Momma bear teaches her cub the fine art of ripping open a truck bed cover in a parking lot
If you thought a truck bed cover was going to protect your belongings and/or food from bears, think again. They're not likely to pop open your tailgate using the handle to snoop around.
But, as you can see in the video below, bears can rip the bed cover off with ease. Not only that, hopping up on top of a truck bed cover in a parking lot and ripping it open is a teachable moment they can pass along to their cubs.

You can't see exactly what momma bear is after, but her cub is definitely taking notes as it figures out how to get onto the bed cover to join her.
It's safe to assume the bear isn't interested in camping gear or tools.
She in all likelihood is sniffing out food the truck owner mistakenly thought would be protected in the bed of the truck by the cover.

Perhaps a picnic basket? Whatever it was the bears caught the scent of, the cover was no match for these two.

The Instagram account that shared the viral video recognized that and shared the one rule you need to remember if you encounter a mother bear and her cubs, never get between them.
Also, if you encounter them:
• Give them plenty of space and slowly back away.
• Never approach the cubs — even for a photo.
• Keep dogs leashed and under control.
• Don’t climb a tree; black bears and cubs can climb extremely well.
• If the bear changes behavior because of you, you’re already too close.
• Carry bear spray where bears are present — and keep it accessible, not buried in your backpack.
Moms for Liberty co-founder warns parents about Ms Rachel’s political activism, ‘Not Mr Rogers’
Parents may think they are turning on Ms. Rachel for songs, speech lessons and early learning, but the co-founder of parental rights organization Moms for Liberty says they are increasingly exposing their toddlers to political activism.
"She’s using her leadership role for political activism," Tina Descovich, the co-founder of Moms for Liberty, told Fox News Digital.
Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, has more than 21 million YouTube followers and millions more across Instagram and TikTok. She has become increasingly outspoken on political issues, including the Israel-Gaza war, immigration detention and LGBTQ rights.

Descovich said parents turn to Ms. Rachel and expect educational programming that will help their children learn to speak, read and prepare for school.

"She reaches 21 million viewers a year on YouTube alone, and then her social media channels have, like Instagram, I think has five million, TikTok, 10 million, and she seems to think she can divide her personal views from her influence over toddlers, but parents are tuning in to her messaging because they trust her with their toddlers, and I think her shows should all start with a warning label that says, ‘Warning, this woman has been nominated to be the antisemite of the Year in the United States,’ and they should know that before they put her in front of their toddlers," Descovich said.
Instead, she said, parents may now encounter political messaging involving gender identity, immigration and the Israel-Gaza conflict.

"Parents turn to her to teach their children potentially to be kind and be a good citizen and love your neighbor," Descovich said. "It would be great if she would teach kids the beginnings of learning to read and concepts so that they can be ready for kindergarten, but infiltrating gender ideology with children as young as two and three and four, that's not something parents are expecting or want to put in front of their kids at such a young age."
In June, Ms. Rachel visited an immigration detention facility in Newark, N.J., called Delaney Hall to be with families she said had been "terrorized" by immigration enforcement.

In one post about the visit, she wrote, "I’m still processing being outside Delaney Hall Immigration Detention Center in NJ yesterday. I can’t say enough about how this cruelty is harming and traumatizing precious children who should get to just be kids. I know if you came and played cars and drew with chalk with them and laughed and sang and saw their tears you wouldn’t want what is happening to happen."
A graphic shared on her Instagram account from the account, @readlikearockstarteaching, read, "Your toddler notices race. And talking about it isn’t what teaches them racism."
In her caption, Ms. Rachel wrote, "Brilliant info from @readlikearockstarteaching - please follow!"
A Dec. 4 post from Ms. Rachel read, "Just so you know, you are welcome in Ms Rachel’s classroom & I love you. People who are trans, gay, nonbinary, people who are Somali, people who are any religion – Muslim, Jewish, Christian or not religious, people who use food stamps, Democrats, Republicans, people who are undocumented, people who hate me."
Descovich said that parents should be clearly informed when a children’s entertainer uses a trusted toddler-focused platform to promote political views.
"What's most important here is that parents are informed on Ms. Rachel's political ideologies because they are starting to seep into all of the work she's doing with their children," Descovich said. "So, parents need to be informed, they ultimately get to choose and direct the upbringing of their children, but they absolutely should not be manipulated or, you know, sideswiped by thinking they're putting their child in front of Mr. Rogers when they're really getting a political radical like Ms. Rachel."

Bucs provide Baker Mayfield injury update as team set to play undrafted rookie at quarterback
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers can breathe a little easier on Monday.
Baker Mayfield is only expected to miss a "minimum" of three weeks after he dislocated his right thumb in the Buccaneers’ loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, head coach Todd Bowles said. Mayfield was writhing in pain on the ground after suffering the injury.

"We’ll keep him on (the active roster) right now but we’re not sure," Bowles said. "It could be, possibly, sooner. We’ll know how it goes how it’s gonna go."
Mayfield suffered the injury throwing the ball down the field as he was rolling to his right. His hand came down on Vikings linebacker Blake Cashman. The ball was intercepted and Mayfield hit the ground with the broadcast picking up his frightful screams.
An MRI didn’t reveal any ligament damage or fracture.

Mayfield agreed to a contract extension before the start of the season. The deal is worth $165 million over three years. He hadn’t missed a game before he joined the Buccaneers following stints with the Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns.
Tampa Bay’s loss to Minnesota dropped the team to 0-3. It’s the team’s worst start since 2014.
Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels will likely be thrust into the starting quarterback role. He was 0-for-3 with an interception when he came in for Mayfield at the end of the game.
Daniels played his collegiate career at Kansas. Last year with the Jayhawks, he had 2,531 passing yards and 22 passing touchdowns to go along with 404 yards on the ground and four rushing touchdowns.
"He's going to be like every other rookie, but he's played well in the preseason. He's very bright," Bowles said of the rookie. "He's not going to be out there by himself. There'll be 22 other guys out there helping him out. So, you know, we just expect him to do his job and play at a high level as he expects from himself."

Protesters crashed a large pro-data center party in Washington, D.C., making obscene guestures attendees and shouting about the industry's water use as President Donald Trump pushes to accelerate America's artificial intelligence and data center boom.
"Thank you for using all of our water!" and "You’re killing the world," the protester shouted as a woman interrupted the party, directing middle fingers at the crowd while chanting against the data center industry.
The "Data After Dark" party was hosted by three self-proclaimed data center "fanboys," bringing together more than 600 people to show support for data center infrastructure.

Party co-host and Young Voices CEO Casey Givens told Fox News Digital that one protester initially approached him asking to give a toast in support of data centers, but after he refused, she jumped onstage and attempted to grab the microphone from co-host Jonas Du.
After the protester was removed by security, the crowd responded by chanting, "USA, USA, USA."
Data centers power artificial intelligence by housing thousands of high-performance computers that store, process and analyze data, enabling AI systems to be trained and operate.
"I organized the party along with my co-hosts because the three of us were dismayed by how one side was dominating the data center conversation with hysteria instead of reason," said Givens.
"We wanted to push back by throwing a celebration of technology and benefits of data centers — locally in terms of tax revenue and economic development, and nationally in terms of innovation and the fight against China," Givens added.
The party featured themed cocktails such as "Loudoun County Iced Tea," named after the Northern Virginia county that handles more than 70% of global internet traffic across roughly 250 data centers, according to the county's website.

Trump boasted about American AI supremacy over China during an address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York Tuesday, using his newly-minted term for the technology, "superintelligence."
"Every major new technology brings challenges, and superintelligence is no exception," said Trump. "Whoever wins superintelligence wins. That's the group that wins. And we're leading now over China by a lot and everyone else. And we're going to keep it that way."
'Wizards of Waverly Place' star David Henrie says his faith cost him agents, money and friends in Hollywood
David Henrie, best known for his role in "Wizards of Waverly Place," revealed during a September podcast interview that he lost friends and jobs after committing to his faith.
During an appearance on the "Bryce Crawford Podcast," Henrie was asked what his faith cost him in Hollywood.
"It was rough, lost my agents," he said. "I walked away from a lot. I turned down a lot of roles. I was like I'm just not going to do something that I think will disrespect my belief now or disrespect our Lord. I'm just not going to do it. I'm not going to go near it. And it cost me a lot. It cost a lot. I lost a lot of money. Friends, a girlfriend at the time. I kind of was stripped of everyone, everyone that I would call a friend."
However, Henrie added that he made new friends that challenged him, which eventually led to him meeting his wife.
"I found new friends," he said. "I found guys I respected, guys I loved, that were building me up in Christ. You know, I think that friendship is like an elevator. It brings you up or it brings you down. So, I made new friends and I made friends that elevated me and that challenged me, gave me great books to read and helped form me in my faith and led to meeting my wife, my best friend now."
Henrie said it had been a "great journey" and that some of the people he lost had come back into the picture.
"Some of those people who left have now come back into the picture," he said. "They've gotten older. They've changed the way that they think. And I get texts from people like, 'Hey, just want you to know I went to church this Sunday.' And I was like, 'Oh, no way.' I didn't, would have never thought this person would, that would happen. And yeah, it's a marathon. It's not a race."
Henrie told Fox News Digital in January that the industry was now much more accepting of faith.

"Now people are much more accepting about people of faith," Henrie, who is a devout Catholic, told Fox News Digital, describing what he sees as a noticeable change from a decade ago. Henrie’s push for value-driven storytelling has become more personal since becoming a father, he said, shaping the kinds of projects he wants to champion and the kind of content he wants available for families like his.
"I really wanted to find a way to use everything God’s given me to tell stories on a bigger scale," he said, explaining why he launched Novo Inspire Studios, a production company he describes as focused on "entertaining and elevating content."

Entrepreneur David Friedman, the head of Friedman Ventures, who has a Master's degree in philosophical theology, told Fox News Digital, "Mr. Henrie's comments reveal the natural implications of walking out your Christian faith in a cultural context that has opposing values and worldviews. What's not discussed is that the losses were due to fundamentally different understandings about what human flourishing really means."
"However, there are many actors that also lose opportunities in staying true to their own versions of what is important," he continued. "The reality is that anyone that has a strong core faith or values will experience some form of rejection or cost, especially if the reigning paradigm is in direct opposition about the fundamental elements of reality, around morality and even the spiritual dimension to reality."
Friedman pointed to Eric Liddell, the Scottish Olympian who chose not to run in a race in the 1924 Summer Olympics because the event was held on Sunday and conflicted with Sabbath.
"The lesson applies to David and anyone in these situations, as the characters reveal that paradox of these tensions in that if Eric had run on Sunday, he would have cut himself off from the very power source that enabled him to win. That is the key for actors and anyone whose faith is central. There is really not another choice in these situations," Friedman continued.
Entertainment journalist DeWayne Hamby said in a statement to Fox News Digital that Hollywood decision makers were likely a little scared of someone marching to the beat of a different drum.
"I think it scares people a little bit, people who are making the decisions, that you have someone who you really can't predict," he said, responding to Henrie's comments about job loss. "They're marching to the beat of a different drummer, so they can't really predict them as much."

Actor Chris Pratt said during an interview in March that success in the industry can quickly turn destructive without a strong inner foundation.

Deshaun Watson is beginning to craft one of the most improbable comeback stories in sports history
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has already had one of the more unusual careers in modern NFL history.
After an acclaimed college career at Clemson, the Houston Texans drafted him 12th overall in 2017, two picks after the Kansas City Chiefs selected Patrick Mahomes. Unlike Mahomes, Watson played early in his rookie season. Almost immediately, he looked like a phenomenon.
That October, his first full month as a starter, Watson threw 16 touchdowns, setting the NFL record for touchdown passes by a rookie in a calendar month. He was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month.
Watson was an MVP candidate in just his first season. Then, on Nov. 2, 2017, he tore his ACL on a non-contact play during practice, ending his season.
He returned the following year and established himself as a solid franchise quarterback. By his fourth season as a starter, he had recaptured much of his rookie form. Despite the Texans winning just four games in 2020, Watson led the NFL in passing yards (4,823), completion percentage (70.2%), and passer rating (112.4).
By the end of that season, there was a growing perception that Watson had moved past Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson as the one true rival to Mahomes, who had already won one Super Bowl and appeared in another.
At the time, Watson said he envisioned himself and Mahomes as the "next Tom Brady and Peyton Manning." He was not alone. Colin Cowherd, Michael Vick, Jason Whitlock, Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman, and ProFootballTalk also made the comparison.
Then his career unraveled.
That offseason, 27 women filed civil lawsuits accusing Watson of sexual misconduct and assault during massage therapy appointments. The Texans sat him for the entire 2021 season.
The Browns traded for him the following year, sending Houston three first-round picks. Cleveland and Watson then agreed to an unprecedented five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract, the largest guaranteed deal in NFL history at the time.
Watson was suspended for six regular-season games to start the 2022 season by arbitrator Sue L. Robinson as a result of the sexual misconduct allegations.

He made his Browns debut later that season and struggled. The struggles continued the following year, and injuries ensued.
From 2022 through 2025, Watson played in just 19 games. He suffered two Achilles ruptures in that span. Statistically, he was among the worst quarterbacks in the entire NFL.
In one of the more stunning public acknowledgments by an NFL owner, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam acknowledged that trading for Watson was a mistake that set the franchise back years.
"We took a big swing and miss with Deshaun," Jimmy Haslam told reporters in 2025. "We thought we had the quarterback, we didn't and we gave up a lot of draft picks to get him. So we've got to dig ourselves out of that hole. (It) was an entire organization decision and it ends with Dee and I, so hold us accountable."
Despite the admission, Watson remained on the roster.
Ahead of this season, disdain for Watson’s play and character united nearly every corner of sports media. Between the scandal, the contract, the performance, and the attitude, Watson had become perhaps the most disliked athlete in American sports. Some outlets made that case.
Few athletes can put Jemele Hill and Clay Travis on the same side of an argument. Watson did.
The industry clamored for the Browns to start Shedeur Sanders before opening day. Browns fans agreed, even booing Watson as he walked onto the field during a preseason game.
Head coach Todd Monken received fierce backlash after he named Watson the starter. ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky said Browns fans should consider skipping home games in protest.
"I don't think they can have Deshaun Watson on the team after that interaction," Orlovsky said. "And, if they somehow come out today and name Deshaun Watson their starting quarterback, if I was a Browns fan, I wouldn't go to the game. You cannot handle a press conference that way, given the circumstances of what has transpired after they gave you $230-plus, $250 million guaranteed, and the lack of performance and availability has shown itself."
Betting markets posted odds before the season not on whether the Browns would bench Watson, but when.
Through three weeks, Watson’s career is undergoing yet another strange shift in public perception. The Browns are 2-1, in a four-way tie in the AFC North. Watson has played well. More importantly, he has played well in the clutch in back-to-back weeks.
For comparison, his 104.1 passer rating is nearly identical to MVP frontrunner Josh Allen’s.
Suddenly, Watson has supporters again. He has fans. In one of the biggest early-season upsets, Browns fans chanted "Let’s go Watson" after he led the team to victory in the final minutes against Carolina. His general manager greeted him in the tunnel with a hug.
Just as the previous stage of Watson’s career united unlikely voices in opposition, his budding comeback has done the same in reverse. Get this: both Jason Whitlock and Stephen A. Smith praised Watson for his performance Sunday. Former coach Rex Ryan said Watson "looks like" he did in Houston for the first time since the scandal.
Watson may never be a sympathetic figure. The allegations against him suggest a pattern of poor conduct, even if some details are disputed.
At 31, coming off two Achilles tears, Watson is unlikely to fulfill the prediction that he would become the Peyton Manning to Mahomes’ Tom Brady.
But a month ago, his career looked as if it was nearing an end, as if the Browns wants him to prove one final time he was unplayable. That's certainly how the media and fans interpreted his role this season.
He has since responded, finally making something of a second chance that all players would receive. Case in point: Justin Tucker, who faced similar allegations and has not returned since.
Suddenly, Watson is no longer merely the scandal-stained, overpaid quarterback many believed should be relegated to backup duty. In a narrow football sense, he has become something far stranger: the quarterback booed by his own fans, belittled publicly by his owner, mocked by the press, and still standing.
It is early, and the skepticism is earned. Still, Watson is quietly crafting one of the most improbable comeback stories in sports.
DOJ pleads with Supreme Court to save ban on transgender treatments in federal prisons
The Justice Department on Monday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to allow a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) policy banning payment for hormone treatments and social accommodations for transgender inmates.
The DOJ is asking the high court to block a lower court's ruling so that the federal government can immediately enforce its updated prison policy regarding gender dysphoria.
"BOP’s decision to prioritize mental-health treatment, while discontinuing medically disputed and unproven sex-rejecting interventions, falls well within the bounds of reasoned decision-making," U.S. Solicitor General D. John Sauer said in the DOJ petition.

The BOP issued a new policy in February prohibiting any surgeries aimed at modifying sex traits, as well as discontinuing hormone treatments for inmates not currently on hormone therapy.
In addition, the policy prevents social accommodations for inmates, such as breast/buttock padding, chest binders, makeup, wigs, or undergarments that do not align with an inmate's biological sex.
FEMALE INMATE SUES WASHINGTON STATE AFTER ALLEGED ATTACK BY MALE-BORN PRISONER IN WOMEN'S FACILITY
Earlier this year, a group of federal inmates sued the Trump administration over an executive order issued at the start of his second term that prohibited the use of federal funds for medical treatments or procedures for transgender inmates.
In June, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth, a Ronald Reagan appointee, ordered the BOP to continue providing accommodations and care for transgender inmates in federal prisons, saying officials had not provided a serious explanation for why medical treatment for gender dysphoria should be handled differently than in other cases.

The lower court found that the BOP failed to adequately consider its own past experience providing care aligned with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
In its Supreme Court filing, the DOJ said the care guidelines from WPATH are scientifically flawed, biased, and unreliable.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit declined to revive the policy while proceedings moved forward following an appeal by the Justice Department.
In the lawsuit, the DOJ and Sauer argued that courts must grant double deference to federal prison administrators.
"Prison administrators . . . should be accorded wide-ranging deference in the adoption and execution of policies and practices that in their judgment are needed to preserve internal order and discipline and to maintain institutional security." "The court’s demand for additional evidence cannot be reconciled with bedrock principles of administrative law or the double deference that BOP is due in this context."
Iran under scrutiny after plot foiled near UK base used by US military
Just days after left-wing British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband shook hands with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s top diplomat at the United Nations, U.K. authorities arrested five men with possible links to Tehran who allegedly sought to bomb a military base in Fairford used by American forces.
Armed officers arrested the five suspected terrorists who were traveling in three vans reportedly packed with explosive material. The authorities seized the five British nationals and the vans a mere 350 yards from the military base, which is used by the U.S. Army to launch air strikes against military targets in Iran.
Speaking from London on Monday, Nile Gardiner, the director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at the Heritage Foundation, told Fox News Digital, "I think it is highly likely it was an Iranian orchestrated attack. It is stunning that they have released terrorist suspects on bail. It strikes me as entirely insane. The suspects appear to be Muslim Islamists, judging by the picture."

A source familiar with the Fairford investigation had previously told Reuters that an Iranian-linked motive was considered the most likely, although a Russian sabotage operation or an Islamist plot were also being looked at as possibilities.
When President Donald Trump was asked if the bomb plot was linked to Iran’s regime, he said on Monday that "It might be, but I will tell you, I would have said, don't let them have bail. Cashless bail. I wonder, is it cashless bail? I guess that was one of the problems that we had, which started the whole mess of crime. And we're ending cashless bail."
He continued that "But over there, I'm surprised that they released them. I wouldn't have done that. Look, they've been very good. They worked with us very closely. We know everything about them. We would not have released them."
On Sunday, Trump said the suspects were "looking to do big damage." He added, "We had them under view for a long time, and we got them."
A spokesperson for Prime Minister Andy Burnham said that "when asked whether President Trump’s comments were accurate, the Prime Minister’s official spokesperson said the Defence Secretary had been asked about them on the morning round and referred journalists to his words. He said the investigation was ongoing, and it would not be appropriate to comment further."

The U.S. and U.K.-designated terrorist movement, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), put the British government on notice in July that military installations used to attack Iran are legitimate targets for retaliation.
Jason Brodsky, policy director at United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), which tracks Iran’s terrorist and spycraft activities in the United Kingdom, told Fox News Digital, "I believe Iran would have a motive for such a plot. This is because in July, authorities in Cyprus arrested a man accused of spying for Iran at RAF [Royal Air Force] Akrotiri. Iranian officials and media have also pointed to RAF Fairford specifically, dubbing it ‘an important matter for our self-defense’ amid Operation Epic Fury."

Brodsky added, "Iran has a long history of launching terror plots in the U.K., via its Intelligence Ministry and the IRGC. It has long used criminal gangs as proxies to mask its involvement. So I suspect U.K. authorities are probing these angles as part of the investigation."
The U.K.’s Counterterrorism Policing Office said the five suspects were detained on suspicion of offenses under the Explosives Act and preparation of a terrorist act contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act.
Vicki Evans, counterterrorism policing senior national coordinator, deputy assistant commissioner, said, "This is a hugely complex and large-scale operation, involving local and national policing, the MOD, and local agencies, who are working together to progress the investigation and support for the community."
Evans added, "I am very aware of the levels of speculation about the motivation behind this incident, and the geopolitical questions that are being raised."
According to an X post by the Iranian regime’s embassy in London, "The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London categorically rejects and strongly condemns the recent unfounded and malicious speculations published by some British individuals and media outlets attempting to link Iran to arrest of five suspects in the vicinity of RAF Fairford base."
The Iranian Embassy added "The Circulation of such fabricated speculations, particularly in the aftermath of the criminal acts of aggression committed by the United States and the Israeli regime against the Iranian people, will serve no purpose other than to fuel Iranophobia propaganda in the UK. The Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the right to take appropriate legal measures, as necessary, to safeguard the rights and interests of the country and its people in response to misleading and damaging media narratives."
Barak Seener, senior fellow at the London-based Henry Jackson Society, told Fox News Digital, "The British government has no sense of how to prioritize its national security interests. While British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband told Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at the U.N. that the United Kingdom will not tolerate intimidation, threats, or hostile activity on British soil, he was sure to take a friendly picture with him, while purposely avoiding meeting any Israeli representative."
He added, "Similarly, at the Labor Party conference, Ed Miliband spent 15 seconds on Iran, and close to four minutes on Israel. This has led to an environment in which a suspected terror plot at RAF Fairford could take place."
A spokesperson for the British government told Fox News Digital, "The police have issued a statement this afternoon from the head of CTP. We don’t have any further comment at this early stage."
With respect to the Fox News Digital press query about Miliband's meeting with Araghchi at the U.N., the British government spokesperson sent Fox News Digital a readout of the meeting, "The Foreign Secretary told Araghchi that Iran should choose de-escalation and diplomacy instead of prolonging the war. He underlined the importance of restoring freedom of navigation and the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, stressing the impact continued disruption has on global security and economic stability.
"The Foreign Secretary reiterated the UK's unwavering resolve to combat threats from Iranian-linked groups in UK soil, including attacks on the British Jewish community. The Foreign Secretary made clear that Britain will not tolerate intimidation, threats or hostile activity on UK soil and set out the measures the Government has taken in response. He also raised the ongoing detention of Craig and Lindsay Foreman, repeating the UK's call for their immediate release and stressing that their welfare remains a priority for the Government."

Vance unloads on tech titans using foreign visa holders to displace American workers
Vice President JD Vance wants to drastically change the H-1B foreign worker visa program in favor of a system that prioritizes American workers rather than the one he says currently displaces members of the domestic workforce.
"So, what are the things we can do administratively to ensure that if a tech company is going to try to get an H-1B visa, it's an actual genius, it's a person that is going to significantly enrich the tech ecosystem or the American economy?" Vance asked in a Sept. 15 episode of the "All-In" podcast, hosted by financial gurus Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Sacks and David Friedberg — all entrepreneurs and investors.
Vance explained that Congress doesn't have the "political will" to make significant changes to the visa program, leading to recent executive action on the subject.

H-1B visas are temporary nonimmigrant programs that allow foreign workers in "specialty occupations," often referred to as "high-skilled workers," to come to the United States and work, typically for three years, according to United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS). But critics say the program has been abused by large companies, many in the tech industry, to simply replace Americans in the workforce with cheaper labor from abroad.
Many also argue that the visa recipients aren't better suited than American workers to do the jobs.
Vance said the administration is trying to ensure companies are, "not just replacing one accountant who makes $60,000 with a lower-wage foreign accountant who makes $45,000 a year."
"We're also looking at various ways of preventing companies that use H-1B visas from laying off a bunch of American workers," said Vance in a clip shared on Sunday that sparked chatter on social media.
"So, one of the things that I find just shocking about this is that you'll have a company that applies for an H-1B, and they'll say, 'oh, we're desperate for workers, we can't find the workers,' and then you go and look at their history and they've laid off 5,000 people," he explained.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced in August a new rule to charge $103,265 to companies as an additional fee for every H-1B petition subject to the annual statutory cap of 65,000 per year.

A similar proposal from the administration was previously struck down by a federal district court.
"That's ridiculous," Vance said of American employers abusing the program to cut labor costs.
"If you're laying off American workers you shouldn't be going to the market searching for foreign workers to replace them," he said. "So, we're doing a lot, within the confines of course of what we're allowed to do legally. We've gotten sued on some of this stuff. But I think fundamentally, we're on [sic] the right on both the law and the policy."
'The H-1B should not exist to replace American workers with low-wage foreigners. It should exist to enrich the American economy."

Justin Thomas jokes that Jackson Koivun 'blacked out' at Presidents Cup while praising newest American star
Anyone who tuned into the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah had to have come away impressed by 21-year-old American rookie Jackson Koivun. Nobody in the world had a better seat to witness Koivun's abilities with a golf club in his hand than teammate Justin Thomas, who thoroughly enjoyed the show the former Auburn star put on.
Thomas and Koivun were paired together for what was the third match of the opening day's four-ball session. With this year's Presidents Cup marking Thomas' fourth, he's learned to take things in on the first tee, and he picked up on the fact that Koivun virtually "blacked out" before finding the fairway with his opening tee shot.
"It just was really cool to kind of just watch him do his thing. I'll never in my life forget the smile he had on his face when he put the tee in the ground on Thursday morning and he was about to hit," Thomas recalled on Sunday. "I think he kind of blacked out and went to pick up the tee, didn't pick up the tee. It was just laying right there when I went to go put my tee in the ground. It's kind of cool to get to experience those moments with someone."
Koivun and Thomas cruised to a 4&3 victory over the International pairing of Nico Echavarria and Corey Conners on Thursday.
Team USA captain Brandt Snedeker opted to sit Koivun during Friday's foursomes matches, which the Americans were swept 5-0 in, but paired Koivun and JT together again for Saturday's four-ball session.

Earning a point and a half out of a possible two for Koivun, who has been a professional for less than 90 days, was still an accomplishment, and then came Sunday's singles matches.
Koivun squared off against Si Woo Kim, a veteran of the event and arguably the best ball-striker on the property for the week, and earned a 2-up victory after falling to 2-down after 10 holes.
It isn't necessarily up for debate that Koivun going 2-0-1 in his Presidents Cup debut was the top takeaway from the event from the Americans' perspective.
Based on Thomas' kind words about Koivun – who was still playing college golf earlier this calendar year – it's safe to say that he would agree.
