricter than what is typically allowed onboard.
Guests aboard Carnival Splendor received a notice ahead of the ship's stop in Lifou, an island in New Caledonia, advising travelers to follow local customs and dress conservatively while ashore, according to the blog Cruise Hive.
The reminder was issued before the ship's June 2 visit to the island as part of an eight-night sailing from Sydney.

The dress code applies not only to beaches, but also to public areas such as markets, churches and community gathering spaces.
The swimwear crackdown reflects guidance that Carnival already shares with guests on its website.
"We kindly ask guests to respect the local culture and rules in the ports we visit," Carnival states in its dress code guidelines.

The cruise line specifically identifies Lifou as a destination in which local customs call for more conservative attire.
"Some destinations, such as Lifou, which is a tribal island, are populated by proud indigenous people whose culture is based on respect, and in many cases are highly religious," Carnival states.
"The communities in these locations also request visitors to wear traditional one-piece or full-piece swimsuits and refrain from wearing bikini or monokini-type swimsuits [while] at the beach," the website says.
Carnival reportedly warned that failing to respect local customs could affect future visits to the island.

Guests were reminded that noncompliance could jeopardize the cruise line's ability to continue including Lifou on future itineraries, Cruise Hive said.
The dress code reminder comes as cruise lines continue emphasizing destination-specific rules that may differ from onboard policies.
While Carnival generally allows casual resort wear during the day, guests are expected to ensure their clothing is respectful to fellow travelers and appropriate for the setting, according to its website.

Carnival's swimwear policies have long been a topic of discussion among passengers online.
"Wear what you want," one Reddit user wrote.

Trump expands TrumpRx prescription drug discount program to more than 800 medications
President Donald Trump on Friday announced a major expansion of his administration's initiative aimed at helping Americans access discounted prescription medications.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said the government-backed website TrumpRx.gov has added 160 prescription drugs, bringing the total number of discounted medications available through the program to more than 800.
"I am pleased to announce that TrumpRx.gov is adding another 160 Prescription Drugs, at highly discounted prices, for a new total of over 800 of the most commonly-used Prescription Drugs," Trump wrote.
"TrumpRx.gov will now provide clear, transparent, and DISCOUNTED offerings for FOUR OUT OF FIVE of every prescription filled by Americans," he added.

Trump unveiled the initiative in February, arguing that Americans have long paid more for prescription drugs than consumers in many other countries.
The website was launched after the administration finalized agreements with 16 major pharmaceutical companies under so-called "most-favored-nation" pricing arrangements.
Under the agreements, participating drugmakers received tariff-related exemptions while agreeing to lower prices for certain medications and extend discounted pricing to eligible cash-paying consumers through TrumpRx, according to the administration.

TrumpRx.gov allows users to search for discounted medications, view estimated savings and generate coupons for participating prescriptions.

Trump said the initiative builds on efforts from his first term to reduce prescription drug costs.
"I was proud to make History during my First Term when we lowered Drug Prices, even if by a tiny percentage, because this amounted to a HUGE change compared to other presidents only raising Drug Prices, endlessly and significantly, every year," Trump wrote.
"Then, during my Second Term, I decided to go BIG with Most Favored Nations Pricing — That is to say, we pay no more or, ideally, less than any other Country for the same exact Drug," he continued. "Now we are cutting Prices, and cutting them by a LOT, sometimes by 400 or 500 or 600 Percent!"

Trump also claimed the program has generated significant savings for consumers.

The president further argued that tariffs played a key role in securing the pricing agreements.
"Of course, Most Favored Nations would not be possible without my use of TARIFFS, which are getting other Countries to 'pay up' instead of relying on American Patients getting ripped off, as they were for decades until I ordered an immediate 'stop' to this very unfair and, frankly, foolish situation," Trump wrote.
"This is all great news, and I have instructed my Administration to secure more Most Favored Nations Deals, more Partnerships, and Lower Prices for every American Patient," he added.

Trump green lights new DNI Pulte to 'start the process' on mass intelligence firings
President Donald Trump says he wants incoming Acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Bill Pulte to "start the process" of firing intelligence community officials, he told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Friday.
Trump on Tuesday tapped Pulte to take over for the current DNI Tulsi Gabbard, who resigned in May after her husband was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
Pulte, who will take over in the interim when Gabbard's resignation becomes official on June 30, has apparently been tasked with reducing the number of employees at the 18 intelligence agencies over which the DNI presides.
"I’d like to see it smaller. I think there are a lot of people in there that shouldn’t be there," Trump told the Wall Street Journal, referring to the intelligence community.

The selection of Pulte, who currently serves as Trump's Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, has reportedly irked a swath of lawmakers, including former Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., who publicly criticized the move.
"We don't need a weaponized DNI. We need professionals there," Thune said.
But Pulte's outsider status was explicitly what made Trump inclined to pick him the first place, he explained to the Wall Street Journal.

"You’re less shackled," he told the outlet. "It sort of gives you more power, you know, for a somewhat limited period of time."
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump assuaged concerns that Pulte would have difficulty being confirmed by the Senate if picked for the role on a permanent basis. He ensured the public that an active search for a permanent replacement was ongoing and that Pulte's interim status would benefit him.
"Frankly, it might be good for him to shake it up before people come," Trump said. "Because, if he reduced the size, in conjunction with me…and in conjunction with possibly the person coming in…he can do a lot of the hard work and we wouldn’t have to saddle somebody that goes in," Trump told the Wall Street Journal.

Pulte, who also chairs the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac government-sponsored entities (GSEs), has already affected legislative outcomes.
After six Senate Republicans joined with the Democrats to block a bill reauthorizing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Vice Chairman Mark Warner, D-Va., warned that Democrats would not vote for the reauthorization as long as Pulte was in charge of intelligence.
"I don't see how you get the necessary Democrat votes… that would get them to 60," Warner said.

Maya Hawke says mom Uma Thurman practiced 'witch-adjacent' remedies
Maya Hawke is shedding some light on how she was raised with Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke as parents.
On NPR's "Wild Card with Rachel Martin," Maya dove into "witch-adjacent" remedies her mom instilled in her as a child.
"My mother really taught me to love and respect nature... like herbal remedies to things," she began. "It's sort of like 'witch-adjacent.' It's not toil and trouble, but it's wickenary."
She went on to explain that one she still remembers from her childhood is a pineapple skin tea that her mom would have her drink if she had a cold. "Because the enzymes in the pineapple skin is good to get rid of a cold," she added.

Virginia gun sales spike ahead of July 1 assault weapons ban signed by Gov. Spanberger
Gun sales in Virginia have surged in recent months ahead of a July 1 ban on the sale of assault weapons, according to data from the FBI.
Democrat-sponsored bills that would ban the sale of semi-automatic rifles or pistols that have a magazine capacity of more than 15 rounds were introduced in the legislature in January and Gov. Abigail Spanberger signed it into law last month.
Since January, the number of background checks done for the purchase of a firearm has gone up exponentially, with 75,376 background checks in May alone, more than double the amount in May 2025, during which only 37,167 were done, according to FBI statistics.
The high so far this year was in March when 79,846 backgrounds checks were done compared to only 47,069 last year, and in April, 72,011 were done compared to 40,343 in 2025.
A total of 347,167 background checks were run through the end of May this year, which is on track to trounce the 521,283 done in all of last year.
"For the last, I’d say, three months, we’ve been running hard," James Sprouse, a manager at Ginger Mafia Tactical, told WDBJ-TV recently. "The second we get them in, they’re out the door."
Trey Boyd, co-owner of Tactical Operations Vault, said he's selling out of components for making AR-15-style rifles.
"Like this cabinet... this is where I generally keep my stripped lowers," he told WDBJ. "Usually every rack is completely full, front to back, and about every week, it’s completely wiped out."

Under the law, it will be a misdemeanor to buy, sell, transfer, or make an "assault firearm,"
State Sen. Saddam Salim, D-Dunn Loring, who introduced the bill earlier this year, told FairfaxNow that there are "so many assault weapons in circulation" and that his bill will "gradually" take them off the street but stop short of retroactively criminalizing possession of any of the slew of newly-categorized "assault weapons."
"Firearms designed to inflict maximum casualties do not belong on our streets," Spanberger said in a statement after she signed the law. "We are taking this step to protect families and support the law enforcement officers who work every day to keep our communities safe."
Former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra advances to California governor general election, AP projects
California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra advanced to the state's general election Friday night, according to an Associated Press race call.
The AP called the race for Becerra at 7:50 p.m. EDT, sending the former U.S. health secretary and ex-California attorney general into the November contest to succeed term-limited Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Becerra and Republican Steve Hilton appeared headed for a November showdown. AP vote totals showed Becerra with 26.7% of the vote and Hilton with 26.4%, while Democrat Tom Steyer finished third with 21.0%.
In a statement following the race call, Becerra touted the result as a victory for working Californians and said his campaign would carry its message into the fall election.

"The people of the great state of California, in the greatest nation on earth, have spoken — loudly and proudly," Becerra said. "We will not be bought. We will not be bullied. And we are never backing down. November, here we come."
Becerra's campaign also said the result makes him the first Latino candidate to advance from a California gubernatorial primary to a general election, calling it a historic milestone for the state.
If elected in November, Becerra would become California's first Latino governor since Romualdo Pacheco, who briefly served as governor in 1875.
In a post on X after the race was called, Becerra wrote, "More than ever, California needs our voices and our values. To the people and the voters of California, this is your state. Este es tu estado."
Becerra, a former California attorney general, served as Health and Human Services secretary in former President Joe Biden's administration before launching his gubernatorial campaign.
Hilton, a former Fox News host and conservative commentator backed by President Donald Trump, also advanced in the state's top-two primary system, setting up a high-profile general election contest in November.
Results have not yet been certified.
The history behind the U.S. competition with China
President Richard Nixon paved the way for a new relationship with China in the 1970s, but it came at a time as Beijing’s influence was growing globally.
"I think China's rise is inevitable. It's not rising. It's already risen. But the question is how China would behave," said former People’s Liberation Army Senior Colonel Zhou Bo.
Zhou is now a Senior Fellow at the Center for International Security and Strategy at Tsinghua University. He began his service with the PLA in 1979, a time when China’s military was experiencing rapid changes.
"I think the United States military is definitely the strongest in the world," Zhou said. "When China celebrates its centenary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, that is the goal for us to become world-class military by 2049. That means we believe we can only catch up with the United States militarily by that time."
Throughout Chairman Mao Zedong’s leadership, China’s military grew in troop size to as many as 6.5 million. As Deng Xiaoping became China’s paramount leader, he put an emphasis on quality over quantity and began reducing troop numbers while pushing to advance technology.
Over the next several decades, China would build up its naval forces, nuclear warhead stockpile and missile arsenal to rival the U.S.

"I would say between the two countries there is an element of competition," said Zhou. "I believe even in the military field, China's strength is growing. And is closing with that of the United States."
The military threat has paved the way for the new space race and U.S. questions over the close relationship between China’s space program and its military.
"I think the Chinese position is very easy to understand. We have so many troubles on Earth, and why should we even have weapons in the space to strike on our own homeland? It sounds so, so silly, right?" Zhou said. "So far, no country has claimed that they have placed weapons in space. But I think it is not a secret that this is another domain for space superiority."
In 2007 the PLA destroyed a defunct weather satellite in low Earth orbit using a ground-based anti-satellite missile.
"We definitely have this kind of capability, called ASAT capability, of launching missiles to target on the satellites," Zhou said. "In space, the question is, it's very difficult to say what is a weapon and what is not."
The Defense Intelligence Agency determined the PLA may have ASAT capability against even higher orbits and are working to develop a range of counterspace capabilities.
"We're not talking about strategic rivalry anymore, we talk about strategic stability and China and the U.S. should achieve strategic stability not only for the benefit of both countries but for the world," said Henry Wang, founder and president of the Center for China and Globalization.
When it comes to technology, President Donald Trump is pushing to keep the U.S. ahead of China.
"We're leading China," President Trump said on Special Report during his trip to Beijing. "We're leading China by a lot."
This week President Trump signed an executive order on Artificial Intelligence that could allow the federal government to review advanced systems before they are publicly released. He had postponed a similar policy less than two weeks earlier over concerns it would hurt U.S. firms in the A.I. race with China.
"The U.S. has a system that really works well in the U.S., but China has a system that works well in China, but doesn't mean the two systems cannot parallel develop," Wang said.
China sees its efforts to track and monitor citizens as a benefit to training A.I. models.
"You have 1.4 billion people, 1.4 billion smartphone users. And also, a large application scene. So, I think in terms of data generating, China probably is the richest," Wang said. "We do have some advantages. But of course, the U.S. has also a lot of innovation, several of the largest A.I. companies are based in the U.S."
Experts inside China also believe the U.S. should work with other countries on regulating A.I. development.
"That's the uncharted territory and right now we don't have anything to regulate," Wang said.
Zhou agrees, saying the U.S. and China need to find consensus at the top level. Voters in the U.S. are split on the issue. According to a recent Fox News Poll, 51% of registered voters preferred coordination with other countries, while 49% wanted the U.S. to act independently.
"It’s a little hard to say, ‘oh gee, let's put on – we’re competing with each other and we're gonna put guard rails.’ It really doesn't work that way too much," President Trump said on Special Report in Beijing. "But A.I., if you look at medicine, some of the things that are coming up with medicine, some of cures they're coming up with that people would have never gotten there. It's gonna be mostly a good thing."
Spencer Pratt fires back at Jimmy Kimmel's mockery by resurfacing host's blackface controversy
Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel mocked Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt on Wednesday night’s show, and the former reality TV star responded by bringing up one of Kimmel’s most embarrassing controversies.
Pratt is one of the contenders attempting to replace incumbent Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. Pratt, 42, has been a vocal champion for LA residents since losing his home during the deadly 2025 Palisades wildfire. He launched his mayoral campaign in January with a focus on ousting Bass due to her alleged mishandling of the LA fires.
"It could take a while for Democrats here in Los Angeles to figure out which of their friends secretly voted for Spencer Pratt," Kimmel quipped, riffing on California taking a long time to tally votes in recent elections. "Barring a late ballot buzzer-beater, it appears Mayor Karen Bass will advance to a runoff against the former reality show villain."
"Sixty percent of the vote has been counted. If that holds, it means in November Los Angelenos are going to have to choose between a woman named Karen and a man who is one," he said, referencing the "Karen" slur for a demanding, middle-class White woman.
"Spencer Pratt should not be a top-two finalist for mayor. He should be DJing the worst New Year’s Eve party in Reno right now," Kimmel said. "He’s unlikely to win. In fact, he’s already filming a reality show about his run for mayor, so he definitely has his priorities in order."
In response, Pratt replied by sharing an image of Kimmel’s now-infamous moment when the talk show host wore blackface during "The Man Show" in the early 2000s, most notably while impersonating former NBA star Karl Malone.
Kimmel has apologized for this skit in recent years, saying he intended for it to be just another celebrity impression.
"We hired makeup artists to make me look as much like Karl Malone as possible. I never considered that this might be seen as anything other than an imitation of a fellow human being, one that had no more to do with Karl’s skin color than it did his bulging muscles and bald head," he said in a past statement to Fox News.
