Woman says she’s being held against her will after cruise ship hantavirus scare
An American woman who may have been exposed to hantavirus on board the MV Hondius cruise ship is now being forced to quarantine at a facility in Omaha, Nebraska.
Angela Perryman, 47, anticipated having to stay at the National Quarantine Unit for a short time after arriving last week, but on Monday she was served with a federal order to remain quarantined for at least two more weeks, she shared with The New York Times.
The order mandates that Perryman remains in the facility until May 31, which would be a total of 21 days after her arrival. Officials told her that any attempts to leave could result in law enforcement involvement, she said.

"They won’t let us isolate at home," Perryman, who lives in Ecuador but has a home in South Florida, told the news outlet. "We’re being kept in a secured facility and threatened if we try to leave."
The woman shared that she received a negative hantavirus test result and is not experiencing symptoms. However, she said she did briefly speak with a passenger who later died from the disease.
The federal order, which the passenger shared with the Times, states that it could "constitute a probable source of infection to other people" if Perryman were to leave the facility to travel to another state.

After receiving a medical review within 72 hours, Perryman was told she can appeal the order. She told the Times that she plans to take legal action.

The quarantine unit includes 20 single-occupancy rooms with negative air pressure systems and en suite bathroom facilities, along with exercise equipment and Wi-Fi connectivity, according to the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Global Center for Health Security website.
The quarantine order — issued under federal public health authority — was reportedly approved by Jay Bhattacharya, the acting head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Fox News Digital reached out to the CDC requesting comment.
Including Perryman, a total of 18 American passengers from the MV Hondius have been monitored at the quarantine unit since last week.
Seven other passengers who left the ship and returned home prior to the outbreak’s discovery are being monitored by their state and local health departments, per the CDC.
"The reason they’re watching these passengers so carefully is that the incubation period can be very long — up to six weeks — and when symptoms hit, patients can deteriorate very rapidly," Dr. Marc Siegel, Fox News senior medical analyst, said during a recent episode of "The Faulkner Focus."
"This is not something that spreads easily like COVID, but because the Andes strain has rare person-to-person transmission, public health officials are being extremely cautious," he added.
At least three people linked to the outbreak aboard the ship have died, while additional passengers have been sickened, according to the World Health Organization.
The federal government last imposed a large-scale quarantine order in January 2020, when nearly 200 Americans evacuated from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak. They were required to remain in isolation for two weeks at the March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County, California, per the CDC.

"Typically, we don’t hold people against their will unless there is no alternative," Jennifer Nuzzo, director of the pandemic center at Brown University’s School of Public Health, told The Times.
Mamdani's office draws outrage after press credentials given to Luigi Mangione supporters
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s office drew outrage on Monday after Luigi Mangione supporters made brazen comments outside the Manhattan Criminal Courts Building while wearing "press" badges issued by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
Mangione, 28, is awaiting trial for the 2024 murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan. The suspect appeared in court for a brief hearing on Monday, where a trio of female supporters were seen wearing press credentials designed to allow journalists access for reporting and newsgathering.
Abril Rios, Ashley Rojas and Lena Weissbrot, who showed off their press badges to the New York Post and have been dubbed "Mangionistas," didn’t hide their over-the-top support for Mangione or disdain for Thompson.
"F--- Brian Thompson," Rojas said, according to the Post. "That’s all I want to say. F--- Brian Thompson. F--- his mom."

Weissbrot added, "His children are better off without him. They need to learn to not be like their dad. And enjoy the blood money, kids."
Weissbrot insisted the slain UnitedHealthcare CEO was "responsible for more deaths than Osama bin Laden."
"I remember Americans celebrating when Osama bin Laden was killed," she said.
Mamdani told reporters on Tuesday that "those three individuals should not have received press passes."
"There is a good-natured debate to be had about where a press pass should extend and where it shouldn't. However, the three people that we are talking about don't fall within that debate," he said.
Mangione has won support from some corners of the far-left for his alleged killing of Thompson, with some effectively calling it vengeance for the health insurance industry's high costs and poor coverage options.
Backlash was swift once the women's comments were shared across social media.
Journalist Miranda Devine asked, "Why are activist morons impersonating reporters?"
"I cannot believe they were issued press passes! Incredibly dangerous. And what exactly are their qualifications? We really need to stop treating influencers like journalists," journalist Michele McPhee posted.
"NYC’s Mayor Marxist Mamdani granted these lunatic vile ‘Mangionistas’ press passes— emboldening their hate and violent rhetoric," another critic added. "Great job, NY!"
The ordeal landed the trio on the Post's front page.
Rios, whose Substack describes her as a "female rage encourager, abolitionist, and socialist fascism resister," has defended her position.
"I am not a reporter, I work in social media which is also press," Rios posted on Instagram.
When asked for additional comment, Rios — who said she was speaking on behalf of all three women — provided Fox News Digital with a statement suggesting "no amount of pressure or fearmongering is going to make me bow to our oppressors."
"I have a platform and I intend to use it to speak about even the toughest truths. The fact of the matter, whether you want to face it or not, is that the healthcare lobby has continued to innovate—not in ways it can help people—but in ways that it can steal from us. I have zero remorse or sympathy for those capitalizing off of and relying on the deaths of the American people to put money in the pockets of the few," Rios said.
"I’ve remained true to my beliefs for the last couple of years and this should be zero surprise to any person, group, or media outlet," she continued. "Having opinions is not illegal, and neither is sharing them. I wish to see the day that more Americans come forward and are not afraid to speak on what I know many of them truly believe."

Mamdani’s office told The New York Times it was "reassessing the city’s process and standards for press credentialing."
When asked for additional comment by Fox News Digital, Mamdani’s office noted that the process of issuing press credentials has not changed from past administrations. The NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) has "sole authority to issue press credentials on behalf of the city," and MOME is only able to revoke or suspend a press badge after an OATH hearing, pending an OATH judge’s determination, meaning the office "has little flexibility in taking recourse."

Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all state and federal charges. His attorney has condemned "vile and irresponsible statements" from supporters.
Thompson, a father of two from Minnesota, had come to New York City to meet with Wall Street investors when he was murdered in December 2024. Surveillance video shows the last moments of his life — when a gunman approached him from behind on the sidewalk and opened fire.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche accused Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., of lying during a line of questioning after the senator said a Jan. 6 rioter pardoned by President Donald Trump had discussed using future restitution money to ensure his child sexual abuse victims stayed quiet.
Blanche appeared before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday to answer questions about the Justice Department's fiscal year 2027 budget. The hearing came a day after the Justice Department announced the creation of a $1.776 billion fund for people who allege they were victims of federal government "lawfare."
Van Hollen, a ranking member on the committee, accused the Anti-Weaponization Fund of being a "slush fund" for Trump's allies, raising concerns that the money would go to individuals indicted and charged for their involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots. Trump pardoned and provided commutations to more than 1,500 people charged with and convicted of their role in the Capitol riots, including Andrew Paul Johnson, who was sentenced to life in prison in March 2026 for the sexual abuse of two minors.

"That person actually tried to buy the silence of these children by saying that he would pay them some of the funds that he was hoping to get from your slush fund," Van Hollen asked Blanche. "Can you commit to making the rules so that that person is not eligible for a payout under this fund?"
"Well, you're obviously lying in your question, because there's no way that this person committed to that," Blanche said. "The slush fund, as you call it... didn't exist."
Van Hollen pointed at Blanche and warned him.
"Don't ever do that again. I am reporting what he said," Van Hollen said. "He said on the expectation that he hoped to get some of the funds from a payout."
Florida authorities reported that Johnson had promised his victims he would share money he expected to receive as restitution after being pardoned by Trump. In a Discord message to one of his victims, Johnson shared that "he was being awarded $10,000,000 as a result of being a ‘jan 6’er’" and he'd be putting the victim "in his ‘will’ to take any money he had left over," according to an affidavit that Van Hollen read to Blanche later in the hearing.
Blanche pointed out that the Anti-Weaponization Fund or the alleged "slush fund" didn't even exist when Johnson made those promises to the victims.
"This is the fund that the president and all of you have been telegraphing all along that you are going to use to help the president's friends," Van Hollen said.
The Justice Department's pardon attorney, Ed Martin, is the only known Trump administration official who has explicitly called for those convicted in connection with the Jan. 6 Capitol riots to receive restitution for the "lawfare" they faced. However, Democratic senators argue the Justice Department has taken steps to make restitution for the Jan. 6 defendants possible.
Why the Cavs' first-quarter energy could be the smart play against a potentially rusty Knicks squad
If you missed the game last night between the Spurs and Thunder, I feel sorry for you. There have been some reasonable complaints about the games, and some overblown, but last night was good, fun basketball. There was greatness from Victor Wembanyama, surprising performances from Alex Caruso and so much more. The Cavs and Knicks have a lot of work to do if they want to match the double-overtime performance from last night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are probably tired. This is the 15th playoff game the team will have played. Both of their first two series went the full distance, with the Cavs unable to get separation from their opponent. However, Cleveland persevered and won both series and now has just one more to win to reach the NBA Finals. This will be quite a challenge for the Cavaliers, but they do seem somewhat locked in at the moment, having won four of the past five games.
How can the Cavs pull off an upset tonight, and in the series for that matter? Donovan Mitchell has to be the best player in the series. Jalen Brunson and he should cancel each other out, for the most part. Jarrett Allen will need to be a beast on the glass and disrupt Karl-Anthony Towns' newfound playmaking. And, most of all, James Harden needs to be reliable. He averaged under 20 points per game against Detroit and just 6.3 assists. That is three points fewer and two assists fewer than in the regular season.
The New York Knicks are the clear favorite to win the Eastern Conference, and after their performance against Philadelphia, it is easy to understand. They've played 10 games this postseason and are 8-2. Their two losses have been by a total of two points. Their wins haven't even been that close. Their wins have been by 11, 16, 29, 51, 39, 6, 14 and 30. Seven wins by double digits, and four by 29 or more points. The Knicks have been fantastic this postseason.
So with all the success, do the Knicks need to change anything in order to win this series? It is hard to say that they can improve. Brunson has been great, the defense has been excellent, Towns has been a playmaker, and they swept the 76ers without OG Anunoby playing the full series. He is now back, and that should spell some problems for the Cavs. I do think that Anunoby's scoring could be the key to this series. If we assume Brunson and Mitchell cancel each other, and Towns against Allen and Mobley is a good matchup, Anunoby can be the difference maker against Max Strus.
There is always going to be a question of rest vs. rust. The Knicks have the rest advantage, having not played since May 10. The Cavs ran out of gas against the Pistons in Game 1 of the series after playing a Game 7. They were lucky to have a sweat-free Game 7 on Sunday. This game really could go either way if the Knicks come out flat.
The play in this one is to take the Cavs in the first quarter of the game at +1.5. The Knicks could struggle out of the gate. The Cavs are in a good rhythm at the moment, and they have already shown they can play well after a Game 7. I'll take Cleveland in the first quarter, but I do think they could fade as the game goes on.

Mamdani-style DC mayoral hopeful dragged over 'exactly backwards' response to violent teen mobs
Days after another violent teen brawl broke out in Washington, D.C., a socialist mayoral candidate being hailed as D.C.’s version of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing criticism for her "exactly backwards" response to the "unchecked chaos" rocking the nation’s capital.
During the D.C. mayoral debate Monday night, City Council member and candidate Janeese Lewis George condemned curfews for youth in the city, calling the policy "dangerous." Instead, Lewis George, who is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and was dubbed by Axios "D.C.'s version of Zohran Mamdani," said the city should "expand our youth programming" through youth centers and apprenticeships.
Meanwhile, she suggested the real threat to D.C.’s youth is the "federal troops" and "masked ICE agents" patrolling the city.
"Right now, using the curfew as a tool for our young people is dangerous. It is dangerous because we have federal troops who are in our city, masked ICE agents who are in our city, and these are the people enforcing this law and our young people, and these are not individuals who are trained in de-escalation, they are not accountable to D.C. residents," she said.

"As mayor," she said, "I think it's important that we use the right tools, and we don't put the risk of our youth being harmed or killed without the real oversight that's necessary."
Instead of curfews, Lewis George said, "What we do is expand our youth programming. We do summer youth employment throughout the year, extended hours. We expand our centers. We leverage our unions and apprenticeships to create jobs and pathways for our young people. We give them the tools they need to succeed, and we address chronic absenteeism."
Lewis George also vowed to expand universal access to childcare in D.C., "so that no family is spending more than 7% of their income on childcare."
In response, Charles Fain Lehman, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, told Fox News Digital in an emailed statement that Lewis George has it "exactly backwards."
"Public acting out is not the result of insufficient services or alternative opportunities. It’s what happens when the system fails to consistently and clearly enforce rules about public conduct," he said, adding, "It’s exactly backwards to say that what they need is more lenience."
Lehman theorized that candidates such as Lewis George and Mamdani are gaining momentum across the country due to "the welcome decline in violence in major cities over the past several years" having "created an opening for candidates who prioritize the very real challenge of affordability."
That being said, Lehman emphasized, "I don’t think their preferred solutions — building only publicly funded housing, e.g., or city-run grocery stores — are likely to work."
He added, "I worry that anti-police sentiment and skepticism of the criminal justice system more generally on the part of DSA-backed mayors is likely to reignite the cycle of violence."

In the shocking video of the fight, which occurred at a Chipotle in D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood, about eight adolescents can be seen throwing punches and hurling restaurant furniture at one another as innocent bystanders huddle for safety in the corner of the restaurant. Metro D.C. police said the brawl occurred Saturday around 8:40 p.m.
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro announced that her office will crack down on parents of juveniles who wreak havoc in the streets of the nation's capital. Teen takeovers, many involving massive brawls in the Navy Yard neighborhood, have been documented for years.
"Teen takeovers have disrupted neighborhoods, forced businesses to close temporarily, and diverted valuable law enforcement resources from the residents of the District," Pirro said in a statement. "These incidents have become increasingly common in areas such as Navy Yard and NoMa and are often accompanied by criminal conduct, including assaults, robberies, fights, and other disorderly behavior."
Meanwhile, Stefani Buhajla, a spokesperson for Heritage Action, criticized Lewis George, telling Fox News Digital that "libraries and green spaces aren’t the solution. We need law and order."
Buhajla noted that "D.C. has been plagued by poor leadership for decades," emphasizing that "crime and homelessness has made America’s home base a largely inhospitable place."
She said that "President Trump’s efforts to clean up the city shouldn’t even be necessary."
"Local leadership should be doing that, and socialism will not get it done," she continued, adding, "Just look at what happened in Navy Yard the other day: unchecked chaos is ruining people’s livelihoods."

Pro wrestling podcaster Dwayne Swayze talks teaming with MVP for show, partnership with BZZR
The adage, "never meet your heroes," has been a proverb used to keep people from having high expectations of those they look up to or idolize.
For pro wrestling podcaster Dwayne Swayze, the phrase couldn’t have been more wrong.
Swayze teamed up with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star MVP to create the "Marking out with MVP and Dwayne Swayze" podcast, focused on providing an outlet for wrestling fans to listen to in-depth interviews with their favorite stars from all wrestling backgrounds.

As the podcast partners with BZZR, Swayze shared with Fox News Digital the story about how he got involved with MVP in the first place. He said he watched MVP at WrestleMania 25 in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match and days later the pro wrestler was in his studio trying to record his own music for his entrance theme.
"All of a sudden, six months after being at WrestleMania 25, my favorite wrestler walks directly in. I couldn’t believe it. And nobody knew how big of a wrestling fan I was but I refused to go to the studio on Mondays or Fridays for ‘Raw’ and, there might’ve even been a Thursday back then, for ‘SmackDown.’ I’m not working at all during those times," he recalled. "So, he walks in, so we were able to forge a relationship and the very first song he ever released, I was just in the studio sitting in the back watching my favorite wrestler and he’s rapping. He’d ask for some pointers every now and then. And I don’t know him enough to say anything because I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe you’re here.’ And he finishes on this song – two verses. And he looks over at me and says, ‘Hey, you, you wanna do the other verse?’ And I’m like, ‘Of course, of course I do.’
"And ever since then, we’d be in the studio, and we’re chatting, I would always ask a wrestling-related question, being the huge fan that I am. Something along the lines of, ‘OK, at the 2008 Royal Rumble, you’re wrestling Ric Flair, he’s on his retirement tour, you, Mr. Kennedy. He’s eventually going to face Shawn Michaels and that is going to be the end of his career and when you guys are at Madison Square Garden, it was reported that he was having confidence issues. What were you saying to him in the ring right before the bell rang?’ And he’d tell me and this is what would be going on for 15 years. And in October 2024, I asked him a question and his response to me was, ‘This should be a show.’ … But that’s how we got here."

Swayze talked to Fox News Digital about some of the good things he’s been seeing with both companies.
"Some of the good things that I’m seeing … Well, outside my ‘Tribal Chief’ (Roman Reigns), you must acknowledge him, there’s a big youth movement of course," he said. "In WWE, I’m loving to see Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Sol Ruca. AEW, ‘where the best wrestle,’ of course, where MVP’s at right now. I really like Kyle Fletcher, Megan Bayne is awesome, Kevin Knight. I’m loving to see the changes of how things were in the past and how it is now.
"These guys have so much more pressure on them than the stars from yesterday. I kinda compare it to Michael Jordan and LeBron James. They have to live in the social media era and us as fans, the expectation is to see our star – we see them on television, we see them on their socials, a dirt sheet might pull them up, there’s podcasts. There’s just so much, but they’re doing their thing. They’re still performing. They’re still entertaining us. They’re putting themselves out there. As a fan, I definitely appreciate it."
'Non-human' bodies allegedly recovered from crashed UFO, documentary filmmaker claims
"Non-human" bodies of varying species have been recovered from crashed UFO craft, filmmaker Dan Farah told Fox News on Monday, citing accounts from senior intelligence officials interviewed for his new disclosure documentary.
"A number of the people I interviewed in my film — senior intelligence officials — went on the record saying that there have been dozens of crashed craft of non-human origin over the years," Farah said on "Jesse Watters Primetime."
"Elements of our government have recovered those crashes, and they've gotten out of that technology of non-human origin, and in some cases, non-human bodies that were on these craft."
Farah claimed the bodies on the craft being discussed were deceased.

This comes as the Trump administration has placed pressure on government agencies to release files related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and alleged extraterrestrial encounters to the public.
The Department of War subsequently declassified never-before-seen material related to the request, including dozens of PDFs, images and videos.

Farah alleged, however, that resistance inside the federal government has slowed broader public disclosure efforts.
"The people who have gatekept this information for 80 years, they don't want to share it. They've gotten a lot of power and control over the years, and it's just frankly not human nature for people to want to give up power and control, so there's a tug-of-war happening behind the scenes," he said.
"There are a number of other reasons guiding their desire to keep this secret, including a general belief that the public can't handle the truth."
Farah argued that continued secrecy surrounding alleged UFO programs would not meaningfully disadvantage the United States against foreign adversaries because rival nations likely already know about the phenomenon.
"I think our adversaries know we're not alone in the universe," he said. "They know we've been recovering craft of non-human technology, non-human origin. Saying it out loud wouldn't give them any new information."

The Denver Broncos offensive lineman has military roots, as his grandfather fought in the Korean War. But this holiday weekend will be the first without his grandfather, who died earlier this year.
But earlier this month, Bolles partnered with USAA in Colorado Springs for an event with over 50 local veterans who served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars, all of whom will be traveling with the Honor Flight of Southern Colorado on a trip to Washington, D.C., this weekend. The vets, many of whom have never made the trip to the nation's capital, will all visit monuments throughout Washington.

"The smiles and the facial expressions that I saw on these men and women were just priceless. Priceless moments that I'll remember for the rest of my life.
"I told every single one of them as I shook their hand that they're the real heroes. I just wear a helmet and a jersey and they cheer me on, but those are the people that really make a difference in our world. Those men and women literally risk their lives on a regular basis just to make us safer back at home and to allow us to live in a free country. How grateful and proud we should be to truly understand that is remarkable. It's truly amazing what these men and women do for us."
Bolles is a self-admitted history nerd who "love[s]" learning about wars.
"Not because of what took place, but because of the stories and the fascinating things behind the wars that we've endured, come through, and gone through in the United States military," Bolles added.
That's why, for the 6'5", 300-pound gentle giant who actually wanted to be a Navy SEAL growing up, getting face-to-face with those who went through it is an ultimate gift.

"What's so neat is when you get to talk to these people, and you get to open them up, and you ask them about their families, you ask them about their better half, their wife, these people are real," an emotional Bolles recalled. "These are real people with real stories, real backgrounds, and real battle scars. These people are not just some Joe Schmo. A lot of them come from broken families. A lot come from single parents. A lot grew up in foster care...
"These people are part of our history. These people are part of who we are and how we can wake up every day and see blue skies and sun and trees and a house. We get to drive a car to work. All these things we get to do are because of the people who sacrificed their lives for us. Without those people, we would not be able to go to school. We wouldn't be able to be free. We wouldn't be able to eat what we want, when we want, how we want, or talk how we want. We wouldn't be able to stand on a platform and voice our opinions. Without any of those things, the United States of America would be nothing...
"There's so much toxic stuff in this world right now that we really need to understand the importance of Memorial Day. We live in a country where people bled for us and died for us, and we need to be grateful for the small and simple things because we've lost track of what's important."
Getting with military veterans is easy motivation for Bolles, who was named a First-team All-Pro for the first time in his nine-year career last season. His Broncos came up short in the AFC title game after Bo Nix was injured the week before, and the snow wreaked havoc, "but really, we just came up short."
Now, after enduring seven straight losing seasons to start his career, Bolles has gotten a taste of success and is "super hungry" for the full meal.
"There's a reason why we didn't bring certain people in during free agency when every single person wanted to freak out and say, 'What's going on?' It's because we have a special locker room. It has nothing to do with needing key pieces. We just have a special locker room with special people in there, and when you bring the wrong guys in, it destroys that and becomes a toxic environment. You can't win football games in a toxic environment. Trust me — I've done seven years of that," Bolles said.
"The Denver Broncos are full of winners. They're full of dogs. We have a culture that's really hard to beat. There are so many other teams around the country that want to see what we do and how we do it — how we train, how we take care of our bodies. We're building a brand-new facility with a world-renowned training center. You can't beat it. Our owners are unbelievable, we have the best GM in football, we have the best head coach, we have the best coaches under his staff. I'm just grateful to be a Denver Bronco, and I'm excited for this upcoming season."

Megan Rapinoe’s woke fans reject her luxury World Cup hospitality ticket sales pitch: 'Shill'
Picking one of the most miserable figures in sports, Megan Rapinoe, to influence exclusive World Cup hospitality ticket sales might not have been the smartest business decision.
The 40-year-old Rapinoe is being roasted on Instagram by her own fans for a "paid partnership" Instagram post the retired soccer vet posted on Monday.
"With hospitality, you get a guaranteed ticket with premium seating," Rapinoe promised. "With hospitality, you get a ticket plus dedicated entry, unlimited food and drinks, and plenty of time before and after the match to enjoy it all."
Sounds amazing, right? A quick check of the World Cup Hospitality website shows a price of $6,050 for one person to attend the June 12 USA-Paraguay match in Los Angeles, if you want access to the Pitchside Lounge.
Rapinoe's fans aren't happy that their hero is taking a check from FIFA to promote such elitism.
"Too bad only the 1% can afford it," one of her fans replied on Instagram.
"Sad you are doing this Megan. They have out priced all the fans," wrote another fan.
Single-seat tickets to the USA-Paraguay match are selling for just over $1,000. The wokes who hate capitalism see this charade as Meg selling out for a paycheck.
"Rapinoe a shill for FIFA, how the mighty have fallen," an angry fan replied to her video.
Does Rapinoe even have the influence to move World Cup tickets? Outside the announcement of her breakup with her girlfriend, Sue Bird, Rapinoe isn't moving the Google Trends needle this year. Nothing says lack of energy for love of sports like Rapinoe telling fans to get excited about men's soccer when this woman is off running a Substack where she's writing about slowing down in life and smelling roses.
Just three people have replied to the post. Even the wokest of the wokes are ignoring poor Megan.
She's not calling for cheaper tickets. She's not standing up against exorbitant ticket prices — even her enemy, President Trump, has called for lower World Cup prices. From an outsider looking in, it appears that Megan just wants to make money for Megan while ignoring the regular Americans she claims to fight for.
Perhaps Rapinoe was a fraud all along. It just took some people longer to figure it out than the rest of us.
Umpires in Nationals-Mets game seemingly forget the rules, causing extra-innings delay
Baseball is a game of rules. Written rules, unwritten rules, you name it.
It seems like there are so many rules in the game of baseball it can be tough to remember them all, unless, of course, it's your job to know those rules like the back of your hand.
Speaking of which, the New York Mets and Washington Nationals had a wacky game on Monday night, with the Mets notching 10 runs in the top of the 12th inning to win by an absurd 16-7 score in extras.

It was the most runs scored in an extra inning in over 40 years, but that might not have even been the craziest part of the game.
During that onslaught of offense, the Nationals decided they were tired of watching their pitcher getting shellacked and called in a position player to take the rubber.
The umpires looked like they were ready to lay down the law since the Mets were up by less than the requisite eight-run lead needed for the losing team to put a position player on the mound, but there was just one problem: the eight run rule doesn't apply to extra innings.

Full disclosure, I wasn't super familiar with the rules regarding position players getting to pitch, but I'm also not being paid by Major League Baseball to enforce the rules, so that's a terrible look for the umpires.
Look at how long it took them to get this right!
Hell, they even had to call the replay center to get clarification on the rule. How long could that possibly take?
The guys in the broadcast booth were able to find the rules in a quarter of the time it took the umps to get clarity.
You can see the embarrassment on the umpire's face and in his voice when he announces that, yes, Washington can in fact bring in a position player to pitch.
A game that was already taking longer than usual thanks to extra innings and the Mets taking a sledgehammer to the Nationals' bullpen took even longer thanks to the confusion from this group of umpires.
I'm sure everyone just wanted to get home at that point, not watch a bunch of dudes in gray slacks hold their fingers to their ears for another five minutes.

The best part of all of this is that this was only game one of the series, and it's a four-game set, so it will be interesting to see what this umpire crew has up its sleeve for an encore.
One thing is for sure, they will probably be doing a lot of homework this afternoon to try and avoid another incident like this one.
